Previous discussion is that Brahmos 2 will be based on Russian Zircon missile which is the only operational hypersonic cruise missile in the world. Understood the technology transfer has been delayed possibly due to Chinese pressures or due to India slowly pivoting towards the US and buying more US weapons and jet engines.
