Seems to me that Ronova, despite being the god of Death, might be the "kindest" of the Four Shades. Bending rules to help humanity doesn't feel like a common Celestia move.

One last thing remaining in Natlan story is the Celestial nail that Hoyo showed in the version 5.0 trailer...they have still not showed that nail again and it's purpose

In raiden 2nd story quest,Makoto negotiated with istharoth to plant sacred sakura seed in the plane of makoto's consciousness in current time such that it'll be planted in the past. in both cases it was for protection of leylines.If ronova's payment of eternal life comes with a debt of death of the pyro archon, imagine what would be the debt that would be taken by istharoth themselves? Eternal cycle of withering and planting?

Heavenly Principles might get mad at her but nothing suggest that she has to be punished as long as the end of the deal is fufilled. After watching this video i feel very sorry for Ronova...she seems to be a very kind God, helping people even after knowing that she may face severe consequences for doing so... but she still helped people and maybe had to face some form of punishment for it...and in the end she didn't even get her payment for borrowing her power...

The main issue is that Citlali explicitly said that "Only Mavuika's death can clear the debt" at the beginning of Act 5, and she also saw Mavuika's fate ending with death. Not only the game takes a LOT of time to build the fact that Citlali's prophetic visions are never wrong, so we're led to believe everything she says, but we also know that fate cannot be changed, it always happens in some form or another, so it doesn't really matter if Capitano sacrifices himself, Mavuika should still have to die in order to clear the debt. However, in truth, it appears to be a matter of bad translation, because in the chinese dialogue, the conditions for the pact are much more vague. Citlali instead states that only a death as good as Mavuika's will be enough to clear the debt, leaving the door open to Capitano's exit since they are both perceived as equals. Also, I don't think Ronova had to give up on her rule. A death technically occured, since Capitano's soul went to the Night Kingdom and fused with the LotN. It's just that his body cannot die, so it is still there, sitting on the throne, empty.
So, Citlali isn't all knowing, she still a human shaman at the end of the day. But either way, it's a transaction. Like fully. In this case, The Ruler of Death is the supplier, The Lord of the Night is the retailer and the Pyro Archon is the buyer and user. When the Pyro Archon tried to pay though, it turned out that The Captain covered her bill and paid it for her. That's it. That's what the Lord of Night tries to explain. The payment the supplier had to be death, but the retailer and payee essentially forced the supplier to give a discount it didn't want to.
Fate cannot EASILY be changed, but I do believe it can be changed. People also didn't know exactly who the Captain was or his worth. Also, the Traveler was involved, who has been shown to be a bit special, so probably changes everyone's fate just by being present and assisting (I'd love to see more on this in the future). I feel like Natlan and Fontaine are proving that things can be changed through drastic measures. After all, everyone was supposed to dissolve in Fontaine. It was a prophecy, it SHOULD have happened, but it didn't because of what Focalors sacrificed. Thus far, going by those two nations, it seems like fate can change if you big brain your way around the higher powers. Focalors deceived the Heavenly Principles; Capitano forced Ronova to decide between impossible choices. Slowly as we go through this game we're learning that fate can be changed and I'm damned curious about the upcoming region and quests to find out more.
@@YsCelia remember in Mavuika quest, Xbalanque get resurrection for 1 day but he doesnt have a body, only his soul is revive. If a soul leaving the body is death than capitano have been very easy to do so. But that doesnt happen and suggest the immortality curse also bounded to both his body and soul.
@@shotkizz3274 I think you're right, the game is explicit with the fact that it is a paradox. His soul did not simply leave because from human perspective it would just be the same as death. The curse is all about suffering, there needs to be an immortal soul for an individual to suffer eternally.
Someone finally gets it. I get so tired of people getting mad at Zhongli for not telling us anything. It's like dude, he remembers EVERYTHING. You think the Heavenly Principles is going to let someone like that just walk around without consequences? Imagine the consequences if he actually DID break his contract...
Why do I feel like the end of Genshin's story would force us into making a choice. 1. Destroy the Heavenly principles and let the Abyss take over Teyvat. 2. Help preserve the Heavenly principles that would keep their Tyranny over teyvat, I.E the Gods, Sovereigns, Descenders, Fate, etc. The Lore runs deep and filled with shades of grey

I think he scarified by getting killed and he transferred his immortality to the Lord of the Night. So, the rules aren't broken. But more importantly, I think it's because Ronova is very kind too that she let this happen under arrogant and stoic facade. The funny thing is everyone tricking Heavenly Principles left and right...

Capitano found a loophole regarding the restrictions, authority, and demands of Ronova and Yohualtecuhtin. And because of that, a paradox was possible. He used that to be finally be able granted the sweet release of death from his mortal body, his curse of immortality, and the release of the accumulated lost souls into their proper resting places, along with Capitano's final resting place, which is ultimately, a fitting end. (Considering other regions rejected the release of the souls)
He probably couldn't do it in the other regions because the souls weren't from Teyvat/the ley lines, since at the time the Night kingdom was still a place separate from the ley lines or smt like that.
Ronova didnt agree to cancel her rule of death. She merely accepted Capitanos exchange for Mavuika that would create the paradox to allow his merge with Lord of the Night and fixing of the Leylines. I think she realized that it would fix a lot of problems for her too.
Of course she agreed. There were two rules that threatened to cause the paradox, immortality and death. Capitano told her to pick between them. Then she said the curse of immortality must stand, which means she revoked the rule of death.

Because neither of these outcomes result in a punishment for her? The shades exchanging their power for a price is perfectly acceptable, and she got that price. She’s inherently a kind god, she wants to help humanity. Also, ronova DID have to wait. She’s the god of death not because she controls death as in killing, but living. The subject themselves has to choose how to die for her price to be carried out. Mavuika wanted also to merge with the LoN, just as capitano, but he could do it in a way that would save natlan rather than still have an inevitable fate. If anything, allowing this HELPED ronova because the HP HATEEEEE the abyss. They hate abyssal power. If she allowed mavuika to merge, the LoN still wouldn’t have had enough time! The abyss WOULD have come back eventually because the leylines would have been completely destroyed, natlan would have no natural defence. An entire nation belonging to the HP being swallowed by the abyss? They’d likely have killed her for that.
You explained it better than the Genshin writers (or at least the Genshin translators), a few lines from the Lord of the Night saying she was the one that chooses who dies would have cleared it all for me.

except it was explained wrong. First, the whole timeline of "heavenly principles created leylines before they even had control over teyvat (aka fighting the dragons)" makes no sense whatsoever. And second: ronova clearly said "if he fails to meet MY requirements", so the lord of the night is NOT in charge of the negotiation. Ronova absolutely could've said no.
To be fair, Hoyo's writers actually presented it well, but the lore is very scattered, and the average Genshin player has a Tik Tok attention span, so it's hard. For example, how many people even read Before Sun and Moon? or remember that Phanes, the Primordial one, is an androgynous being? or remember the overt line of the Lord of the Night which contextualizes all of Ronova's actions: Ronova loves mankind? This very line explains why, even if Ronova could say no, she'd never say it: Ronova loves mankind. She overstepped her own limitations for it, it explains why she created the night kingdom or even did a contract with Xbalanque: Because she loves mankind. Why would she not make the night kingdom immortal since she was the one whom helped creating it in the first place, oversteeping her own boundaries?

