35:55 The "Oswald compromised" line was a clever line, Oswald was the shooter of JFK but the CIA said there were two hitmen at that time, since Oswald is compromised Mason might be the one who actually shot JFK.
It implies but it’s never revealed and is still mystery in call of duty. But It was Oswald who killed JFK in call of duty universe. So Mason might have been involved in helping.
THE NUMBERS MASON! What do they mean? What do they tell you? GOD I LOVE that quote. This is one of the best plot twists in any game. No cod before or after has managed to surpass it. It makes Dragovich end all the more fulfilling. Also Reznov was not bad, he just made you his back up plan by essentially giving you his purpose. He wasn't a bad person, he was just hurt and he wanted to avenge his friend and also help his other friend.
This never gets addressed again so I’m just gonna let you know. The ending alludes to Mason being involved in Kennedy’s Assassination. If you look at the mission dates for Rebirth they take place after Kennedy was assassinated. Hudson tells Mason that there gaps in his memory, periods of time where they couldn’t account for him. Plus that mission where he is in the Pentagon after Vorkuta where he hallucinates pulling a gun on Kennedy. I always interpreted it as Mason fighting the programming that Dragovich gave to him.
He also says Oswald, Compromised and I can't figure whether that means that Oswald was supposed to assist Mason or if he was the fall guy deliberately put to take the blame.
@@JonesySpaceCat I think he is alive technically. In the menu you can break out of the chair and you can access a computer and you can find emails from a "John Trent" and he says things that reznov does. In one of the emails to hudson he says "Please tell Mason one last thing. This time it's freedom for both of us."
Viktor was always dead, from the beginning of your escape. Freedom was for you, never him. That plot twist, blew my effin' mind when I first saw it. XD
Viktor himself did not condition Alex. He merely tampered with his programming, after Nikita and Lev had failed to get him to follow their orders at Vorkuta.
The twist that got everyone. Fun fact, apparently after Vorkuta, the 1st letters of all the mission names spell out "Reznov is dead". Don't actually know how true that is. Can't wait to see you play Black Ops 2 Jonesy! Just remember: Have fun!
@@JonesySpaceCat after black ops 2 most of the campaigns arent really worth playing. black ops 3 isnt that good. if you want to play a futuristic one with a good campaign infinite warfare is good. new cold war campaign is decent too but quite similar to this one and you might aswell play it before gulf war comes out in october/november. i guess the first modern warfare reboot from 2019 is ok too, if you want a more up to date one. but 2 and 3 arent that good. and the story hasnt finished yet will have to wait 2-3 years for mw4 if it ever comes out. also some of the story takes place with multiplayer and battle royal/warzone cutscenes. but the cool thing with the new black ops and mw games is that they are more tied together, like marvel avengers lol.
I love how this game gives you SO MANY hints that you notice much more on a second playthrough. In Hue City, the room where you "find" Reznov again, you can see the actual defector lying dead against the table where you pick up the documents, and when Reznov speaks the projector in the background switches from images of Vietnam to images of Vorkuta. Literally none of the other characters speak back to Reznov any time he talks, and during any of the underwater sequences you can see bubbles coming from Woods, but not from Reznov. A final hint, one that probably very few people have noticed, is actually Reznov's pointer finger on his right hand. In World at War, he loses the tip of it before meeting Dimitri in Stalingrad, hence why he needs Dimitri to use the sniper rifle. Throughout the rest of World at War, his right pointer finger is noticeably shorter, and Reznov fires his submachine gun using his *middle* finger. Pay close attention to his model in Vorkuta and in the flashback to after WW2, and this is the same. But all the times Mason is imagining him, Reznov seems to have a default hand model, using the pointer finger to shoot just like everyone else does. It's not an oversight; it's yet another tiny little nod to the fact that Resnov isn't actually there.
The most ridicolous one that I somehow never thought of was that Reznov wasn't in the falling chopper in Victor Charlie yet he somehow just happens to come for rescue as if he was just hiking in 'Nam in the exact place they crash land
If you tap the triggers on the main menu, it allows you to walk around the computer room, freely. There's a terminal you can access that then allows you to see what possibly happened to Resnov. They're not spoilers for BO2,.
