Have you played Oros? Let us know your thoughts!
I have the KS Deluxe version, and can't wait to give it a try!
Yeah owned it for months, played it solo a lot and with 4 different groups. Some of my gaming friends and I love it! Such a great unique puzzle space game!
I love Oros - what a great combination of theme, mechanics, and aesthetics! But I think it plays really well at 3 or 4 because of the player interaction, and I'm not sure that I would even try it with two.
Had the opportunity to play this at a game meet-up a few months ago and then bought my own copy. The board manipulation is so unique; really nothing else like it in my game library. Thanks for the playthrough!!!
:-) Thanks for watching!!
I just purchased this game and you two are SO good at teaches and playthroughs, so I am excited to see this!
Hope you enjoy it! Thank you for all the support!
@@BeforeYouPlay Very well deserved!☺
Once again you two take a game I did not think Id be interested in and make it shine.
Thank you ☺️
I would love for you guys to play again, hopefully with the larger map and the harder Automa! Very much enjoyed this.
We adore this game. It's such a unique game with deceptively deep tactics & strategy. Good at all player counts and plays relatively quickly. Haven't shown it to anyone that didn't want to play again. Thanks so much for helping more people find this game.
So glad to hear you've been enjoying your plays! Plans can get ruined quickly in this game haha.
I’ve played at one and two players and both have been fun experiences. One of the most unique games, mechanically, I have in my collection.
This is such an amazing game! The design is excellent throughout, including the rule book. Love!
Glad you enjoy it!
This is exactly the kind of game I love! The map movement is fun and just interactive enough, and there are a multitude of ways to decide how you're going to earn your points. I think my favorite part is that your powers improve as you gain wisdom, so you can craft your own strategic strengths as you play.
I got this game at Gem State Gaming convention and it is amazing! I got to buy it from the creator and he signed my box! Such an amazing game!!!!
I love your videos!
Thank you!!
Love this game. Great action selection mechanism, "tech trees" seem really balanced and spatial puzzle is super unique. Its also gorgeous.
Most of all, the game is super interactive which a lot of modern games seem to shy away from.
The automa is really well designed especially in terms of ease of use. But I think I'd probably reach for other games at 2 player. The solo experience can be its own thing. But I think including it in mutiplayer might compromise some of the decsions around tempo consideration.
We played against the blue Automa and we did defeat it, but I can see how the others could be much more difficult.
Glad to hear that! The automa is such a worthy adversary, we've both lost to them a few times lol 😢.
Would the island not turn into a 3? This game is great! Very unique and so much fun to play!
Although the island has a “1” on it, the 4 sides are surrounded by water. So when adding 2, you must first fill in each side. So a “1” value island => “1” value land => “2” value land tile. Hope that makes sense.
I have a question, so the 3 columns on your character board that give you bonus point values depending on what building you built. You guys had leveled up to the 3rd where it says +1 wisdom but none of you addressed it. Do you get another wisdom when unlocking that or is that for something else?
Did I misunderstand? The first time Monique placed additional followers on the board, she had not completed her first horizon line. Doesn't that limit her to one follower on the board?
Oooo I've played this game last February and loved it! Unfortunately, the other two did not and I was unable to play it ever since D: Hopefully someday I'll try it again. I really like how it gives the feel of tectonic shifting XD I was curious how it played with two
Is there a purpose to the holes punched out of the player boards?
I have the same question lol?!
The deluxe version has a front and back cardboard piece that you then plug/cap to make a 2 layer board. Neat idea if they ever wanted to change out the insert for different powers/upgrades.
I want more play throughs and reviews.
Anachrony is going to be our next playthrough & review and it's coming in a few days =)
@@BeforeYouPlay thanks for the reply. how do you guys choose between doing a play through versus play through and review?
Not sure if these were mentioned, but I can't see a Klingon added for them:
- 39:10 Naveen should have gone to 7 points (leapfrogs Automa on first jump and lands on 6, second one to 7)
- 54:48 Naveen should have gone to 11 points (leapfrogs Automa on first jump and lands on 10, second one to 11)
Not sure how/if this would have influenced the game, but thought I'd point them out
Oh! When ascending you still count the occupied spaces as normal. You only get a passive bump up if you were to end your ascension on a space that is already occupied.
@@BeforeYouPlay Thank you for the clarification! Makes sense now
43:06 - You can't end your journey on another tile with another player?
Edit: Ohhhhhh! This was the biggest rules misinterpetation I made then. The Sacred tile and the Mountain tile are considered different spaces!
1:07:34 - I think Naveen definitely had an ideal 3rd (and final move) an that was to Journey his follower from A5 onto the site so he could cash in on the end-game points.
I cannot beat even the easiest Automas. I reckon I'm misunderstanding some rule, which is why I'm here!
Oooh are you ascending the automa when they make sacred sites? That was one mistake we made early on that caused us to really lose lol
@@BeforeYouPlay Never made that mistake! What I did make a mistake on was advancing only one of their wisdom caps if they cashed in on 2 or 3 wisdom. but even then I'm still losing lol!
Edit: I misread the rule about the Horizon Line, thinking I had to upgrade all 8 upgrade columns. That probably contributes to the inefficient plays.