That would mean defying the Heavenly Principles by disregarding the one rule she's supposed to uphold, right? I think she agreed to the paradox, which resulted in Capitano endlessly dying and living. Hence why he's now unable to move and stuck on a throne (it very much reminds me of Warhammer 40K). And since the deal was supposed to be a death for extended lifetime for Lord of the Night, it now turned into endless dying of Capitano = endless living of Lord of the Night.
Hello! It really doesn't matter what you or I think. The game confirms what happens in the cutscene so we don't have to theorize. It is described as - "To sustain the curse of immortality, the Ruler of Death relinquishes her demand for the price of "death." The word relinquish means to give up, renounce.
In the cutscene when Capitano asked to remove one of the two rules, she said "the curse of immortality must stand" meaning she abandonned her other rule

@@AfterLandzWhen you look in the archive, the section on quests will contain the dialogue from archon quests you've done. That's where it says Ronova upheld the curse of immortality and negated the rule of death.
To put simply why Ronova can't say no, it's because the curse of immortality was placed upon them by the Heavenly Principles as in her masters and that would mean disobeying the authority once again. As a Shade she is not allowed to interfere with the lives of mortals unlike the Angels yet she had done so multiple times for Natlan. The Heavenly Principles eventually caught wind of this and punished her for overstepping her boundaries. She can't undo the curse of immortality on the Captain is because again, it's not a curse she placed of her will but of her masters and saying no to the Captain's sacrifice would again be interfering with fate as it was the Lord of the Night who made an agreement with the Captain to make him the replacement for Mavuika's death. At least now Ronova has been freed from looking after Natlan as the Lord of the Night's life will fade no longer.

It's like Arthas becoming one with the Lich King but his soul is no longer in his body but elsewhere while his body remains there sitting on the frozen throne of Xbalanque.

Because Capitano is a man who sticks to his code of ethics. He inspires people just as much as Mavuika does. That's shown by the fact Arlecchino says he's worthy of respect regardless of his power and by Wanderer saying he's righteous in their respective voice lines. Viktor, the fatuus in the cathedral, also wanted to transfer from Signora's group to Capitano's. Remember also, that during the archon quest Ororon described Capitano's soul as radiant and resilient.

honestly speaking, the lore timeline is now completely messed up and doesn't makes any sense anymore whatsoever, especially how it's explained in the video. 1. previously, it was said that the primordial one fought the dragons and that the heavenly principles are something else than the primordial one. But here, it is said that the heavenly principles+shades fought the dragons. 2. it is entirely impossible and implausible that the heavenly principles created the leylines BEFORE defeating the dragons, because teyvat was still under their control until the fight, so it's impossible for the leylines to get shattered during the fight. Also, the video didn't give an explanation to the question in the title, because there is no information as to what ronova's "requirements" are at all and why capitano meets them in the first place.

Then a long time later the archon war happened and then later the captaclysm. The dragon fihgt within natlan had nothing to do with the HP. So when exactly was the second fight between HP and dragons supposed to be?
But that doesn't really respond to logic. First, and this is a personal question, where is it mentioned that the Shades cannot interfere with the fate of humans, but angels can? Now, following logic, based on the order in which the characters express themselves, we can infer a hierarchy, which would be: Heavenly Principles > Shades > Angels > Archons > Humans. Following this, if the one at the top imposes that they cannot die, then how can an angel decide that someone dies? The angel chooses the accursed one, but that choice should be blocked because it doesn't meet the requirement. If that were the case, the people of Khaenri'ah would have already committed suicide, and that's not the case-they can't. Again, that curse cannot be revoked. The paradox inevitably occurs if the Captain sacrifices their life and mixes it with the angel, but you can't do that from the start. If the Seelies were cursed for much less than that, and if this angel decides to choose someone whom the Heavenly Principles specifically cursed, somehow defying their authority, what would the punishment for that be? The result still works moderately well if you change the type of punishment imposed on Khaenri'ah, but it also doesn’t seem logical to me that it was Ronova’s only option, rather to forsake the curse or the rule. Then again, that one comes from above shade and angel, both of them shouldnt be able to decide that.
Simple Whatever Capitano is doing is Fate Shades don’t have any authority to interfere with the fate Yohua is an angel , guardian of humanity so she has the authority than Ronova here

The Natlan Ignition teaser shows the characters refer to the pilgrimage as the “Tournament” (Which its called after Mavuika SQ) So maybe Natlans just getting started and Capitano returns for the Tournament somehow, “I say as they drag me back to the hospital”