The numbers don't mean anything in real life, but they are translatable in the game. It's rather complex but the cipher starts by assigning every letter a number value (A=0, B=1, C=2... Z=25). Each number sequence begins with a word and then a number and then the number sequence (Echelon 5 [number sequence]). The number next to the word (in this case, 5) corresponds with a page from the book "Profiles in Courage" written by John F. Kennedy in 1955 and the word corresponds to information being provided (in this case, Echelon) or a command being given (Ascension). The number sequence (in this case, 21 0 8 18 15 14 7 21 16 23 9 14 23 0 6 18 4) is subtracted by the number value of the letters in the sentence from the book (himself, he is also obligated to consider...) to get a new letter (21 - 7 [H] = 14 [O]). Doing this for every letter in the sentence from the book gives you the new message: OSWALD COMPROMISED; Lee Harvey Oswald was the man charged with the assassination of JFK but there were rumors that there were more than one gunman and this cipher seems to be the Russians informing Mason that Oswald - his accomplice - was compromised and that it would be up to him to kill Kennedy. Like I said, this is all very complex, but I do encourage looking in to it if the headaches and confusion don't bother you. There's also a lot of these sequences in the game, not just this one.
Loved your playthrough, this story is phenomenal! And it is heavily implied with Mason being MIA for a few years as Hudson said, Mason saying ”Oswald compromised”, Dragovich saying ”tried? (to make Mason kill the president)” and the ending clip that Mason was involved in the assassination of Kennedy.
Amazing episode, Jonesy. I wished somebody loved me as much as you love Resnov 😂. It was hard to notice how Resnov would appear out of nowhere and nobody else would talk to him. This was a very unique COD game. Well done. Cheers ❤

So theres been theories that there where more than one gunmen at the JFK assassination, and the ending basically plays on that theory, personally not knowing if Mason was or wasnt the one to kill the president still sits in my mind till this day
The numbers do mean something. It is some cryptographic code that the developers used to translate a message. There is an old video on UA-cam that you can watch where someone breaks down the hidden message in the numbers
You’re so lucky you didn’t die in that hazma suit thing to nova gas and I didn’t even know there was a achievement for it which you got. If it breaks, Hudson does a choking death
Reznov may be dead but in Steiner's last moments he knew exactly who was speaking to him from beyond the grave. Reznov did get his revenge, just never lived to see it 😭 What a truly phenomenal game.

It was an amazing video, always great with that big twist with Reznov and the numbers too. An amazing video And then it finished and I could hear the numbers afterwards 😰 oh no 🤣
37:05 The "Numbers" Brainwashing worked half-way on a logistical standard. But, when it came time to actuate orders, Mason was resistant to comply with the orders the numbers were giving him. Most likely, 1.) Due to his strong opposition to his captors which already, in gamer terms, was a factor of resistance. And 2.) Mason himself, like Steiner said, was an atypical subject with a naturally very strong will beyond what seemed normal. Put those two together and it made for a helluva defense to attempt to bypass. Mason was thus abandoned to his fate as just another prisoner of Vorkuta to be forgotten by time and "rot" as Dragovich said. Resnov was also a prisoner at Vorkuta. He already knew of Nova 6 and probably learnt that the chemical weapon and knowledge of it had survived the sinking and probably learnt about what was going on behind closed doors at Vorkuta. Perhaps he was friends with Mason already but had learnt he was one of the subjects. Now, whether or not he befriended Mason only to weaponized him against those he hated and/or if he was already a friend in Vorkuta before, is I suppose up for interpretation. However, even if he was a friend, his hatred for Dragovich, Steiner, and Kravchenko was greater... So, Resnov told him all about Dragovich, Steiner, and Kravchenko. He used his brainwashing from the three evil ones to his advantage and "sabotaged" him. Instead of following the numbers completely and to the letter, he would instead react to any stimuli concerning those three instead. When he received the Numbers Broadcast, it would trigger the hatred for them. Because Resnov became a friend in a wretched hellhole that was Vorkuta and had found a "brother" in him, and Mason already having negative feelings towards Dragovich and the others, it allowed for the "programming" from Resnov to work, as Mason was more open and receptive to this sentiment as it came from a friend. THAT'S WHY IT WORKED, when the Evil Three's programming did not.
