Thanks a lot! I saw the bench of 12100 with 5600x. Even at the match, 12100 showed fps equivalent to 5600x. I think Intel made a huge budget killer

Gotta say, this is extremly impressive performance for a quad core that costs so little. However, its price/performance hinges highly on motherboard costs of b660 and intel likes to increase board prices every generation so that might be a deal killer. But at least this year shapes up to be very interesting in CPU department.

I mean, i was about to build a budget gaming rig soon, and was thinking b450/R3 2200G and then get an rx570 or better, then swap out the 2200g for a 5600 and eventually R9 + RTX3000 series. But looking at this, starting with 12100F and jump straight to RX560 or even RX550 with a Z690 to make 12900k relevant later is probably better, even tho its "only" capped at 12900k. But if AMDs AM5 can support multiple gen like AM4 did, i would need to reconsider my choice.

@@furydua781 I get your reasoning and it's great you're considering future upgradeability, but this approach rarely pays off. You're probably considering the cheapest Z690 (Asrock) boards then right? Well they won't run your future 12900K at full potential anyways (see Hardware Unboxed). You'll need to upgrade your cooling, power supply... By the time you can afford a 12900K it won't be worth it. Would you for example buy a used 9900K today for $300 (that can pull 145 Watts if you still had a Z390 board, when the 12100F beats it?
Are you going with a DDR5 board to be future proof? DDR5 is very expensive now...
What's your budget and what do you want to play now?

@@everope i mean where i live, most of the used PC parts can still sell for atleast 50% its new price, since theres such a big market for a cheap parts (mind you most of them still buys 7700k or even 6th gen for their budget build, idk if theyre dumb, or idiots). So for cooling, PSU, and CPU i can get rid of them and get some financial help from them and upgrade them.
About budget, im not sure, its quite complicated and i dont think i can afford to churn out like $500 in a single month, thats why i was thinking about the first team red route. Since beggars can't be choosers, ill just play whatever my pc can handle. 2200g is surprisingly good tbh, and it is dirt cheap.
Also regarding Z690, i dont really mind to run 12900k not with its full potential for some time, because im most likely gonna stick with 12600k for a long time, but that is a great info, thank you. Also no, if im gonna build in Q1 ill go with DDR4.
I still think im gonna give red team a second chance, ill wait until Q2 and save my money. Because AMD still have my trust with supporting the lower end, budget friendly parts.