The number of voicelines feels odd to some for a character who wouldn't become playable, and as of version 5.3, none of the Harbingers' "About The Captain" voicelines have been edited or changed to be in past tense, which is a good indication. 1.8.- In addition, Mikhail and Lyudmila, our two Fatui diplomats who have been standing in front of the Goth Grand Hotel for 4 years, were given new dialogue in version 5.3, and what they say about Capitano has a more optimistic tone, compared to the Fair Lady, and the line "Apparently, the Tsaritsa has decided to keep his position as-is..." has given people a good amount of hope. 2.- Arguments based on Hoyoverse promotional material: 2.1.- Capitano, unlike other characters or NPC's who, having also been important to the storyline, has been featured in two version cover arts, 5.0, and 5.3. I went back and looked at every single version cover art, and so far, there have only been two cases of a character showing up on a cover art and having their playability in doubt/unconfirmed, this being Dottore who appeared on the version 3.1 cover art, and of course, Capitano. Other than these two, every single character who has been shown on cover arts has become playable. No humanoid NPC's have shown up on a cover art either, with the exception of Paimon of course. 2.2.- Capitano shows up in the Natlan Ignition Teaser: A Name Forged in Flames, and on the thumbnail for it. This is giving him a lot of visibility and promotion, and, if we look at the previous teaser, Overture Teaser: The Final Feast, for Fontaine, every single character shown in that video eventually became playable. Some have now theorized that the ignition teaser takes place after 5.3, instead of before/during 5.0, potentially lending more credence to the possibility of Capitano "reviving" or becoming playable for some. 2.3.- Some think that, during version 5.0 and 5.3's livestream, the developers gave Capitano more screentime and relevance than what they might give to a character that has no future in the game past the current version. 2.4.- During the version 5.3 livestream, Hoyoverse showed an image teasing 7 characters that they said we would meet in the "next 6 months". Counting these 7 characters, and all the already released Natlan characters since version 5.0, we have a total of 16 characters, which differs from the pattern of 17 characters released per region that has held somewhat strong since Inazuma, thus, people speculate Capitano could be the 17th character. Nonetheless, he doesn't have to release in Natlan to become playable, and, Hoyoverse has broken patterns before, especially in the past few months. 2.5.- In Mavuika's Character Trailer, we see a sun being eclipsed, starting in minute 1:26, and with Capitano's sword being named Antumbra, which means annular eclipse, people have seen this as another tease of Capitano's playability, but it also could be seen as Natlan being eclipsed by the abyss and Mavuika undoing the eclipse with her flames. 2.6.- Not so much related to promotional material, but I'd be remiss to not mention this point: Capitano is a beloved character by a lot of people, and as a lot of people have pointed out, not making him playable would be the very definition of throwing away money. Furthermore, Capitano, a harbinger, has been portrayed as non-antagonistic, heroic, chivalrous, honorable, etc. and has a decent relationship with the Traveler and other important "friendly" characters, further removing the usual barrier people think Harbingers must get over to become playable without some sort of rewrite or redesign. Nonetheless, I also have to mention that Hoyoverse sometimes makes very strange decisions, and has shown that they're not necessarily always going to go for the easiest ways to make money (skins), so this argument hinges more on people's ideas of how Hoyoverse operates.
@@Schinak 3.- Arguments based on interpretations and theories that have stemmed from Chapter V: Act V: Incandescent Ode of Resurrection and previous content: 3.1.- The Jesus parallels theory: A lot of people have theorized that Capitano's constellation on the Fatui wheel is the three nails (this is unconfirmed but highly plausible), which in itself is a direct parallel to Triclavianism and the symbolism used to represent it. Triclavianism is the belief that Jesus was crucified using three nails. At the end of version 5.3's archon quest, three swords, Traveler's, Mavuika's and Capitano's were shown in a similar position to the three nails on the wheel, furthering this theory. The paralells to Jesus have been furthered by Capitano "dying" while saving hundreds of souls in the process, kind of like Jesus died to save humanity. The obvious conclusion to this theory, is Capitano "reviving" after a period of time. Some have speculated this might happen in april or 3 updates from now, if Hoyoverse really wanted to harp on the Jesus parallel. 3.2.- Also along the same line of paralells with the christian faith, during the cutscene where Capitano confronts Ronova, he is shown surrounded by blue butterflies, which, in christian religion symbolize resurrection. 3.3.- Parallels to the Lich King: This one has been used a lot for memes, but it has some substance to it. After the conclusion of 5.3, Capitano remains seated on the Throne of Primal Fire that can be found in Ochkanatlan, surrounded by his ice. In World of Warcraft, the Lich King's soul merged with that of a human, as a result he became dormant on his throne and awakened some time later. The parallel of Capitano, who merges with the Lord of the Night, and then remains seated in a state of stasis on the throne to that of the Lich King is evident, and we know Hoyoverse isn't shy about drawing from other influential videogame franchises for their games. Although somewhat unrelated, others have also noted that Capitano still appears to be breathing when sitting upon the throne, whether this is a quirk in how the character model behaves that Hoyoverse didn't bother to change or whether it actually has story relevance is up in the air though. 3.4.- The Fatui Wheel theory: Based on the Fatui Wheel Hoyoverse released at the start of the game which contains the constelattions of all the harbingers, people have long speculated that this wheel shows the order in which we meet/fight the harbingers, starting with Childe and going counter-clockwise (so far, the order of the wheel has been followed to a tee). In accordance with the wheel, people have now been speculating that we have to meet Columbina first (represented by the crying dove), in order to then meet or fight Capitano as a weekly boss after her (represented by the three nails). This would indicate Capitano will come back only after Columbina. 3.5.- The Blazing Flint Ore theory: After Act V concludes in version 5.3, you can offer Blazing Flint Ore to the Throne of Primal Fire in order to unlock Pyro MC's constellations. As of 5.3, only 5 of 6 Blazing Flint Ore's are obtainable, and, making the link that Flint can spark a fire, and with Capitano sitting on the Throne surrounded/encased in ice, the theory has been proposed that upon offering all 6 Ores we might "thaw" Capitano and release him from his stasis-like state, thus making him available to become playable again.
This interference with fate theory seems to be the best explanation I've seen so far, and it's better than the one I came up with. I still have a problem with it, as it requires interpretation to arrive at and I feel like this kind of thing should be spelled out in canon or "word of god." But I have another challenge to this interpretation. Ronova said she would collect many lives if the person who had to pay the cost could not conquer their fear of death. If Ronova's executor for the rule of death was always going to be the Lord of the Night, how was she going to get her to kill countless people?

The 4 Shining Shades (an oxymoron) and their management of humanity is like that of a titan trying to build a boat in a bottle. A small bottle, and that boat is Teyvat. One false move and the whole thing collapses (again for like the 56th apocalypse).
The bigger question still stand, why the heavenly principle go so far as to curse entire Khaenri'ah with the curse of immortality? Is this really just punishment for the sake of punishment?
War against celestia is not in 1000 years ahead in the future (if you want to wait for supposedly the "return of capitano"). In a few years after we visited Khaenriah and Snezhaya, we will streak Cekestia...

In a conversation with Yohualtecuhtin Mavuika talks about how the First Descender fought the elemental dragons, and during that fight, they destroyed a "corner of the world", which, in this case, is Natlan. (Something along these lines at the very least)
In addition to what the other person said, the rules of Natlan and the night kingdom were created during the time of Xbalanque in the archon war. That means the ley lines were destroyed before then because the night kingdom was created as a replacement for the ley lines.
About the cataclysm, it just found Natlan's ley lines as deteriorated as they were and made it worse such that Natlan would only last for a period of 500 years before its utter destruction by the Abyss. This is what guided Mavuika to make a 500-year plan.
ronova somehow hates heavenly principle too because she was the goddess of khanriah.. she even after they refused to have any gods loved them but heavenly principle destroyed them.. maybe we will later find that heavenly principle forced ronova to curse them as a punishment.. that's the main reason when capitano showed that much arrogance she didn't even became angry because it was her plan too.. she somehow supported it..
There was no god of khaenri’ah. That was the foundation of the whole nation. Are you implying she was the blood moon to the blood moon dynasty? We would need to know more than the lore currently says, which is that khaenri’ah exists in a place “where the gods’ gaze does not fall”

A lot of people are confused about the options Capitano forced Ronova to choose between. Capitano merging with the Lord of the Night isn't one of them. That's the metaphorical gun he's pointing at Ronova to make a choice, and it's something he's going to do regardless of which option Ronova chooses. The choice Ronova has to make is which rule of death she'll retract to avoid Capitano's merging with the Lord of the Night becoming a paradox. i.e. There's nothing for Ronova to say no to.
She can just force him to unmerge. If he still try to merge then HP themselves will get involved and at that point it's no longer her problem. She just let him merge because it's less work for her + still not her problem cause HP will just forcefully remove Cap if necessary

