Just switch to Snapdragon and melt down his infinite-spawning Champion TV Head cronies while of course being sure to kill him just before time runs out. The Zombie counterpart to Advertiser is Lucy, but that means fighting infinite Hypno-shrooms and nobody likes fighting those smug freaks.
Another bonus to the skirmish method is the crazy xp you get. My strat: spend some time doing skirmishes until you get about 500 tacos, then spend the tacos in the plumbing gig. You can get around 10 bulbs an hour and it is not too boring either.
When you master space cadet, you get a upgrade that increases the time of crater maker by getting a kill. This means with this upgrade you could kill all three of the bitey bros with one crater maker.

The fastest way to get XP: Solar Sisters Bounty hunt Instead of sparing them and doing the hunt correctly, Vanquish them non-stop since they all give you a decent amount of XP
I can do, but there's not really any exploits or anything you can do with Rainbow stars, you have to either completely the weekly event challenges, earn them in the prize map or actually buy them :)

The bitey bros method can work faster if you have certain upgrades. These upgrades allow you to 1 shot ALL bitey bros when done correctly. :)
