You should read the context of that passage when God was speaking. Also, paul referred himself as a spiritual father in the gospels..

I like how you explain marriage. Most of the time we ignore what the priorities are. We all should learn them before committing to a life long relationship.
Even considering that love is in the 3rd place, love also requires a certain level of maturity since equating “feeling nice” with love is the cause of lots of problems.
On the other hand, there a special situations where being mature doesn’t make a marriage work. If one of the spouses is not willing to listen to the other, or make reasonable changes or getting help when needed, as it happens with people with addictions, and/or with personality problems, like naricism for instance. It would be unreasonable for the mature party to expect an improvement making sacrifices for a spouse that doesn’t reciprocate the interest in making their marriage work. I understand that you are talking to regular couples ; yet, these problems are very common.
Edit: being a priest (not pope) is a great responsibility. He seems like a hands on, doer. Saving souls thru his ministry will surely earn his ticket to heaven. Virgin Most Powerful, pray for us. Queen of priests, pray for them.

Praying for you to become Catholic. Do that we may all Be one
I do too ... most importantly I learned many things I did were sins that I didn't know, I really need to go to confession.
@@lindahaddon You actually wouldn’t need to go to confession for these sins. In order for something to be a sin you need to know the action is a sin and still freely choose to perform the action. It is of course our obligation to learn and be aware of these things but by watching this video you’re doing a pretty good job :)

The only thing that 😥 disappointed me about Fr. Ripperger's AWESOME talk here was his omission of adopted children. If the earth is already overpopulated, isn't the Good Lord saying, "Enough, already! Take of these waifs, one or two, or however many you can manage, even if only one, and make them your own, and then I will Bless you beyond expectations!"
That is the voice i heard from the Lord after my diagnosis of infertility, and that is the voice i followed. My husband was not so keen, but he eventually agreed, and our family was this formed. Had we listened to this talk given by Fr. Ripperger first, it would have strengthened our marriage for the upcoming storms of life, such as alcoholism, etc., etc. But this has appeared only 3 years ago, and our marriage was over 35 years ago, when the Catholic Church was NOT teaching this at the time of our premarital "lessons" together.

@@herewegokids7 It's when a couple uses NFP to limit intercourse to 1 or 2 xs a month when it's almost impossible to get pregnant.
The debate is this:
If a couple is using tracking to make pregnancy almost impossible, and they do this always, then how is this different than birth control?
It's a natural way of doing things. But it is still intentionally avoiding kids while keeping the benefit of sex.
So is it immoral to continue having intercourse if you have no intention of having more children?
This situation occures after a couple falls into that "grave situation" territory (IE: They have a few kids then run into financial trouble, illness, or genetic situations where multiple kids are born disabled needing lifetime care or maybe the couple has elderly to watch after full time etc)
So while a couple might marry with intentions of kids, they end up wanting to stop. The Church teaches ppl in this situation that *if* the situation is grave enough they can stop having kids. However... big however...no one agrees on what a grave matter necessarily is. Therefore, since one can't be 100% sure, should they give up relations if they give up having kids? Or is avoiding kids in a more natural way with some decent reason why good enough?

The Bible states, “what GOD has put together, let no man put asunder”... does the Catholic Church presiding over the sacramental ceremony of marriage denote “god” in this context, (as in, the Church is God or is a stand in for God, speaking as God) or what two people deciding to marry and having the ceremony denote “god” in this context (as in the act of just two people deciding to marry each other stand in for God to decide what He would want)? If GOD does it, like the Scripture states, isn’t it just so as is, (meaning the two know God has joined them together and the ceremony is to make it public). and wouldn’t this mean something supernatural and binding occurs between the two by God’s Hand alone? Why would a sacramental ceremony bind two people in marriage? How is that God’s doing- especially when people can be tricked as there are annulments granted? Seems to me all this denies God’s part in the two becoming one flesh and it’s the people, not a God, putting together. It’s just a whole bunch of people either playing god or denoting themselves as god.
My point is, what does Holy Scripture mean by “what GOD put together”? Father spoke how just “love” doesn’t suffice for a marriage, but the Scripture not only supports it, but seems to point to a stronger-than-usual type of love to which the two must seem to know that GOD put them together. Like a supernatural love, IN GOD, Through God and By God, to which is spiritually known by the couple.

Holy Matrimony is a vocation and a unique Sacrament which the contracting couple administer to each other conferring bodily rights to one another in the presence of a witness (Ordained person) representing Christ and Christ’s Church.
The priest cannot administer the sacrament of Matrimony; only the contracting couple can do that. The priest (or deacon) is simply the official witness, representing Christ and Christ’s Church. The priest’s presence is normally essential; without him there is no sacrament and no marriage. But he does not confer the sacrament.
