Cluedo is called that because play in Latin is ludo. Hence the study of games is called ludology. There is also a famous boardgame called Ludo.
When the game was being released in America it was figured that no one would get the connection as the boardgame Ludo was not popular in the US so they dumbed it down.

Favorite board games at the time: Munchkin/ Arkham Horror (3d edition) / Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards.
Go is the oldest and precedes checkers and chess. I forgot what it’s called elsewhere but in English we call it go. You can pick up a modern board at target, but it’s very old game. You may have seen it, it has black and white pebbles .

I have to agree Telestrations is one of the funniest games I've ever played!! It doesnt matter if you can't draw, in fact if you can't draw it just makes it even more hilarious!
A proper rib tickling game! I've never laughed so hard whilst playing a game. I'd highly recommend it!

One game that none of my American friends know, that Jim would remember, would be NIGHTMARE! It was a VHS horror board game.
Yeah I enjoyed Nightmare. I had Baron Samedi too, Never got around to getting any of the other expansions though.

also oldest known game is the royal game of ur named after the city it was discovered it predates senet there is a copy in the british museum :)

I'd define Eurogame as a game where victory points is the sole determining factor for winning. You could have all the money in the world and all of the properties in the world, but if you don't have the most point, you don't win.
