@em101112 That would be the treasonous, un-American snowflakes who melt from the truth. That Trump is a dirty, stupid traitor. You know, the fascist pigs operating on the dishonest politics of outrage, slandering others who are possibly doing something responsible as turning away from animal flesh.
@em101112 Why would you assume that someone pointing out Trump's faults is a Biden supporter? Are you so stuck up Trump's ass that you can't acknowledge genuine criticisms?
I travelled all over the world during my Navy days and CCR is one of those bands with universal acceptance. Heard them being blasted in cantinas in Peru, Chile, Portugal, Spain, Morocco coffee bars etc.
Prior to CCR, John Fogerty gotten drafted for Vietnam War in 1966. Immediately, he signed up for the Army. John went in as a Reservist supply clerk. John completed his service in 1968. I believed during his time in the Army, John wrote this song about the guys who served with him. While they served, rich and wealthy families pay to keep their kids out of the war.
The song is about the draft of the Vietnam war that rich kids would get a less change of getting drafted to go fight and decide if they're going to war or not and how poor kids would often go and get drafted and fight.
Check out other songs by CCR. Lookin out my back door, born on the bayou, up around the bend, someday never comes are all good songs. Can’t really go wrong with any of their stuff.
Very true song, if you were rich and had connections, you weren't drafted. If your parents were poor like mine, or a minority, you had to go. I did,and fatalities from the war prove it. Masters of war.
I am a baby boomer. Some of the songs from the 60s and 70s are songs against the war in Vietnam. This is one of them. Like so many of the songs back then the lyrics in this song are more important than the music. A fortunate son is one who avoided getting drafted, especially if he was born into wealth. UA-cam has the lyrics on video. Just a suggestion 😌
NOPE. None of Creedence ever went to Vietnam or any war..... BUT they did see all the BS that was happening to people their age getting killed over there.
Good one guys, great band. Definitely a Vietnam War protest song. That war was a joke, if your parents could afford to send you to college you were exempt from the draft. If your daddy was rich or a politician you were safe. Let me tell you brother, if that was you or me our asses would have been over there fighting. That was the most unnecessary war ever fought by this nation. Go to the Vietnam War Memorial in DC and when you see almost 58,000 names inscribed there it will bring a tear too your eyes. What a waste of young American lives. Check out "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" by this band, probably my favorite by them. I haven't got around to your John Lennon "Imagine" but will soon. Peace, young ones ☮️✌️💕
I liked the song when it first came out. I joined the Marine Corps in 1965 when I was 18 and served two combat tours in Vietnam and retired after 20 years in 1985.
Vietnam's protests songs...63 to 73 Vietnam War was a big divide in Country. Draft was used for first time since WW2...Hippie movement full force. You can hear it in the music, I was in High School so many friends where drafted, I can remember when the lottery numbers were announced every few months, praying my Brothers number didn't come up...I spent many hours Protesting Vietnam War. Women's Rights, Civil Rights. Then you had the Assasination of John F Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, and Martin Luther King during these years....again you can hear it in the music, Hippies was counterculture, fighting back against establishment, Equality, for all. I was proud to be part of changes... I keep waiting for the next Generation to step up, Hippies were all about Love Peace, Change. At least we left the World with a soundtrack of our generation...Great music comes from pain, loss, hope, love, Enjoy your Journey Music is Educational, shows history, 🤗
Love CCR… so many really good songs. Lead singer John Fogerty has some fantastic solo music… check out ‘Old Man Down The Road’ and ‘Rock and Roll Girls’. 🇦🇺
You heard it many many times, every Vietnam war movie probably played it or parts of it! CCR long list below of a few of their songs by others. Thank you for reacting to them I look forward to your next one! You 2 love coming your way virtual hug!
Great band. They sang the songbook of the whole 1960's to a generation of hippies who are still around today and still love their iconic music. John Fogerty is the lead singer and he also wrote 'Rockin' All Over The World' and did an amazing cover of 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' amongst many other '60's classics.
John Fogerty was one of the greatest social songwriters (and just plain fun tunes) in the rock era. His solo work is great, too. And what a singular voice!
This is a Vietnam War era song. I remember it when it came out. "Fortunate Sons" were sons of Senators, Congressmen and the rich who got out of being drafted during the War by way of their Daddy's name. It was a song in protest of that. Vietnam was a very controversial war and probably the first time that citizens ever protested a war.
Been a huge fan since 1968, first song Suzie Q. John Fogerty is such a great singer and plays a mean guitar. Had many many hits. Proud Mary, Born in the Bayou, Heard it Thru the Grapevine, Traveling Band, Lodi, Up around the Bend and more. Did a terrific cover of Ray Charles The Night Time is the Right Time, they were on 🔥 Fire.
This song is the reason why I'm a United Stated Airforce F16 Pilot lol and the song was in black ops 1 but I'm retired :)) love that song so much I still listen to it today
Vietnam war era song. 1970. Almost every artist, or Band had a war protest song at the time. "CCR" (shortened name) was such a great Band. They were the first Band I ever went to see in concert. I was 15 years old in 1972 and saw them in The Seattle Center Coliseum. It was great.
I did play in call of duty I think black ops 1 & this song is a fantastic song. my dad is a huge CCR fan my dad was in his mid 20s when CCR was a band and he still has the CCR Records that he bought
CCR is one of if not My Fave Rock Bands of all time. there is not a single song of thiers that doesn't Rock in one way or another, thanks for this and Please Dive Head First into this rabbit hole that is CCR