Best Call of duty campaign! Also the footage at 1:06:17 was the assassination of JFK and ties it to mason as it zooms in on him… 1:04:07 at the end notice how at Dragovich says “Tried?” Right at the end was just to do with the zombies game mode don’t worry about that. Loved the playthrough RIP Reznov ❤️
Oh, so good, bo1 my favorite cod... And Mason, my favorite character. In my opinion he's the strongest, and most resilient of them all, in every cod ... Al the stuff he has gone through and still manages to kick ass like nobody else
i wish you would have played the zombie monde at the end... i alsmot forgot that it was this game who put it back on tracks, now some players even call it "COD zombie" because it's such a thing of it's own

Oh, the Numbers Stations were very real, but AFAIK were mostly retired with advent of affordable global communication.
NICE. One of the best plot twists in gaming. Next up, Black Ops 2, my favorite CoD campaign. 🤘🤘Also, word of warning, Black Ops 2 has multiple endings, so depending on how you play, you may get a happy ending or you might get the shittiest ending imaginable. Also after you’re done with the next game, you should watch the rest of the endings on UA-cam. Keep it up 🤘
Aye you surpassed Vietnam and the cold war!! good job Jonesy!!. After mw3 and black ops 1 the campaigns get fuzzy for me. The newer ones are kinda milked.
1:05:26 . Yo Joe! You're an American hero gurl 😃 . Wooohooo! This was fk'n badass! I really enjoyed this episode and playthrough. Have an awesome day "Jonesy 💐🎉🙌
I do not think Resnov is "evil" for this necessarily... I think he was a man deeply hurt and ultimately betrayed by the land he called home. At this point, he'd been in Vorkuta for a little less than 20 years and he longed for a chance for vengeance against the men who wronged him and killed his best friend who deserved to be known as a hero. It's complicated... I get Mason's feeling of betrayal at what Resnov did.
You played World At War at the end of the story, Zombies begins with dlc that leads to a different story for the black ops line, so there is the campaign, and then the Zombies storyline, then at the end of Black Ops the continuation Zombies begins then goes to bo2, bo3, and bo4 has a new Zombies story mixed with the old story then Cold War is the new Zombies story that goes into MW3 reboot Vanguard has a whole different Zombies story
That twist actually got me! But I loved it. This series was really fun! The gameplay is great and having a great story is a bonus. I am happy we experienced it together!
Great Job Beating the game mate🤗😊❤❤❤❤👍 lets hope Black Ops 2 doesnt have Enemies with God mode on 😅😄if only we could've seen you play a bit of Zombies lol anyways Ill be seeing you in Black Ops 2 mate🇺🇸❤🇬🇧
another great playthrough! with all these numbers in my head, I might as well play the lottery!👏👏👏 hopefully the CIA will not read my comment, but if Oswald was the patsy and Mason was the second shooter, who was the third? the Comedian from Watchmen? now the "triangulation of crossfire theory" makes sense...and speaking of Oswald, who played Lee Harvey Oswald in Oliver Stone's JFK? GARY OLDMAAAAAAN!
Hey Jonesy you loving the Call of Duty Black Ops 1, are you gonna play Call of Duty Black Ops 2 next?! To continue more of the current story of Mason, I'm not gonna be a spolied but let you play the campaign where you left off as Mason?
cant wait for bo2 i loved watching you play Waw and bo1, just keep in mind there are many endings for bo2 and i highly suggest after playing and finishing bo2 you watch & react to a video on all the endings showing all possible outcomes. imo bo2 is so good specifically because of all the possible endings.
sorry about this long comment but I literally cant wait for you to play black ops 2, you'll absolutely love it! This game is insanely nostalgic, treyarch games are just the best, you will probably like black ops 2 even more!! The JFK at the end was just telling you that mason was at the JFK assassination, it doesn't say if he was there to kill him or if he was there to stop other sleeper agents from killing him, it's never revealed, the numbers in masons case were the time and place of the JFK assassination as well as the ammo type he should use but it can be any information needed to follow out whatever they wanted to progam into the minds of agents :) btw black ops 3's campaign wasn't the best, it was a very experimental thing they tried and it didnt work very well (good thing that games mp and zombies are the best of the franchise lmao) and bo4 had no campaign , however, black ops cold war (2020)'s campaign is set in between black ops 1 and 2 and was really great besides for the voice actors being different so the characters seemed a little off, but this years cod will be a black ops game as well so you're playing these at a great time!
What a great playthrough. Hands down my favorite story in the CoD franchise as a whole. I know I said you could choose to play BO2 or BO: Cold War next, but don't listen to me. Play BO2 next, then Cold War as playing Cold War next will spoil a few things. But glad you enjoyed this game still.
