- Baba Is You - the return to ???. We are on the quest to complete all the visible levels and maybe find a big Baba. On the way, we find a very interesting contradiction.

Should be better vibes this video than the last one, even though some levels were still insanely difficult. ALSO, I just got back from my parents' house for Thanksgiving, you may not have noticed I was gone because I actually prepared videos ahead of time this time. But this means that I'll be able to get back to streaming! Can we beat Baba tomorrow?

I used to ignore watching you play this game, but then I gave it a watch anyways and I absolutely love the thinking this game requires.

I actually tried to play the game, but I can't get out of the overworld.
Honestly, this guy must have like 200 IQ with figuring all this stuff out, I mean how would he come up with answers so fast?!
(yes, I know he's streaming and some thinking moments are cut out, but he's still figuring it out much faster than me)

I don't think you're intended to be able to make LEVEL IS [noun] in Ultimate Maze. You can do things like LEVEL IS TEXT to get "LEVEL" on the map screen, but it's really buggy (most objects that you can turn into LEVELs that way don't actually have any levels to visit)

The coding for this game must be nuts.
As a coder myself, I'm guessing that Baba Is You is to the Command, Decorator, and State Patterns what the Sistine Chapel is to Biblical illustrations.

i can imagine what this game code looks like.
It would be a list of all object types in the stage. And each object type would have a list of behaviors associated with it
Everytime you move it, checks the level rules in the level.
change the object types if necessary(ie, making every wall, not a wall) and remaps the behaviors for each object type
Then it it goes to each behavior that does something(like you, move, sink, etc) one by one and cause the changes in the level based on it on the affected tiles.
God, it’s so much fun to watch someone competent finding out all of the secrets. Like I would’ve never figured to try winning the overworld if it wasn’t for the internet

Everyone in the comments in saying that they’re staying up ‘till 2 or 3 in the morning to watch these videos as soon as they come out, but these vids are uploaded for me at 8pm (which is probably because i live in Australia)
This is such a niche reference but when you say the level names it has the same energy as “heavy dog” from the shadow snapcube dub

this maze level is probably the most insane sole-level in the game honestly
In order to access baba in the overworld first you need to go in level 7 then put the sentence level is push and baba

Just a corner case of the rules system. It's interpreted as (WALL IS NOT) (WALL), not (WALL IS) (NOT WALL).
"WALL IS ALL" would do what you want.