This made so much more sense! Before that, my head canon was: Ronova didn't say no because she is also interested in what happens when an individual cursed with immortality is faced with death. Based on what I understand about what's happening with Capitano, I assumed he is in a state of limbo, both dead and alive. Seems like I was just overthinking it through, thanks for the clarifications!
She didn’t forsake any rule. Capitano’s body is immortal, but he rules over the night kingdom and thus is technically dead since he’s in the land of death. Your conclusion is wrong
That’s what I’ve been trying to explain to people. The Captain is gone. His body now belongs to the lord of the night, one she has no need for but it gives her immortality. The Captain being reborn as Thrain in the future is the likely outcome here

I think a big factor was that the Rule of Death was a secret from the Heavenly Principles. Had it been public knowledge she could have contested the issue, but since it's secret she couldn't do anything that would risk bringing it to the attention of the Heavenly Principles. Basically, she would rather undo the rule she made in secret than undo a rule she made publicly, and she would rather avoid making a public scene than do anything that risks a public confrontation with an angel - as that might get reported to her superior and reveal her entire secret.
God I loved this quest so much! When the lore lores ❤ and I still havent read this patche's readings I hope the few questions I have still can be answered. That and obviously the final chapter of Little One quest. Pieceing together Natlan lore has been one of the most delightful things Ive done in genshin
Here my take into this, the rules of the world is like literal from the sound of it. Like it literally dictate even beyond just this is like some government rules but the literal fabrics of the world. in our world there something that scientists tries to achieve called the theory of everything, how molecules become molecules and how those that made molecules becomes galaxies. What I am trying to say, the deity who created Teyvat or set the rules for Teyvat literally build them from the ground up, They define how something should take shape, They define what things that could take shape in the world, even how it could be interacted with. Like a literal god who have a book where They define the world that They have created using this book. Down to the very physics that is why everything require elemental energy, heck if we to bring our phones there I doubt it would work properly. But I dont think the whole of Teyvat is like the entirety of the universe, but I think it was taken from a bigger part and being put inside an egg like some theorist say. From there the deity who created the world fashion it to their liking, even setting up rule for the things that I said, it become a heaven a paradise if you will. But the larger universe still exist, where it own rules applies, I mean They take on a concept that already exist on a much more smaller scale which means the materials literally came from outside and along with it comes it own original rules, which become the weak spots that the Abyss tries to take advantage off
It's mistranslation. Rules of the World = Heavenly Principles. And Natlan becomes a weak spot not due to the rules but because the war between Phanes and Nibelung completely destroyed Natlan's leylines thus Ronova was sent to make the Night Kingdom as a replacement
While "rule" is the term used in-game, I think it's more accurate call death a "price" of using Ronova's powers. She can waive the price if she wants to (or is forced to in this case).
Something about this video that buggers me more than it's focus is, what is the source of the ley lines having been put in place by the HP? How did the HP establish leylines before winning their war against the dragons if they were the invaders? Why would they do that and risk having this integral piece of infrastructure shattered in the war? I always assumed it just belonged to the dragons before the invaders came, it's the only thing that would make sense given that without leylines, teyvat would just be abyssal goop juice that nobody would be interested to settle in.

There were two wars, let's just say HP won first and ruled for a time and created ley lines. Later, Dragon King came back with the power of darkness and the war of vengeance started which ended with Natlan's ley lines being damaged.

In my perspective the immortality of Capitano still resides in his body and of course the lord of the night as well since both have been merged, however though his body may be immortal but it is now just an empty husk without a soul. Since Ronova said "the curse of immortality must stand, use it to fullfil your final wish". She didn't directly release the restrictions of immortality from Capitano's body but the souls of all natlanese and kheanrians were dispersed now resting peacefully in the ley lines
Small correction near the end. Renova does not cancel the rule of death. She says it will be upheld. Implying he is still immortal, which was the whole point of making the Lord of the night immortal by association.
if Capitano will be the new master of ley lines, means he can infiltrate the ley line of every nation in Teyvat? so he exactly isn't dead, as his memory is still alive and controls the ley lines, he can possibly infiltrate the Tree of Irminsul and gather as much information in Teyvat that may help Fatuus complete their mission to dethrone Heavenly Principles.

Here’s my theory on the primordial, one and more specifically the precursor the precursor are the creators of all life in the galaxy and the universe as well, and the twins are the last sole surviving precursors because the precursors and the primordial one are one and the same however the when the primordial one and the precursor create the heavenly principles and the precursor planning to give life to humanity, gravely angered the heavenly principles which led them down a genocidal path on killing all the precursor, but as for the precursor fled to the primordial one for their own safety. They were betrayed by the the primordial one hence why they like the idea of having the heavenly principles and they don’t need the precursors anymore hence why we see both aether and lumine the last surviving precursors travel world after world for millennia for years and years were talking billions of years traveling to find a new home that is similar to theirs teyvat but unfortunately, the heavenly principles found them. Because from what we know, we don’t know the backstory of both the travelers because they remain a mystery to this day, but I found a very good theory is that both siblings are the corrupted remains of the precursor, the ancient gods of the universe who created all life in all existence Before the primordial one.

The abyss IS a corroding force period and there is no real peaceful coexistence with it. think of it as similar as Unicron from transformers. Unicron is a devourer of worlds and the prime evil in the transformers franchise but in this pursuit he still subjugated minions to help him. ANd a similar thing has happened in genshin with the lectors and other abyss monsters

Ok so I had trouble understanding this paradox but thanks to your video I completely get it now. Ronova's rule is that anyone who uses her power is going to pay with death. Mavuika, through the Lord of the Night, used the Ode of Resurrection, a power that Xbalanque "stole" from Ronova. The other rule is that Capitano is cursed with immortality, and isn't allowed to die. But since the LotN can pay with Capitano's life, a death equal to Mavuika, this created a paradox that Ronova had no power to stop So she had to forsake one of her rules to prevent it. Ronova disregarded the price of death using her power, knowing that the punishment for removing Capitano's immortality would probably be a bigger punishment (since he's from Khanriah). Thus Capitano isn't dead, but his body is empty. His soul is merged with the LotN, fixing the ley lines and making the night kingdom immortal. I still have no hopes that he'll be playable. Thanks for the explanation though!
For everyone still wondering why Ronova couldn't refuse... simply put; it may have something to do with power level - Mavuika and Capitano both acknowledged each other to be in equal strength, both now and likely in their prime. As the power of the Pyro Archon wavers between each individual respectfully, that means at any point one Pyro Archon could be weaker than Ei while a future one could be stronger than Zhongli. Perhaps the payment for it to work required a certain level of power to be accepted as to make it an equivalent exchange. In addition; Ronova interfered three times in the past to save Humanity... it's likely she wanted to interfer again and this time had the Lord of the Night as a perfectly valid reason to justify her actions in accepting it without breaking the Heavenly Principals orders. Essentially... she never lost anything - she got what she wanted. In every sense of the word.