A solid gold classic. Not surprised you heard it from Call of Duty, since it's known as a common Vietnam war era song, which is the era when it was recorded.
Ccr is a great band sooooo many songs Proud Mary Down on the corner Born on the bayou Have you ever seen the rain Bad moon rising This song is a quintessential anti-vietnam song
This is a anti-war song and it was released in October 1969. Context is everything. In 1969 226 American soldiers were killed per week. In '68 it was 325 per week. For some reason anti war tunes were popular in those days. /S
Creedence is an awesome band. They don't have a bad song. I suggest "I Heard it through the Grapevine" by them but make sure you listen to the 11 minute version. The shorter version is not worth it.
Nice Reaction! Glad you're taking the venture into CCR They were a great band, with a huge library of great song's Which are timeless as CCR is still played just about everywhere. Looking forward to see what you both will react to next by CCR (Wrote A Song For Everyone) & (The Night Time Is The Right Time) Are a couple song's I think you'll both enjoy. Really enjoying your channel, Cheers from Canada! I'll have a look in the comments & see what else has been suggested And may suggest a couple more if they haven't been mentioned yet.
CCR is my favorite !Please do SWEET HICH HIKER and UP AROUND THE BEND and DOWN ON THE CORNER and MIDNIGHT SPECIAL and BORN ON THE BUYOU and LOOKING OUT MY BACK DOOR !!
I love🤗 CCR, they were much appreciated by all military in land, sea, air and JUNGLE. When you react to songs from the 60s-70s keep in mind the turbulent protests involving various causes during that era. A good explanation in song is *Ball of Confusion* by The Temptations. Either with lyrics or listen carefully
These bands, groups, & singers may be new to you. But unfortunately quite a few have passed away already. The lead singer of CCR John Fogerty is one of my favourite singers, from my youth.
When the singer, John Fogerty, split off to be an independent band his previous record label sued him over his song "The Old Man Down the Road". The record company said it sounded too much like CCR's song "Run through the Jungle". The judge ruled in favor of Fogerty saying you can't sue somebody for ripping off their own sound and voice.
It was actually a jury trial. To add details; Fantasy Records sued John for the similarities between the songs, both of which he wrote, arranged, played guitar & sang lead on. In the 1988 trial, John explained the differences & similarities between his songs (including his signature Swamp Rock sound). His side argued, if he were guilty of plagiarizing himself, it would mean that no one with a unique style or sound could ever work freely in their field, as they’d effectively be indentured to a prior band or company. After just 2 hours of deliberation, the jury ruled in his favor. Had Fantasy won, John would have had to pay their attorney fees, but as defendant, he wasn’t automatically entitled to his fees. John then sued Fantasy for his 1.9 million in attorney fees. The court ruled he could only seek fees if he proved Fantasy’s suit was frivolous or in bad faith. He appealed, all the way to the US Supreme Court, where in 1994, Fogerty v Fantasy, the court ruled 9-0 in his favor. This ruling radically reduced the incentive for former entities to go after others who likewise leave a band or a label.
You’re omitting the fact that Fogerty sold his songwriting credits to Fantasy when he was young and naive about the industry. That gave them the standing to sue. Glad the legal system worked in his favor, but no one should ever sell their songwriting credits. If the song has a long life, gets licensed to film productions, etc. that songwriting credit can be a continuing source of income.
@@netzahuacoyotl Per John, the deal he had with Fantasy was 50/50. However, had they prevailed in the court case, it would have been as though 2nd song had no right to exist & Fantasy would have taken 100% of "Old Man" royalties. He tells of the 50% deal in a vid titled "John Fogerty Discusses His Landmark Court Case at the Grammy Museum" (I hesitate to put in the link, because UA-cam seems to be deleting some posts with links).
Crazy but true story the lead singer John Fogerty after leaving the band and starting his own career got sued by his former record company for sounding too much like John Fogerty lol
The Vietnam War was long over, but my kids still had to register for the draft when they turned 18. They didn't even know what it was, so I explained it. One son: "Well, I'm not doing that!" Me: Well, you'll be arrested." Him: "WHATT??!" #BornInTheUSA
hello, you should react to LEADBELLY, to which, all the famous bands of the times became famous with the covers of their songs like credence. today young people do not know about it
A famous Vietnam era anti-war song. John Fogerty is the lead singer / songwriter / guitar player for the band. He's written a lot of great songs you'll recognize, e.g., "Proud Mary". Excellent song. It’s about the Vietnam war and how rich people children got out of the draft.

I'm a Disabled Army Veteran and its do true when you ask them how much should we give their only answer is more. More and more
You’ve now entered the CCR universe. They’re one of the best American bands. PERIOD! Also check out grand funk

I am so happy that younger people are starting to discover the classic music
John Fogerty, the lead singer, wrote another song called "Looking Out My Back Door" about his joy at making it back from Viet Nam in one piece.
NOPE. None of Creedence ever went to Vietnam or any war..... BUT they did see all the BS that was happening to people their age getting killed over there.
For your next one, Born On The Bayou is essential CCR, you gotta listen to it when you get the chance.

Their songs are short but “sweet” as they say.

This song has been used in a ton of movies, particularly Vietnam war era movies

Looking out my backdoor is another banger of CCR. Highly recommended !
CCR made a lot of big hits but saw little profit - as the record company kept most of it. A big reason why they stopped making music.
CCR = AMAZING
This song was in black ops. The first one. Like the 4th mission. To answer your question
