God bless you Steve,I was 13 riding my push bike past Moorabbin church many moons ago like in 1992,which I was a metal head back then still am,but it encouraged me to start going to church as I couldn't get enough of Mortification ,my family moved from Melbourne to Traralgon a couple years later and I stopped going to church but 41 and I'm back at church (No metal bands 😞) but all is good and Its great to see your still with us. I certainly spend $80 to help and can't wait to read your book. Glory to God God bless Amen 🙏

You're an incredible guy, Steve. I'm somewhat of an "agnostic," but I greatly admire your dedication and honesty. Even though you've been faced with great challenges, you didn't lash out against your beliefs like Roger Martinez of Vengeance Rising and turn to Satanism. That's truly inspirational.
I recently acquired the Metal Missionary book, and it's hard to put down. It's so full of photos and illustrations that give it a life of it's own. I've never been down under, but it's like a glimpse into Australian life from the 60's onward. It's so far only r1 of 2 musician bio books I ever bought. The other is by Michael Sweet. I've been a fan as far back as the Light Force era.
This Gabe Fields from Washington state and your music and testimony of how God has worked thru your life is an inspiration to me. I enjoy metal music but mortification (and a couple bands) stand out in the "Christian metal" genre by incorporating scripture in your songs. Definitely set apart as so many bands are difficult to tell if they are for Christ. Thanks for being set apart as I want to be set apart for Christ also. Hi Steve just bought your book like new new in Salvation Army shop in Beaconsfield, I’m 73 now been saved since 23/July/1978 complete change of life I found being Born-Again as you know, I also like lots of Christian Artists and Bands, the nearest I have to your style would be Petra ? They to me really represented Gospel music I could handle, it’s not a put down but I do prefer that style and honestly could never get into the style you’ve been playing, I’ve nothing against you personally or your Band it’s just that it doesn’t suit me ? Hopefully you can understand what I’m saying, my son brought up as a Christian likes your kind of music and as so many metal- thrash etc etc including obviously Metallica and Striper and also this German band who only sing in German can’t remember there name you’ll know em anyway? I like to say quite often these days “ That we’re all different “ full stop , and as Christians accept one another and not Judge people at all leave em alone, James tells us to guard our tongue and Paul tells us to have the mind of Christ ? I have been a metal head from a very young age. I strongly recall yourself and you band Mortification speaking at my high school. Parkdale High maybe 25 years ago. Think it was the bible club that got you there. You spoke about a lot of your previous demons with drugs and crime. I was listening to and still do Aus metal music mostly, bestial warlust,, Hobbs, Sadistik Exikution, Christbait etc. I remember putting my hand up to ask a question and was shut down by my teachers. Was a basic question as a 16 year old. Is the death metal vocal growl the voice of the devil? If so why do you as a band use it being christians?
