Here's a basic list of places to visit: Colombo, Negombo, Galle and Trincomali (beach, party, nightlife), Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Kandy (lakes, Ancient kingdoms and architecture), Nuwaraeliya area (mountains, gardens, waterfalls). These should give you a good start. have fun! :)
