Why? Why cant i just buy the games instead of paying for a subscription? How did Nintendo managed to make a subscription system even worse that the others on the market? WHY CANT VIDEOGAMES RETURN TO BEING A ONE TIME PURCHASE?
Honestly I'm all for that. That's what I did with the original Dragon Quest. I don't mind buying these games with a singular price, which was originally my plan with games like GoldenEye 007, Banjo Kazooie, and now Mario and Luigi. 2 games I've never played and 1 game that I've played for like a half hour.
I just wish that they actually had a relatively expansive list of titles to actually make it worthwhile. Maybe throw in some of the gba pokemon games, some more zelda titles, more mario, or even just obscure but fun shit like the dragon ball z games like The Legacy Of Goku
Honestly just the idea of actually being able to play Kirby and the Amazing Mirror multiplayer without a mess of now kind of expensive cables is enough to sell me on the expansion pass. Plus getting Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and likely later down the road Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade will be really nice as entry points into the Fire Emblem series for new comers, plus it will give people a legal way to play actually good Fire Emblem games. *Shots fired at the newer games* Even the GB/GBC games are amazing, and yes you can easily emulate them, not everyone want to emulate or even knows you can emulate games. Though personally I only really care about the Zelda games, and the Pokemon TCG game. Everything else so far for the GB/GBC bit is just kind of meh. This does mean that there is a CHANCE we will get the main line Pokemon games in those. Seeing as Nintendo is no longer selling them with the 3DS eshop being shut down, I could see them porting them to the Switch Online offerings. The potential is there, but honestly even as it stands I'm happy with what's been announced. Just the fact they are supporting online multiplayer for these old games is amazing, and not something they needed to do, and honestly I can't wait to share these games with my gf who hasn't played any of them.

To be fair, I doubt this is made for people rocking Steam Decks and homebrewed 3DS's in the first place - it's more for average Joes and Timmies who don't mind throwing some cash towards hassle-free access to their childhood games.
Really? Game Boy and GBA games are some of the easier games to emulate.
...Or so I hear, FBI agents and Nintendo ninjas that may be spying on me right now.
GBA only launched with 6 games lol, couldn't drag and drop more ROMs
This means a marked increased priority to let us save Marin from being trapped as a seagull forever !
283 days remaining till I
They're probably going to do this all the way till the Wii U, price is probably more than $100
*S O U P*
Me when no Mother 3
Drip feed games
Still gonna do a bit of sailing the seven seas, but ok
the direct was 80% remakes
I will not be spending big money for gba
KURURIN ISN'T IRRITATING STICK
oooooor... I can just emulate all the GB/GBA games ever released on one of the three handheld consoles I have in my drawer.
or even the phone I'm using to type this right now.
I audibly said 'ew' when this was announced.
At least people with lack of emulator knowledge will be able to play Game and Watch Gallery 3, the definitive Game Boy game.
correct me if I'm wrong, but no amount of "emulator knowledge" will allow you to play these games on Switch, unless you're willing to mod your console, of course.
Rick and Morty fan moment
@@go_golden Modding your console falls under "emulator knowledge" in this case.
So I agree. "Ew" is the appropriate response.
@@go_golden you can play them on your goddamn phone
You should officially be considered braindead if you can't figure how to use an emulator for like the GBA or what.
It's almost literally a drag-and-drop kind of deal, ffs
Oh, hell yeah! Gargoyle's Quest!
All it took for me to get that expansion pack was the GBA. Granted the other stuff is great too but…gba nostalgia
Emulators tho ^^
@@JennyTheNerdBat faster to turn on my switch than to boot up my laptop and emulator
@@tailsprower8118 retroarch on your phone?
The 64, gb ,gbc and GBA emulators on the service technically count as pokemon games. Also at the time this comment was made we have 5 copies of Mario bros now.
I'm hoping for some sort of Pokemon Gen 1 & 2 integration with the Switch port of Pokemon Stadium 1 + 2
wario land 3 but no wario land 4?
no doubt it'll make it there eventually, probably in 2028, thanks nintendo!
Don't buy the Expansion Pass. There is nothing here that will make you want to expand dong.
Nintendo haters in the comments trying to either justify why they still don’t want to buy games when no one is forcing them and Nintendo fans trying to defend why they like something when they can just like it regardless is wild, why’s everything gotta be so aggressive nowadays
WHERE IS MEGAMAN BATTLE NETWORK?!?
No point when the Collection is a couple months away
They’re making a collection, no point in putting those games on the online service.
when Nintendo DS emulation? Drastic or Desmume still pales to the genuine DS experience by a large gap, but the Switch might come close tbh.
I do like rereleases yes
so #retro
I feel like they're not adding pokemon games cause they know people wouldn't buy the shitty remakes
No reaction to Golden Sun... orz
God please god release all of the WARIO land games
Wario Land 3 is the "Metroidvania" one indeed and my personal favorite, glad to see it added to Switch Online among all those other great games (and a couple of obscure ones, too)!
Although I still don't get why they didn't show any modern version, i.e. the best ones so one of the selling points, of the games in Game & Watch Gallery 3...
Alone in the Dark??? There are fans out there losing their shit over it?
"I expected nothing and i'm still disappointed"
Its gonna be cool playing Mario & Luigi on a TV screen. I havent played that game since it came out, super nostaglic
@@MegaMario9001 GameCube
@@MegaMario9001 or a computer :V
They need to add the DS. Maybe people would actually buy nintendo online.
I just wish that they actually had a relatively expansive list of titles to actually make it worthwhile.
Maybe throw in some of the gba pokemon games, some more zelda titles, more mario, or even just obscure but fun shit like the dragon ball z games like The Legacy Of Goku
I'm still emulating old nintendo games and I'm never going to buy a switch unless I get rich. Sorry Nintendchuds
okay
Good for you
That’s nice to hear, chuckwagon.
ok
*thumbs up*
*goes back to enjoying ourselves*
I don’t know why I actually got excited for a shadow mother 3 localization when I saw the gba show up
Honestly just the idea of actually being able to play Kirby and the Amazing Mirror multiplayer without a mess of now kind of expensive cables is enough to sell me on the expansion pass. Plus getting Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and likely later down the road Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade will be really nice as entry points into the Fire Emblem series for new comers, plus it will give people a legal way to play actually good Fire Emblem games. *Shots fired at the newer games*
Even the GB/GBC games are amazing, and yes you can easily emulate them, not everyone want to emulate or even knows you can emulate games.
Well... i guess we can say Mario & Luigi finally made it in the Nintendo Switch
Someone gift him the expansion pass. I wanna see him play N64 stuff that's not shovelware!