After watching this video i feel very sorry for Ronova...she seems to be a very kind God, helping people even after knowing that she may face severe consequences for doing so... but she still helped people and maybe had to face some form of punishment for it...and in the end she didn't even get her payment for borrowing her power...

The main issue is that Citlali explicitly said that "Only Mavuika's death can clear the debt" at the beginning of Act 5, and she also saw Mavuika's fate ending with death. Not only the game takes a LOT of time to build the fact that Citlali's prophetic visions are never wrong, so we're led to believe everything she says, but we also know that fate cannot be changed, it always happens in some form or another, so it doesn't really matter if Capitano sacrifices himself, Mavuika should still have to die in order to clear the debt. However, in truth, it appears to be a matter of bad translation, because in the chinese dialogue, the conditions for the pact are much more vague. Citlali instead states that only a death as good as Mavuika's will be enough to clear the debt, leaving the door open to Capitano's exit since they are both perceived as equals.
Also, I don't think Ronova had to give up on her rule. A death technically occured, since Capitano's soul went to the Night Kingdom and fused with the LotN. It's just that his body cannot die, so it is still there, sitting on the throne, empty.
So, Citlali isn't all knowing, she still a human shaman at the end of the day.
But either way, it's a transaction. Like fully. In this case, The Ruler of Death is the supplier, The Lord of the Night is the retailer and the Pyro Archon is the buyer and user. When the Pyro Archon tried to pay though, it turned out that The Captain covered her bill and paid it for her.
That's it. That's what the Lord of Night tries to explain. The payment the supplier had to be death, but the retailer and payee essentially forced the supplier to give a discount it didn't want to.
Fate cannot EASILY be changed, but I do believe it can be changed. People also didn't know exactly who the Captain was or his worth. Also, the Traveler was involved, who has been shown to be a bit special, so probably changes everyone's fate just by being present and assisting (I'd love to see more on this in the future).
I feel like Natlan and Fontaine are proving that things can be changed through drastic measures. After all, everyone was supposed to dissolve in Fontaine. It was a prophecy, it SHOULD have happened, but it didn't because of what Focalors sacrificed. Thus far, going by those two nations, it seems like fate can change if you big brain your way around the higher powers. Focalors deceived the Heavenly Principles; Capitano forced Ronova to decide between impossible choices. Slowly as we go through this game we're learning that fate can be changed and I'm damned curious about the upcoming region and quests to find out more.

If a soul leaving the body is death than capitano have been very easy to do so. But that doesnt happen and suggest the immortality curse also bounded to both his body and soul.

She could easily just tell Mavuika to bungee jump no rope like Ajaw or "wait until Fate takes it's course" and collect it later. She chooses not to because it's Cap's fault so HP will just deal with him instead of her

Capitano found a loophole regarding the restrictions, authority, and demands of Ronova and Yohualtecuhtin.
And because of that, a paradox was possible. He used that to be finally be able granted the sweet release of death from his mortal body, his curse of immortality, and the release of the accumulated lost souls into their proper resting places, along with Capitano's final resting place, which is ultimately, a fitting end. (Considering other regions rejected the release of the souls)
He probably couldn't do it in the other regions because the souls weren't from Teyvat/the ley lines, since at the time the Night kingdom was still a place separate from the ley lines or smt like that.
Ronova didnt agree to cancel her rule of death. She merely accepted Capitanos exchange for Mavuika that would create the paradox to allow his merge with Lord of the Night and fixing of the Leylines. I think she realized that it would fix a lot of problems for her too.
Of course she agreed. There were two rules that threatened to cause the paradox, immortality and death. Capitano told her to pick between them. Then she said the curse of immortality must stand, which means she revoked the rule of death.

Because neither of these outcomes result in a punishment for her? The shades exchanging their power for a price is perfectly acceptable, and she got that price. She’s inherently a kind god, she wants to help humanity.
Also, ronova DID have to wait. She’s the god of death not because she controls death as in killing, but living. The subject themselves has to choose how to die for her price to be carried out. Mavuika wanted also to merge with the LoN, just as capitano, but he could do it in a way that would save natlan rather than still have an inevitable fate. If anything, allowing this HELPED ronova because the HP HATEEEEE the abyss. They hate abyssal power. If she allowed mavuika to merge, the LoN still wouldn’t have had enough time! The abyss WOULD have come back eventually because the leylines would have been completely destroyed, natlan would have no natural defence. An entire nation belonging to the HP being swallowed by the abyss? They’d likely have killed her for that.
You explained it better than the Genshin writers (or at least the Genshin translators), a few lines from the Lord of the Night saying she was the one that chooses who dies would have cleared it all for me.

And second: ronova clearly said "if he fails to meet MY requirements", so the lord of the night is NOT in charge of the negotiation. Ronova absolutely could've said no.
To be fair, Hoyo's writers actually presented it well, but the lore is very scattered, and the average Genshin player has a Tik Tok attention span, so it's hard.
For example, how many people even read Before Sun and Moon? or remember that Phanes, the Primordial one, is an androgynous being? or remember the overt line of the Lord of the Night which contextualizes all of Ronova's actions: Ronova loves mankind?
This very line explains why, even if Ronova could say no, she'd never say it: Ronova loves mankind. She overstepped her own limitations for it, it explains why she created the night kingdom or even did a contract with Xbalanque: Because she loves mankind. Why would she not make the night kingdom immortal since she was the one whom helped creating it in the first place, oversteeping her own boundaries?

And since the deal was supposed to be a death for extended lifetime for Lord of the Night, it now turned into endless dying of Capitano = endless living of Lord of the Night.

The word relinquish means to give up, renounce.

@@AfterLandzWhen you look in the archive, the section on quests will contain the dialogue from archon quests you've done. That's where it says Ronova upheld the curse of immortality and negated the rule of death.
To put simply why Ronova can't say no, it's because the curse of immortality was placed upon them by the Heavenly Principles as in her masters and that would mean disobeying the authority once again. As a Shade she is not allowed to interfere with the lives of mortals unlike the Angels yet she had done so multiple times for Natlan. The Heavenly Principles eventually caught wind of this and punished her for overstepping her boundaries. She can't undo the curse of immortality on the Captain is because again, it's not a curse she placed of her will but of her masters and saying no to the Captain's sacrifice would again be interfering with fate as it was the Lord of the Night who made an agreement with the Captain to make him the replacement for Mavuika's death.
At least now Ronova has been freed from looking after Natlan as the Lord of the Night's life will fade no longer.

