When I researched the Battle of Smolensk it came up with the second battle that happened in 1943 after the Soviets starting pushing the Germans back and not the first one so the Germans historically won this battle in 1941. So technically the participant controlled outcome of the war is actually going worse for the German side on the Eastern Front. This may lead to a delayed attack on Stalingrad and Germany’s last hope for getting back on track or conquering the Soviet Union will be to win in the North Africa campaign.
I can understand this, even though the Battle of SMOLENSK was a German Victory, the overall Barbarossa campaign was a defeat for Germany so in total it makes sense. In order to capture the essence Barbarossa yall used the biggest battle.👍
14:27 Question, do you happen to factor in historical supply availability/logistics for these battles? For example, the side that historically had the logistics advantage would be able to transport tanks (mainly by train) to the battlefield faster and perform field repair, ammo replenishment, and refueling missions more efficiently, and the side that didn't have good supply suffered in all the above. Perhaps for future missions you could incorporate this in-----whether via previous battle outcomes (like you did with the Battle of Britain, the air war had effects on later missions) or real time map objectives-----though this option could complicate the limited player lobbies, it may not be preferable without additional air to ground (and/or naval) player ratio restrictions for both teams (if not already implemented?), up to you. In terms of logistic effects, they could maybe influence the re-spawn logic of the map, where the side with bad, bombed, or sabotaged logistic lines suffer a longer re-spawn----with the effects being worse depending on the army's size AND current whether and/or season. For example, more supply will be required for larger armies (hoi 4 anyone?), and with winter comes even more required supply. Finally, air re-spawn time would be dependent on nearest runway or carrier distance and amount of each that are functioning normally. Overall this could help to solidify the realism of the missions further-----ofc all the players will need to be made keenly aware of these additional factors before each mission if it is to be implemented, which I admit will be a difficult thing to do, as researching then translating logistical availability into War Thunder accurately won't be easy, due to many factors, including the state of each side's war economy, which I didn't touch on. Anyway hope this helps this awesome series! (oh and yes for the 1941 battle of Smolensk, the Germans had better supply availability during the the larger summer offensive, ofc we know how the stocks from the initial blitzkrieg would eventually dwindle for many reasons [rail conversion difficulty of soviet tracks, distance, winter... etc], the soviets on the other hand had insufficient logistics set-up for the counter offensives they rushed into action that July, allowing the Germans to repel each one despite being over extended).
Okie Germany had 1 Dicker max only because the other one had accidental munitions catching on fire and also Tanks didn't have direct radio contact with planes therefore Tanks couldn't coordinate with them to bomb targets unless they saw those targets
This episode was really good! Whether or not it was intentional, the tanks stopping in the middle of the field despite being shot at is really realistic also the Soviet planes coming in piecemeal with no real formation compared to the organised German attack in the air Also, will tanks like the maus eventually be used if the Germans win enough to stay in the war?
Hi muffin nice vid again, but I am pretty sure the Germans won the battle of Smolensk. I have an artikel linked from a Google search. Who won the battle of Smolensk? Location Smolensk (Russian SFSR) vicinity, Soviet Union Result German victory
We put it in simulator mode so participants shouldn’t be able to but I think sometimes when we make air maps work with ground battles for a more historically accurate location it causes it to not work at times.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to start Operation Barbarossa with Eastern Europe (Town map) and White Rock Fortress in Belerus? Why risk straight into Smolensk?

Very cool
And I’m trying to start wt content creation. Do you have any tips

Reason why i love this is because operation Barbarossa was the largest invasion ever
War thunder needs to make these a gamemode, especially a wide open map using Air maps.
I wish Enlisted had such events
Yeah
There getting there, they just added battle of the bulge so just be patient.
The devs have gotten better there is only improvement from here
That would be awesome
