I love to see a single malt bring out such enthusiasm in a review..This appears to be a real feather in the cap of Australian whisky production. Cheers gents..
This sounds like a very interesting whiskey. I am just starting to explore distilling, and am gaining a better understanding of how fermentation, and what is being fermented has such an impact on the end product. Exciting stuff from Australia!
A quick google to their website gives a very interesting read..I was wondering the abv..46%.. and price $119 Aussie dollars I presume... They were smart to give you a sample and get their product out on the internet with the single malt crowd. Cheers
Top review guys, as usual 👍. There was great interest here (Australia) when this expression was announced, so much so that the distillery held a ballot for purchases of the first batch release. I was lucky enough to score a bottle in the ballot but disappointed with it. I think your review is right on target and I agree with all your points, but I disliked the whisky for exactly those reasons. The impression I had was of a whisky that had everything including the kitchen sink thrown in just to create the biggest, boldest and most densely complex whisky possible. For me it was too busy and crowded to be enjoyable. On the other hand, their Hybrid Rye is stunning stuff and much softer. I could almost be convinced they swapped the labels on the two expressions by accident 😀
Yep , its certainly different. I dont know how you can score it when it's so different to everything else ? For innovation, yes, I concur, however for appealingness ( if thats a word) then 60.

Nice review! Just checked the price - $AU119. Finally an Australian whisky distiller not raping customers with exorbitant prices!
Lads, this is one that I should get my hands on.
Hope you can review the Archie Rose Malted Rye. I have tried it and is highly recommended.
That one is coming up next, and yes it's stunningly good.
