I remember setting my VCR to record this in the middle of the day while I was at high school so I could catch the Ween interview for The Mollusk on this episode. In the past 10 years I revisited it shortly after getting into The Magic City album by Helium and was delighted to find this interview!
Mary Timony is so beautiful and talented. Wish I grew up watching this on tv. Who am I stuck with? Someone like Avril Larvine who can't even begin to measure up to Mary's greatness.
Saw her at the Black Cat in D.C. years ago.....around 2000....she seemed weirded-out that I just walked up to her after the show to shake her hand. A talent indeed. :-)
Great upload. I know Viacom hates their stuff being put up on UA-cam but they must have some sort of statute of limitations considering how old this clip is. It's not as if they're losing any money at all from some potential DVD set that'll never happen.

It's funny how you get an impression of what you think an artist may be like judging by their music, then you see them in an interview and it confounds that expectation. I imagined Timony would be quite intense and serious but she doesn't come across that way at all.

I saw Helium twice and MT solo once in the 90s and briefly chatted with her after the show. She was so nice. Amazing shows.
