this is the old-gen xbox version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent which was an entirely different game compared to the xbox 360/ps3 version. it was made by Ubisoft Montreal, the same devs that made Chaos Theory, which means this version of Double Agent is the closest thing to a Chaos Theory 2 we'll ever get for all you KH fans out reading this, its basically like if BBS was made into two versions by both Tokyo Team and Osaka Team, and this is the Tokyo Team version
There are videos out there that compares all the Splinter Cell games across console versions, including Double Agent. They did this kind of thing a lot, making things different across versions. Kind of dumb, if you ask me, but what do I know. I'll look for the video and be back with a link, it's worth the watch if anyone here is interested in where to start in the series. Edit: m.ua-cam.com/video/2ZLHAEqWAV0/v-deo.html m.ua-cam.com/video/TR3xAf6tSxc/v-deo.html These are both really good on the series as a whole, and it you search console comparisons of the different titles, you'll get tons of good videos. Hope this helps someone, I just wanted to signal boost these games.
I have the ps2 version of this but no original Xbox, played Chaos theory on the ps3 which is the pc version... do u know of any differences between double agent ps2 version and xbox
Fisher: "Don't thank me yet!" [Jumps off the plane] "KILL FISHER ON SIGHT!" "Don't thank me yet!" *[Other man jumps off the plane and his parachute fails to deploy]*
Everytime I see a long range shotgun in a video game demonstrate how it's absurdly broken in practice, I can't help but be torn between good game design and realism... honestly shotguns in real life are terrifyingly effective at neutralizing people, alive or not. But how the fuck they thought putting it in a stealth game would be even remotely appropriate is beyond me.
cause its fun to use if you want to see more questionable game design for stealth combat, take a look at Conviction and Blacklist also, just in case you didnt notice, theres a shotgun and a sniper so that explains why half of the kills are long range
@@StickmanSham i actually really like conviction. not really as a splinter cell game, but a vindictive Sam Fisher-simulator. plus i really like Sam and Sarah's relationship.
Having a playable shotgun in a stealth game may not be appropriate, but at least the player has the opportunity to use or not use it depending on how they play. Having the option to use or not use something is better game design than removing something that some players would want to use and miss being in the game.
Ansem: *peacefully reading in his room...all the lights out of course* Sam Fisher: *comes up from behind and restrains him* You're going to tell me where Xehanort is or I'll show what darkness within darkness really means. Ansem: Come forth Guardian! Protect me! Sam Fisher: Don't bother, he's already been neutralized
I enjoyed this version of splinter cell double agent a lot because it was basically splinter cell chaos theory with just new levels, new areas and new enemies you have to take down. The money train level was so fun especially when you get to the train part of the level that probably might be my favorite mission from this game along with cozumel too. The Kinshasa level is fun too i enjoyed playing that mission due to it taking place in africa inside a congo hotel but the first part of the level is kinda hard because you have to wait for the bombs to drop and as soon when one drops it makes the lights go out and then you can get around the guards but you have to be quick or you will get caught. The second part of the level is easy because fisher have his equipment with him then. The New York level which is the final mission in this game is the hardest. I think this level was harder than kokubo sosho from chaos theory and maybe the bathhouse too.
Honestly this Version of Double Agent is really fucking good and a lot of the people who are asking for another Chaos Theory don't even know this Version existed. CHECK IT OUT PEOPLE. EVERYTHING about it is better than the new gen version
It has the mechanics of chaos theory, but it’s level design is still pretty subpar in comparison. I honestly thought Pandora tomorrow was overall a better game.
ASCGhostGod He was making the point that the version on OG Xbox plays a lot like Chaos Theory. The game is almost completely different on X360, different studios worked on each
Sam, it's a sensitive mission. Don't kill anyone or the mission is over! I told You Sam. You supposed to be not violent. The mission is over. I wasn't so harmful. I just neutralized all suspects.
This was the first PS2 game i ever played after SW LEGO, now i have all my old childhood games on my PC, but I'd definitely buy a PS2 just for playing this since this version is only available in console.
Enrica was killed by another Splinter Cell whom Third Echelon had sent to purge the JBA as a backup in case Sam was compromised. Heartbroken, Sam killed this other Splinter Cell, and then defected from Third Echelon, cutting out his own subdermal radio to ensure they couldn't still track him.
I much prefer this version of Double agent, literally does feel like Chaos Theory 2 aswell. Also good video man, funny shit 😂 the cleanest best pleasure for sure right there.
I had no idea that Xbox was a different game altogether, but I should have expected. Sorta like GRAW PC vs. console. I'd like to revisit them all one day.
God i wish i had the OG Xbox, all i get is the scuffed PS2 version. The maps appear very similar, but the flow is different, plus i get the added benefit of a sucky framerate. I gotta say tho, Emile is a pain in the ass no matter what version you are playing.
My trick was to have a bunch of flash and frag granades, I'd stay and cover, flashbang him, then toss a frag while he was stunned, pop off a few shots while he's recovering from the frag, go back into cover, and rinse and repeat until he's dead
I wish there was a pc version. I'v played this on the xbox360 but the framerate was pretty abhorrent (isnt the 360 supposed to be more powerfull then the original?). Id much rather prefer the ps2 version which at least seem to have a more stable framerate.
@@Vengeance19 The X360 version is different, basically a different game, but it does have a really shitty framerate. This video shows the old gen version, which still ran on the Chaos theory engine. Also the nu-version has a PC port, but it's absolute garbage, mine crashed everytime i scoped with a weapon.
@@jimbo2revengeance Ohno, i meant i played the original xbox version on a xbox360 and the framerate was kinda bad (maybe because the 360 isnt powerfull enough to emulate the og xbox?) But yea, the nextgen version also has a pretty bad framerate and the pc version is such a buggy mess of a game. Quite a shame because chaos theory works great on pc.
And the gameplay was... shitty. The og xbox version had more moves like Chaos Theory, the missions are way better too even if the game is more linear. And to be honest the pc port is even more shitty compared to the 360 version
The new version is definitely more original than the old version. I actually really liked the JBA HQ missions-it's a very interesting way to toe the line between Hitman-like social stealth and more direct Splinter Cell-style stealth gameplay!

