Quick tip, try an Magic Eraser with hydrogen peroxide on the plastics that are white, you'd be surprised how clean it comes out.

So cool!! I want to rebuild an older Honda. I built my XR150L with a 70mm big bore and a 36/31 big valve head; now I can max out 5th gear on the highway at 88mph with a 18t/46t setup. But now, I’m going to go even bigger to 300cc with a 78mm big bore and a 39/34 big valve head!😎👍

I'm digging resto mod. I had an 83 CR480R years ago and a buddy that rode with me had a 93 CR500. I could run circles around him but his was stock and mine had been tweaked a little! Man I miss that bike

The Nu Finish is actually a very good polymer finish product despite the gimmicky bottle and wording and priced pretty good at walmart. It's as good as any "pro" product out there and It lasts. I've used it for the exact same thing you are doing on a 1985 CR250 resto I did and on my jetskis and all my vehicles really. Since I'm no longer in the detail business and don't want to buy a gallon of product at a time this stuff is great in a small bottle for occasional use. The red tank I did went from chalk to absolutely brilliant bright shiny red. I went from I think 400 to 800 to 1500 then compound then glaze then Nu Finish. just a shiny and new as it was 2 years ago.

You can actually use mother's aluminum polish to get a nice vibrant shine on the plastics, I've done it and made them look brand new again.

Nice video with great info. I have a stock tank in my shed i might try to clean up just for fun. I have a clear 17L clarke tank on my 500 and it looks ridiculous but I've never ran out of fuel. Its stained right into the plastic on the inside. Thought about dying it but would have to go black.

My green Clark tank was looking shabby. So I painted it to look like metal. It looked really good in a bad way, so I put iron paint on it and rusted it. Every touch up makes it even better. 😅

You’re right but this is the OEM tank and the aftermarket tanks are just not built as well as the stock ones. So the juice is worth the squeeze for me
