I have one of these and don't have any problems at all. It plays well, and sounds decent for this price range. The neck is comfortable with no issues. Bought it used for only $250. I like to sit on the couch and play it just to relax.
This was my first guitar in 2019 and I still play it daily. I have done nothing but change strings and when I first got it I stood up oblivious to the ceiling fan above me and stuck the headstock straight into it. No ill effect.
My nephew has that guitar. I didn't have a problem with the neck but yeah, the fret work wasn't great. I can do my own work so we didn't need a luthier. The pickup is nice, I agree with you there. Overall, I don't think it's quite as bad as your review. As a starter, I think its reasonable for the cost.
We own & gig out with Fender Paramount Parlor guitars with the same pickups and love them. I think in any brand, you can get a stinker. On a higher end brand, I tried about 4 guitars from different stores before finding one that "spoke to me". If possible , best to physically play instruments before buying.
What do you recommend as a guitar with lower action for woman to play that likes a warm mellow sound and decent pickup. I was looking at yamaha or Taylor cutaway. You really seem to know what you are talking about. Thanks. Teresa
Great question! So far Recording king and Harley Benton make the best bang for the buck under $200. Yamaha starter acoustic are usually in that list too! Great quality control and tone for the price. Is that the price point you are looking at?
hey, could you help me? I want to buy my first guitar and I was contemplating buying the one in this video or the cc 60 sce (do you know if besides the case that comes with the cc 140 there is any difference?) .... But after watching this video I'm not so convinced about this fender and I was thinking about the Harley Benton CLA-15MCE SolidWood, which one do you think is better value for money? in your opinion, which one would you choose?
I would say Harley Benton just from my experience with the brand. I would still have it checked out at a local shop to make sure the specs are correct!
thank you very much for your kind reply May I ask you another question? I know the value of HB lies in it for being a budget friendly brand, knowing this, do you think the CLA-15MCE solidwoods is still worth for 350€? Since where I'm from that's what it would cost me due to taxes and shipping cost. Or do you think that for that money I could get something better? @@RamonaMusicCenter
Nah he might have got a damaged unit from warehouse, its not bad at all. Also I think you were too fast to judge, a company like fender doesn’t sell faulty items like that.
We actually get a fair amount of the cheap major brand stuff stuff with big problems. Same with some epiphones. I've noticed over the 25 years in retail that it can be the biggest companies that try to maximize profits at some point until the customers collectively call them out on it. Some brands like Ibanez never went through this though
I have a older CD140 fender in spruce…. Also own a taylor 410ce and an older Alvarez… my Fender to me is best sounding unplugged that I own when all have same strings etc….

Glad to hear it!

I'm on my second Fender Concert FA235, the bridge started to detach on the first one within 3 months, the replacement is starting to do the same.
Bummer! They definitely have some quality control issues.

Maybe we got a bad one in the batch! I'll check others if I get a chance
I love mine. Got it off Amazon. Haven’t done anything but play it. I will polish the frets when I change strings but that’s it. Very good guitar.
Good to hear! Sounds like a quality control issue so i'll keep checking others that come into the shop
Likewise

Certainly true for a bunch of Gibsons over the years. Fender Paramounts are wonderful! Totally different beast and probably even a different factory.
Some sad, but good to know information.
I have the C D 140 SCE. No rough frets ,no high frets . All mahogany and a great sound ,especially when plugged in.
Glad you got a good one! What year did you get?
Good review it's a sad little guitar, just shy of a wind chime.

Thanks! What is your budget?
I have this guitar and have the exact same high fret problem on the 14th/15th one.
What is the best least expensive acoustic, electric you have played?

@@RamonaMusicCenter What about in the $500 or less? Something that is easy to chord that would be great for a beginner.
@@craigstrickland1969 , Yamaha 8 series, FG & FS are great sub $500 acoustics
@@smckeon28 Thanks!
Please make c video of this model to the CC 60 SCE and Yamaha APX 600.
Ill try to find one!
@@RamonaMusicCenter Thanks.
Just needs a good setup

Some older Fender guitars can be great! I've noticed them cutting corners on the more recent stuff.
One of the most biassed guitar snobbery reviews ever ..... 🤣🤣
lol Why so? I teach full time and these guitars would be brutal for any student. I have other rave Fender reviews and reviews for cheaper guitars too.
"Really really really budget stuff" -> 400€ 😭What
This was interesting because when we got it in, I thought it felt like a $200 guitar so at 400, that is a horrible guitar!
@@RamonaMusicCenter Good to know I should REALLY avoid it then, hahaha