Because Capitano is a man who sticks to his code of ethics. He inspires people just as much as Mavuika does. That's shown by the fact Arlecchino says he's worthy of respect regardless of his power and by Wanderer saying he's righteous in their respective voice lines. Viktor, the fatuus in the cathedral, also wanted to transfer from Signora's group to Capitano's. Remember also, that during the archon quest Ororon described Capitano's soul as radiant and resilient.

honestly speaking, the lore timeline is now completely messed up and doesn't makes any sense anymore whatsoever, especially how it's explained in the video.
1. previously, it was said that the primordial one fought the dragons and that the heavenly principles are something else than the primordial one. But here, it is said that the heavenly principles+shades fought the dragons.
2. it is entirely impossible and implausible that the heavenly principles created the leylines BEFORE defeating the dragons, because teyvat was still under their control until the fight, so it's impossible for the leylines to get shattered during the fight.
Also, the video didn't give an explanation to the question in the title, because there is no information as to what ronova's "requirements" are at all and why capitano meets them in the first place.

First, and this is a personal question, where is it mentioned that the Shades cannot interfere with the fate of humans, but angels can?
Now, following logic, based on the order in which the characters express themselves, we can infer a hierarchy, which would be: Heavenly Principles > Shades > Angels > Archons > Humans. Following this, if the one at the top imposes that they cannot die, then how can an angel decide that someone dies? The angel chooses the accursed one, but that choice should be blocked because it doesn't meet the requirement. If that were the case, the people of Khaenri'ah would have already committed suicide, and that's not the case-they can't. Again, that curse cannot be revoked.
The paradox inevitably occurs if the Captain sacrifices their life and mixes it with the angel, but you can't do that from the start. If the Seelies were cursed for much less than that, and if this angel decides to choose someone whom the Heavenly Principles specifically cursed, somehow defying their authority, what would the punishment for that be?
The result still works moderately well if you change the type of punishment imposed on Khaenri'ah, but it also doesn’t seem logical to me that it was Ronova’s only option, rather to forsake the curse or the rule. Then again, that one comes from above shade and angel, both of them shouldnt be able to decide that.

The Natlan Ignition teaser shows the characters refer to the pilgrimage as the “Tournament” (Which its called after Mavuika SQ) So maybe Natlans just getting started and Capitano returns for the Tournament somehow, “I say as they drag me back to the hospital”

1.1.- Capitano has an "avatar" character file, as opposed to, for example, the "monster" file Signora had - this would indicate playability. The entire file name is Avatar_Male_Sword_IlCapitano, whereas Signora's was Cs_Monster_LaSignora.
1.2.- Capitano's sword, since 5.3, also has files that can be found through datamining the game, one of which revealed the sword is named Antumbra, thus sparking the argument that they wouldn't bother to give it a name if it wasn't going to become a playable weapon.
1.3.- Additionally, recently datamined information from 5.3, indicated that Capitano's sword also has a "skillObj" file, which, according to a number of dataminers, has been mostly reserved for playable characters and a handful of enemies, and it would operate akin to Guoba, as in, something that is brought on field by a character's skill. Some have argued that this "skillObj" file could be used to display Capitano's sword in different ways that do not necessarily imply the existence of a playable kit, however, there is a different file titled "sceneObj" that is used for the sword when Capitano sits on the Throne of Primal Fire.
1.4.- Capitano has a character icon, which is usually used in the game's different interfaces, like the Character Archive or the Abyss screen when you're selecting your teams, and has so far, mostly been reserved for playable characters or enemies when these are shown in their own archive as well. Some have correctly pointed out that this icon for Capitano has already been used, during the 5.1 archon quest in the war sequence, however, the complete, square icon, as opposed to the circular one, hasn't so far. Additionally, Capitano's icon is found in the files as "UI_AvatarIcon_IlCapitano", whereas those used for NPC's during the same quest are "UI_NPC_QuestAbyssWar".
1.5.- Continuing with the topic of datamining, Genshin_intel, one of the leakers who has one of the better track records through virtue of mostly leaking datamined information, said the following when leaking information for 5.0: "Il Capitano: to be playable." Some have said this was likely just based on the avatar file name, while others choose to also rely on Genshin_intel's almost impeccable track record and take them for their word.
1.6.- Veering away from datamined content and onto things that are in plain view of every player, we've got the Capitano Emoji from Paimon's Paintings Set 36, that made it onto the game in version 5.2. So far, no non-playable characters have gotten an emoji in the game, only monsters and other creatures like Azhdaha or Sumeru fungi (also excluded in this is Dainsleif, but he is confirmed to be playable by Hoyoverse themselves).
1.7.- So far, four different characters have voicelines titled "About The Captain", and notably, not all of them are harbingers, since Mavuika is one of these four characters. Additionally, there are two voicelines from Mika and Ororon that mention Capitano, and three Character Stories from Mavuika, Mika and Ororon that include mention of him as well. The number of voicelines feels odd to some for a character who wouldn't become playable, and as of version 5.3, none of the Harbingers' "About The Captain" voicelines have been edited or changed to be in past tense, which is a good indication.
1.8.- In addition, Mikhail and Lyudmila, our two Fatui diplomats who have been standing in front of the Goth Grand Hotel for 4 years, were given new dialogue in version 5.3, and what they say about Capitano has a more optimistic tone, compared to the Fair Lady, and the line "Apparently, the Tsaritsa has decided to keep his position as-is..." has given people a good amount of hope.
2.- Arguments based on Hoyoverse promotional material:
2.1.- Capitano, unlike other characters or NPC's who, having also been important to the storyline, has been featured in two version cover arts, 5.0, and 5.3. I went back and looked at every single version cover art, and so far, there have only been two cases of a character showing up on a cover art and having their playability in doubt/unconfirmed, this being Dottore who appeared on the version 3.1 cover art, and of course, Capitano. Other than these two, every single character who has been shown on cover arts has become playable. No humanoid NPC's have shown up on a cover art either, with the exception of Paimon of course.
2.2.- Capitano shows up in the Natlan Ignition Teaser: A Name Forged in Flames, and on the thumbnail for it. This is giving him a lot of visibility and promotion, and, if we look at the previous teaser, Overture Teaser: The Final Feast, for Fontaine, every single character shown in that video eventually became playable. Some have now theorized that the ignition teaser takes place after 5.3, instead of before/during 5.0, potentially lending more credence to the possibility of Capitano "reviving" or becoming playable for some.
2.3.- Some think that, during version 5.0 and 5.3's livestream, the developers gave Capitano more screentime and relevance than what they might give to a character that has no future in the game past the current version.
2.4.- During the version 5.3 livestream, Hoyoverse showed an image teasing 7 characters that they said we would meet in the "next 6 months". Counting these 7 characters, and all the already released Natlan characters since version 5.0, we have a total of 16 characters, which differs from the pattern of 17 characters released per region that has held somewhat strong since Inazuma, thus, people speculate Capitano could be the 17th character. Nonetheless, he doesn't have to release in Natlan to become playable, and, Hoyoverse has broken patterns before, especially in the past few months.
2.5.- In Mavuika's Character Trailer, we see a sun being eclipsed, starting in minute 1:26, and with Capitano's sword being named Antumbra, which means annular eclipse, people have seen this as another tease of Capitano's playability, but it also could be seen as Natlan being eclipsed by the abyss and Mavuika undoing the eclipse with her flames.
2.6.- Not so much related to promotional material, but I'd be remiss to not mention this point: Capitano is a beloved character by a lot of people, and as a lot of people have pointed out, not making him playable would be the very definition of throwing away money. Furthermore, Capitano, a harbinger, has been portrayed as non-antagonistic, heroic, chivalrous, honorable, etc. and has a decent relationship with the Traveler and other important "friendly" characters, further removing the usual barrier people think Harbingers must get over to become playable without some sort of rewrite or redesign. Nonetheless, I also have to mention that Hoyoverse sometimes makes very strange decisions, and has shown that they're not necessarily always going to go for the easiest ways to make money (skins), so this argument hinges more on people's ideas of how Hoyoverse operates.
@@Schinak 3.- Arguments based on interpretations and theories that have stemmed from Chapter V: Act V: Incandescent Ode of Resurrection and previous content:
3.1.- The Jesus parallels theory: A lot of people have theorized that Capitano's constellation on the Fatui wheel is the three nails (this is unconfirmed but highly plausible), which in itself is a direct parallel to Triclavianism and the symbolism used to represent it. Triclavianism is the belief that Jesus was crucified using three nails. At the end of version 5.3's archon quest, three swords, Traveler's, Mavuika's and Capitano's were shown in a similar position to the three nails on the wheel, furthering this theory. The paralells to Jesus have been furthered by Capitano "dying" while saving hundreds of souls in the process, kind of like Jesus died to save humanity. The obvious conclusion to this theory, is Capitano "reviving" after a period of time. Some have speculated this might happen in april or 3 updates from now, if Hoyoverse really wanted to harp on the Jesus parallel.
3.2.- Also along the same line of paralells with the christian faith, during the cutscene where Capitano confronts Ronova, he is shown surrounded by blue butterflies, which, in christian religion symbolize resurrection.
3.3.- Parallels to the Lich King: This one has been used a lot for memes, but it has some substance to it. After the conclusion of 5.3, Capitano remains seated on the Throne of Primal Fire that can be found in Ochkanatlan, surrounded by his ice. In World of Warcraft, the Lich King's soul merged with that of a human, as a result he became dormant on his throne and awakened some time later. The parallel of Capitano, who merges with the Lord of the Night, and then remains seated in a state of stasis on the throne to that of the Lich King is evident, and we know Hoyoverse isn't shy about drawing from other influential videogame franchises for their games. Although somewhat unrelated, others have also noted that Capitano still appears to be breathing when sitting upon the throne, whether this is a quirk in how the character model behaves that Hoyoverse didn't bother to change or whether it actually has story relevance is up in the air though.
3.4.- The Fatui Wheel theory: Based on the Fatui Wheel Hoyoverse released at the start of the game which contains the constelattions of all the harbingers, people have long speculated that this wheel shows the order in which we meet/fight the harbingers, starting with Childe and going counter-clockwise (so far, the order of the wheel has been followed to a tee). In accordance with the wheel, people have now been speculating that we have to meet Columbina first (represented by the crying dove), in order to then meet or fight Capitano as a weekly boss after her (represented by the three nails). This would indicate Capitano will come back only after Columbina.
3.5.- The Blazing Flint Ore theory: After Act V concludes in version 5.3, you can offer Blazing Flint Ore to the Throne of Primal Fire in order to unlock Pyro MC's constellations. As of 5.3, only 5 of 6 Blazing Flint Ore's are obtainable, and, making the link that Flint can spark a fire, and with Capitano sitting on the Throne surrounded/encased in ice, the theory has been proposed that upon offering all 6 Ores we might "thaw" Capitano and release him from his stasis-like state, thus making him available to become playable again.