Fair fucks you’ve got really good at these games, if not better than my old healthy self, faster even! It’s been great to watch you through these. Rest in peace tricky vik.
17:30 This is one of my favourite parts of Rebirth; something I don't see enough of is a good CBRN firefight, that this does a good job of demonstrating the importance of suit integrity in a hazardous environment. The Nova-6 creating a smokescreen, making enemy detection tricky and rely on Infrared vision is clever, and the worry comes from not getting hit too many times, or your gas mask gets breached and you die a horrible death. I also love that the mask damage is permanent; a nice bit of tension each time you get shot. That and the track playing during the section "Mask Walk" is a banger of a track that makes fighting so cool. P.S: That JFK thing with the Zombies, that's just the game throwing you into the game's Zombies horde survival game mode, which is a mode that World at War introduced with its Nazi Zombies mode. It is its own thing detached from the campaigns, but It's a fun mini-game, you should get a friend to stream it. I'd watch it.
Congratulations on beating the game. You did great. I highly recommend playing black ops II. In my opinion, it has the best plot and twist in all COD franchises cause based on your decisions throughout the game, you can get different mind-blowing endings.
After you are finished playing either Black Ops 1 or Black Ops 2. you really should try Halo. It is an excellent series with a fantastic story. Especially the original games. Definitely consider giving Halo a go when you get some free time.
“You tried to make me kill my own president!” *_”Tried?”_* Oof. (A subtle hint Hudson was the interrogator was the line “Give us what we want and we’ll guarantee your safety.” He uses it with Mason at the beginning of the game and Dr. Clarke in the rooftop mission.)
It's another Sunday with you Jonesy and it's the final part of Call of Duty: Black Ops it's been a great time and I can't wait to see what is next have a great week Jonesy.🇬🇧🐶🐱🇬🇧

Also, I didn't mention this before, but the numbers announcer is Emmanuelle chriquie. She makes a little cameo in the end.
Best Call of duty campaign!
Also the footage at 1:06:17 was the assassination of JFK and ties it to mason as it zooms in on him… 1:04:07 at the end notice how at Dragovich says “Tried?”
Right at the end was just to do with the zombies game mode don’t worry about that.
Hey Jonesy, thank you for the sunday afternoon upload.. I hope you have a good day
Ah thank you!
Hope you enjoy the episode 😊
"i'm just gonna wait, annd do as I'm told.."
Gets spotted a second time.
@@JonesySpaceCat
That was awesome jonesy
Thanks to Black Ops, Treyarch is now well known for their mindfuck campaigns.
I miss so much jonesy and thé last épisode of black ops thank u so much 4 play my favorite cod 💚🫂🥹love u
i wish you would have played the zombie monde at the end... i alsmot forgot that it was this game who put it back on tracks, now some players even call it "COD zombie" because it's such a thing of it's own
Oh, the Numbers Stations were very real, but AFAIK were mostly retired with advent of affordable global communication.
Thank you Dee 😊
If there is one more incident of friendly fire from you, you are on kitchen patrol for a month
😬😬
I do not think Resnov is "evil" for this necessarily... I think he was a man deeply hurt and ultimately betrayed by the land he called home. At this point, he'd been in Vorkuta for a little less than 20 years and he longed for a chance for vengeance against the men who wronged him and killed his best friend who deserved to be known as a hero. It's complicated... I get Mason's feeling of betrayal at what Resnov did.
Fun fact : The Story felt so real that on reedit everyone thought that Nova 6 is real :))
oh really?!?
@@JonesySpaceCat yep
Tap the triggers in the main menu ;)
Reznov died after they were released from prison. When Mason escaped on the train,
😭
Reznov is dead or is he dead? There was never no body
Oh I will defo be playing Zombies in the future!! 😊
That twist actually got me! But I loved it. This series was really fun! The gameplay is great and having a great story is a bonus. I am happy we experienced it together!
thank you for sharing this journey with me!!
On to BO2!😄
You’re welcome Jonesy! Can’t wait to the next Game!
If they brought resnov back for bo6 would be great. Even in masons head
Well now on to Black ops 2 and for me is the best ever cod campaign of all time let’s go 🎉
Great Job Beating the game mate🤗😊❤❤❤❤👍 lets hope Black Ops 2 doesnt have Enemies with God mode on 😅😄if only we could've seen you play a bit of Zombies lol anyways Ill be seeing you in Black Ops 2 mate🇺🇸❤🇬🇧
Thanks Adrian!!
