I doubt anyone is going to mention it but holy shit the amount of B-Reel footage that you acquired is insane. We watch someone go pick it up, Then you meticulously go through afterwards change the camera angle and they pick up the item again, That is wild

@@michael221ventura He does the challenges with the players, but he has volunteers that dress their characters up like the competitors and later film the B-roll with him.
Basically when you see the raw footage with the interface on screen that's footage recorded straight from the challenge, when its a more "fancy" shot of someone doing something that's someone recreating the player's actions in the challenge while Soup is somewhere nearby likely using an Oculus Orb to capture it

i love how you introduce people as the games unfold. 18 introductions back to back is too much so this format was much more digestible.
The editing was probably the beat I've ever seen in OSRS content and some of the best editing on UA-cam.
I found it very confusing, the music was underwhelming compared to previous seasons as well :( otherwise enjoyed the episode

I'm a pretty decent RuneScape player. I would have made the same choice as Zecookies. She made a really logical decision. V is obviously going to be the more skilled pvm'er, so her best bet is hope he makes a mistake and goes too cheap and takes a death. Give yourself the guarantee kills.

Between hyper dedicated players sharing their grinds, insanely creative account ideas and then insanely well thought out and produced high effort content like this... The OSRS community is legitimately so so so blessed in terms of content. Keep up the amazing work Soup, as well as all the amazing content creators in the challenge.
I loved every part and the idea of the elimination challenge was also really good, but I'd like to have seen it be a more difficult boss. Maybe Bandos boss or something for such a challenge would be a lot more interesting. Dagganoth kings are a bit too easy

I’ve been watching RS content for 4 or 5 years now and for some reason I’ve never really watched GG but I’ve heard so much about it so I’ve been hyped to start this season. This episode definitely confirms I’ll be watching every episodes as soon as they come out for now on and probably go back to previous seasons. Thanks for the content 🙏🏼

@@Markiepoo I don't agree, this is a drama show first and foremost. It's designed to create suspense for content, it isn't a "pure" competition in that sense. Players are encouraged to take ruthless approaches and cause drama between each other. The first one into the banning just had this choice dumped on them without any pre-planning and as a result were encouraged to play it safe and as a result one of the more skilled veterans who also is a season winner now have beef with 3-4 of the other competitors plus the tribunal members and that is going to have an effect in the next episode and that episode will have an effect that escalates into the next etc.

The editing is so amazing on these videos!!! I love all the contestants and how the mainstays keep coming back each season (solo, evscape, c eng, settled, framed, torvesta, skillspecs, boaty, victim, faux, zoe, etc...) love it!
We don't deserve a series within the Old School Runescape category with such high production quality, but i absolutely love it!
Man, if there is any game ever that has deserved this, it's OSRS. It hasn't been one of the biggest MMOs for literally 2 entire decades for no reason. Fuck, I don't even play anymore..

im remembering runeshark, skychi, tehnoobshow, runescape gods exposed, etc. the list goes on and on and on and on ..
One of the things that truly blows me away about this series every time is Soup CLEARLY digging heavily into game theory and how to produce interesting dynamics and twists. Not to mention his ability to tell a story that takes these dynamics into account, waiting until the right moment to reveal information to both the players AND the viewers.

Soup makes so many subtle details that make the show.Clearly V’s setup was way cheaper and Soup made it interesting by making it seem like V had a chance of running out of prayer by subtitling that specific part 56:37. Pumped for this season 😎
that was pretty good, yeah. I thought there was a real chance he'd somehow mess it up. But in hindsight you can see he's 100% confident, his only worry is that maaaaybe zecookies had a cheaper setup

They're catching on! The amount of super quality content creators in the OSRS community is the reason the game is still thriving. I got back into it after discovering Swampletics and By Release. I really think this game would be long dead without all these legends and Jagex is smart to support them.
@@seankent7282 1 million percent. No other game relies as heavily on content creators for it's current success as OSRS does. MAYBE Age of Empires 2, but even then probably not even close. The OSRS creators are just on another level, it's insane. Without the top 10 creators this game probably wouldn't have 1/3rd of the current playerbase.

Old school is fantastic as a 2nd monitor game. It's unique in that there is plenty of "game" to enjoy before you max, just take things at your own pace and don't get caught up in the efficiency above everything mindset. The game has aged pretty well and has found its niche as a retro mmorpg.

I love the vibe of this whole thing. It’s like watching big brother or another show of that nature. First time seeing this video series and I’m hooked. Gotta watch the other seasons!
Soup, have you ever considered doing a small warm up series for the new comers that was posted from the trailer launch until the first episode. It could even just be a single challenge per video so they get more screen time. Obiviously I want to see VtheVictim go all the way and not get kicked out in the first banning, but it equally sucks that Zecookies got banned with barely any time in the games. It may also help bridge the gap between multi season veterans and new contestants so it doesnt always have to be the same people.