This interference with fate theory seems to be the best explanation I've seen so far, and it's better than the one I came up with. I still have a problem with it, as it requires interpretation to arrive at and I feel like this kind of thing should be spelled out in canon or "word of god."
But I have another challenge to this interpretation. Ronova said she would collect many lives if the person who had to pay the cost could not conquer their fear of death. If Ronova's executor for the rule of death was always going to be the Lord of the Night, how was she going to get her to kill countless people?

The 4 Shining Shades (an oxymoron) and their management of humanity is like that of a titan trying to build a boat in a bottle. A small bottle, and that boat is Teyvat. One false move and the whole thing collapses (again for like the 56th apocalypse).
The bigger question still stand, why the heavenly principle go so far as to curse entire Khaenri'ah with the curse of immortality? Is this really just punishment for the sake of punishment?
So this confirms Capitano isn't fully dead, he became one with they lay lines and having a very long sleep like the Lich King

In a conversation with Yohualtecuhtin Mavuika talks about how the First Descender fought the elemental dragons, and during that fight, they destroyed a "corner of the world", which, in this case, is Natlan. (Something along these lines at the very least)
In addition to what the other person said, the rules of Natlan and the night kingdom were created during the time of Xbalanque in the archon war. That means the ley lines were destroyed before then because the night kingdom was created as a replacement for the ley lines.

About the cataclysm, it just found Natlan's ley lines as deteriorated as they were and made it worse such that Natlan would only last for a period of 500 years before its utter destruction by the Abyss. This is what guided Mavuika to make a 500-year plan.

A lot of people are confused about the options Capitano forced Ronova to choose between. Capitano merging with the Lord of the Night isn't one of them. That's the metaphorical gun he's pointing at Ronova to make a choice, and it's something he's going to do regardless of which option Ronova chooses. The choice Ronova has to make is which rule of death she'll retract to avoid Capitano's merging with the Lord of the Night becoming a paradox.
i.e. There's nothing for Ronova to say no to.
She can just force him to unmerge. If he still try to merge then HP themselves will get involved and at that point it's no longer her problem. She just let him merge because it's less work for her + still not her problem cause HP will just forcefully remove Cap if necessary

Before that, my head canon was: Ronova didn't say no because she is also interested in what happens when an individual cursed with immortality is faced with death. Based on what I understand about what's happening with Capitano, I assumed he is in a state of limbo, both dead and alive.

