@@yiengyouavyiengyouav2785you’re welcome. My mom passed away in 2009 so as I was watching your video. I was looking for her in the crowd hoping to see her 😢

Exactly how i remembered hmong new year and when i used to enjoy going..now its different but still fun. The vhs, movies and music video is what i look forward to. Tig tsis tau sijhawm rov qab li lawm os hmong aws.

Wow! I remember, I was 14 years old. Back in the days when there is no cell phone, no social media. Life was simple and we all still found ways to communicate :)
Haha...I remember the intercom. Always announcing some lost kid or finding people. Ahhh. How i wish we can turn back the clock to a much simpler time. Now a days, I have a lingering feeling of missing my hmong people cause i hardly see any out and about anymore.
2:23 is that khao poon? Wish they still do that during new years. Khao poon or pho or any type of broth soup. Its good for the cold weather especially since new year is during the cold season.
Everything is about money now. Back then, it was about the celebration and enjoyment. Compared to now, I think it was more well planned and organized then.
Yes!!! I love authenticity. It's great to see how our clothings have evolved in style, but the most beautiful ones are the authentic ones. You don't see that that much in the last decade or so. 😢
Omg! I’m so glad about our new clothing generations now!!! Used to wear all these old clothes and dang it was heavy as hell!😂 I was afraid to eat or drink during that time because I knew how long and terrible the women bathrooms were😂😂😂
The singing young people at the end don't look that old, the girls are maybe in their late 18-19 into their early 20s. The guy is like in the mid 30s, and they all can sing. Those were the days.
That was when the new year was $1.00 and you can get pork or chicken thigh with sticky rice for $1.00 with food stamp. And someone's child is found and go to the podium. Someone's mo van lights is on. 😂😂😂😂😂
I was 4 years old. Miss the hmong new years in the 90s so much. Thank you for the video.
Me too
I wasn’t born in this era since I’m a late ’90s kid, but watching this made me nostalgic for early 2000s Hmong New Year celebrations.
Ci Nra Hawj was born and she was 2 months 1/5
Wow, bring lots of memory back. It's good to see your beautiful smile in the video, Choua.
Thanks for the upload! Kia Ly (cover girl) was quite the movie star and attraction.
Thank you for sharing miss that era
Half of these people are probably not here anymore. Sad how fast time flies! I was only 11 years old then😢

The good old days when girls are still “All Natural’
During this time I think it was opened for 2 weeks and packed everyday. The greed wasn’t as big during this time.

Everything was cheaper and people were more friendly. Admission was affordable, now 2025-2025 FNY is ridiculous and not worth going no more.

When hmong clothes were authentic and girls didn't have layers of makeup piling on top of makeup to be beautiful.