Emile: "It doesn't mattah. Goodbye, Mister Fisher..."

Gotta love kingdom hearts
Gotta love ragdoll physics
The final fight with Emile is actually easy you just have to save a flash granade, you can even grab him and interrogate him
unfortunately i had used up all my flashbangs on the lower floors or else i woulda done that
You killing the final boss and failing multiple times reminds me of you killing the mysterious figure the honorable way
That New York combat theme just screams badass and it's even better when Fisher speaks after a mission kill.
The Soundtrack for double agent is an absolute favourite
wait.... throwing off a guard below to another guard works? now i learn something new
Stickman cell: chaos sham

damn double agent had a really awesome variety of environments

I was watching like "Why is this old guy wearing panties on his head?"
Hahahhha
Did anyone remember Splinter Cell essentials on PSP that continues the story line with Williams who had set Fisher up? They didn't resolve that
You joke at 0:35 but that makes sense as the entire weight of another full grown man is being dropped onto him. It would no doubt knock him out.
I think the timing/luck and ragdoll are what make the moment, not the absurdity
If only this is also the PC version's take... stupid Ubisoft Shanghai.
This is Double Agent.
ASCGhostGod He was making the point that the version on OG Xbox plays a lot like Chaos Theory. The game is almost completely different on X360, different studios worked on each

the best way to play this version is on an xbox one since its backwards compatible with the superior xbox version
so i didn't get what happened in the end. i need some help
who killed Enrica ?
who did Sam kill in the end
did he kill the killer of Enrica