Zombies are coming as well as BO2 🙌
I can't wait for you to play Black ops 2, it'll be fun to watch your reaction and is the most popular COD.👍
another great playthrough! with all these numbers in my head, I might as well play the lottery!👏👏👏
hopefully the CIA will not read my comment, but if Oswald was the patsy and Mason was the second shooter, who was the third? the Comedian from Watchmen? now the "triangulation of crossfire theory" makes sense...and speaking of Oswald, who played Lee Harvey Oswald in Oliver Stone's JFK?
GARY OLDMAAAAAAN!
Awesome video
thank you!
Let's goooo I am so excited to watch this finally get to get your mind blown ,the numbers mason. What do they mean!?
This was an incredible journey. Thank you for sharing it with me!
Best COD ending! Glad to see ya experiencing it! 🙌
thank you for sharing the journey with me!
l think you done great playing this game .. and how the story comig togther and you will be so happy after you come to the end of the game
Hey Jonesy you loving the Call of Duty Black Ops 1, are you gonna play Call of Duty Black Ops 2 next?! To continue more of the current story of Mason, I'm not gonna be a spolied but let you play the campaign where you left off as Mason?
BO2 is coming soon
Yes, congrats! I loved your playthrough! I can't wait for BO2.
Thank you!!
BO2 is coming soon!
cant wait for bo2 i loved watching you play Waw and bo1, just keep in mind there are many endings for bo2 and i highly suggest after playing and finishing bo2 you watch & react to a video on all the endings showing all possible outcomes. imo bo2 is so good specifically because of all the possible endings.
Interesting, thank you for letting me know there are different endings!!
@@JonesySpaceCat of course! cod cold war also has an alternative ending so it has 2 technically
sorry about this long comment but I literally cant wait for you to play black ops 2, you'll absolutely love it!
BO2 is defo coming next 😄
BUM BUM BUUUUM!
Fair fucks you’ve got really good at these games, if not better than my old healthy self, faster even! It’s been great to watch you through these. Rest in peace tricky vik.
Thank you Welsh. It was defo a rocky start... but I kinda got there 😂
Glad you enjoyed it
I loved it!
I don't know if this is a spoiler but there are multiple endings in BO2 you have to do certain things to get the good ending
Anyone that's ever played this game will definitely say it was the one of the most adventurous games ever made. Wouldn't u agree Jonesy???
yes yes and yes
oooooo im waiting for call of duty cold war
BO2 is next
THE NUMBERS JONESY!! Now you know what they mean!
i was not expecting that zombie ending
that's some good shit right there XD
Reznov is still alive in black ops
really?
rebirth best treyarch cod campaign mission ? I think so
Congratulations on beating the game. You did great.
I highly recommend playing black ops II. In my opinion, it has the best plot and twist in all COD franchises cause based on your decisions throughout the game, you can get different mind-blowing endings.
BO2 is coming soon! 😄
@@JonesySpaceCat Wow. Great news😊. In that case, God be with you 😁
Did you prefer this or world at war?
you cant make me pick 😂
@@JonesySpaceCat all good lol
1:08:46 Badass moment ☠️
So badass 🙌
After you are finished playing either Black Ops 1 or Black Ops 2. you really should try Halo. It is an excellent series with a fantastic story. Especially the original games. Definitely consider giving Halo a go when you get some free time.
“You tried to make me kill my own president!”
*_”Tried?”_*
Oof.
(A subtle hint Hudson was the interrogator was the line “Give us what we want and we’ll guarantee your safety.” He uses it with Mason at the beginning of the game and Dr. Clarke in the rooftop mission.)
Ooof that hit me hard when I was editing.. I didnt notice while playing😄
It's another Sunday with you Jonesy and it's the final part of
Call of Duty: Black Ops it's been a great time and I can't wait
to see what is next have a great week Jonesy.🇬🇧🐶🐱🇬🇧
Hope you enjoy it Roger!
For Black ops 2 there is a canon ending and I have to specify it to you before you play it. Tell me and I'll do it.
And Mason killed Kennedy
Any plans on Rebirth....ing?
Loved this I can’t wait till BO2 now hahaha
Such a great story. Black Ops 2 is good as well, but it's not as good as this one, IMO.
Thanks for the playthrough, Jonesy. Have a crackin day.
thank you Kratos