She didn’t forsake any rule. Capitano’s body is immortal, but he rules over the night kingdom and thus is technically dead since he’s in the land of death. Your conclusion is wrong

That’s what I’ve been trying to explain to people. The Captain is gone. His body now belongs to the lord of the night, one she has no need for but it gives her immortality. The Captain being reborn as Thrain in the future is the likely outcome here

I think a big factor was that the Rule of Death was a secret from the Heavenly Principles. Had it been public knowledge she could have contested the issue, but since it's secret she couldn't do anything that would risk bringing it to the attention of the Heavenly Principles.
Basically, she would rather undo the rule she made in secret than undo a rule she made publicly, and she would rather avoid making a public scene than do anything that risks a public confrontation with an angel - as that might get reported to her superior and reveal her entire secret.
God I loved this quest so much! When the lore lores ❤ and I still havent read this patche's readings I hope the few questions I have still can be answered. That and obviously the final chapter of Little One quest. Pieceing together Natlan lore has been one of the most delightful things Ive done in genshin
Here my take into this, the rules of the world is like literal from the sound of it. Like it literally dictate even beyond just this is like some government rules but the literal fabrics of the world. in our world there something that scientists tries to achieve called the theory of everything, how molecules become molecules and how those that made molecules becomes galaxies. What I am trying to say, the deity who created Teyvat or set the rules for Teyvat literally build them from the ground up, They define how something should take shape, They define what things that could take shape in the world, even how it could be interacted with. Like a literal god who have a book where They define the world that They have created using this book. Down to the very physics that is why everything require elemental energy, heck if we to bring our phones there I doubt it would work properly. But I dont think the whole of Teyvat is like the entirety of the universe, but I think it was taken from a bigger part and being put inside an egg like some theorist say. From there the deity who created the world fashion it to their liking, even setting up rule for the things that I said, it become a heaven a paradise if you will. But the larger universe still exist, where it own rules applies, I mean They take on a concept that already exist on a much more smaller scale which means the materials literally came from outside and along with it comes it own original rules, which become the weak spots that the Abyss tries to take advantage off
It's mistranslation. Rules of the World = Heavenly Principles. And Natlan becomes a weak spot not due to the rules but because the war between Phanes and Nibelung completely destroyed Natlan's leylines thus Ronova was sent to make the Night Kingdom as a replacement

While "rule" is the term used in-game, I think it's more accurate call death a "price" of using Ronova's powers. She can waive the price if she wants to (or is forced to in this case).

Something about this video that buggers me more than it's focus is, what is the source of the ley lines having been put in place by the HP? How did the HP establish leylines before winning their war against the dragons if they were the invaders? Why would they do that and risk having this integral piece of infrastructure shattered in the war?
I always assumed it just belonged to the dragons before the invaders came, it's the only thing that would make sense given that without leylines, teyvat would just be abyssal goop juice that nobody would be interested to settle in.
Dragons had technology to weave ley lines for a reason.

There were two wars, let's just say HP won first and ruled for a time and created ley lines.
Later, Dragon King came back with the power of darkness and the war of vengeance started which ended with Natlan's ley lines being damaged.

In my perspective the immortality of Capitano still resides in his body and of course the lord of the night as well since both have been merged, however though his body may be immortal but it is now just an empty husk without a soul.
Since Ronova said "the curse of immortality must stand, use it to fullfil your final wish". She didn't directly release the restrictions of immortality from Capitano's body but the souls of all natlanese and kheanrians were dispersed now resting peacefully in the ley lines
Small correction near the end. Renova does not cancel the rule of death. She says it will be upheld. Implying he is still immortal, which was the whole point of making the Lord of the night immortal by association.
if Capitano will be the new master of ley lines, means he can infiltrate the ley line of every nation in Teyvat? so he exactly isn't dead, as his memory is still alive and controls the ley lines, he can possibly infiltrate the Tree of Irminsul and gather as much information in Teyvat that may help Fatuus complete their mission to dethrone Heavenly Principles.

Here’s my theory on the primordial, one and more specifically the precursor the precursor are the creators of all life in the galaxy and the universe as well, and the twins are the last sole surviving precursors because the precursors and the primordial one are one and the same however the when the primordial one and the precursor create the heavenly principles and the precursor planning to give life to humanity, gravely angered the heavenly principles which led them down a genocidal path on killing all the precursor, but as for the precursor fled to the primordial one for their own safety. They were betrayed by the the primordial one hence why they like the idea of having the heavenly principles and they don’t need the precursors anymore hence why we see both aether and lumine the last surviving precursors travel world after world for millennia for years and years were talking billions of years traveling to find a new home that is similar to theirs teyvat but unfortunately, the heavenly principles found them. Because from what we know, we don’t know the backstory of both the travelers because they remain a mystery to this day, but I found a very good theory is that both siblings are the corrupted remains of the precursor, the ancient gods of the universe who created all life in all existence Before the primordial one.

Best lore analysis and theory so far, best about it is that it says "theory" most theory crafter and lore channels are allways talking as everything they are saying are facts but often it's theories and/or interpretations

no. Remember Apep? She suffered from the forbidden knowledge affliction which is lorewise abyss related. The abyss IS a corroding force period and there is no real peaceful coexistence with it. think of it as similar as Unicron from transformers. Unicron is a devourer of worlds and the prime evil in the transformers franchise but in this pursuit he still subjugated minions to help him. ANd a similar thing has happened in genshin with the lectors and other abyss monsters

Honestly, if Natlan were to ever be consumed by the abyss, it won’t be long before the other 6 nations will be attacked by the abyss. Because Natlan is part of Teyvat.
Ok so I had trouble understanding this paradox but thanks to your video I completely get it now.
Ronova's rule is that anyone who uses her power is going to pay with death. Mavuika, through the Lord of the Night, used the Ode of Resurrection, a power that Xbalanque "stole" from Ronova.
The other rule is that Capitano is cursed with immortality, and isn't allowed to die.
But since the LotN can pay with Capitano's life, a death equal to Mavuika, this created a paradox that Ronova had no power to stop
So she had to forsake one of her rules to prevent it. Ronova disregarded the price of death using her power, knowing that the punishment for removing Capitano's immortality would probably be a bigger punishment (since he's from Khanriah).
Thus Capitano isn't dead, but his body is empty. His soul is merged with the LotN, fixing the ley lines and making the night kingdom immortal.
I still have no hopes that he'll be playable. Thanks for the explanation though!

For everyone still wondering why Ronova couldn't refuse... simply put; it may have something to do with power level - Mavuika and Capitano both acknowledged each other to be in equal strength, both now and likely in their prime. As the power of the Pyro Archon wavers between each individual respectfully, that means at any point one Pyro Archon could be weaker than Ei while a future one could be stronger than Zhongli. Perhaps the payment for it to work required a certain level of power to be accepted as to make it an equivalent exchange.
In addition; Ronova interfered three times in the past to save Humanity... it's likely she wanted to interfer again and this time had the Lord of the Night as a perfectly valid reason to justify her actions in accepting it without breaking the Heavenly Principals orders.
Essentially... she never lost anything - she got what she wanted. In every sense of the word.
