My father told me when he heard this song the first time, his English wasn't the greatest, and he thought it was saying "Aaaaa-FRICA"! Can't hear this without thinking of my father. ❤️
ah this is funny!!❤️😍cheers
Same when I was little I thought the same 😂😂😂
We all misinterpreted the lyrics. Freak out is obvious to me.
Africa means alot to him.
😂😂😂
Those guitarists were born to play together. Unmatched funky guitar grooves!
Don’t forget Tony Thompson on drums 👍🎼🎼🎼🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵
Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers were MAGIC together
Really
This song is a cultural treasure...
Again.... that bass line. RIP, and thanks Mr Bernard Edwards.
This song sounds so fresh and modern and is nearly 50 years old! That´s really unbelieveable! It´s music for eternity!
I was in diapers when this song was released, but I still enjoy it.
This is one of the best songs to show off how much of a bass god Bernard Edwards was
does anyone know whic bass Bernard played there?
@@helmutheinisch5247it looks like a BC Rich Eagle bass with single coil.
Imagine having that sexy slick Bass he is playing here would worth a bob if u had it or one close
Bernard Edwards & Nile Rodgers, a golden combination 👍👍👍
Friggin mind blowing to me.
Bernard Edward’s is one of my top 2 bassists of all time!
Absolutely EPIC!
he deserves the nobel prize for bass playing
That bridge section is the greatest thing in popular music, ever.
man, I miss disco so much.
I just marvel at the talent of Bernard Edwards and Chic. The tone he gets out of the bass, his smooth playing and skill is amazing.
Titre légendaire des années 70.
Le bassiste fait un travail fabuleux.
Les violons et la guitare rythmique assurent le reste... Mémorable ! 🎸✨
Don't ignore the genius strings on this timeless jam. Nile is a bad, bad man. RIP Bernie.
Nile Rogers on guitar.... So cool! 🤩
''Music is such a gift. In an insane world, it's one of the things that makes sense.''
-Nile Rodgers
The world could not be any more insane right now. Music is the only thing that makes any real sense. This song is a gift to a lot of us, Nile. Thank you. Stay healthy and safe everyone! Take care, God bless
Rodgers 😇
Now this is what you call great music
Chic what a group.
What a phenomenal and beautiful group.
Bernard Edwards and Nile Rogers with their skill and pure energy hitting it with their basses.
RIP Bernard Edwards
Chic was the sound of disco, period! Their first album personified the disco era. Their style was unique and the instrumentation, vocals and lyrics were "high class" disco that turned it mainstream.
My favorite disco by far...
These 2 ladies are the best
The band is out of this 🌎
Love this tune.. 🎻🎺🎷🎸
And you Debbie, you are out of the world as well ! Love you...
@@RDeckardN6 Thanks
Bernie Edwards was possibly thee best bass guitar player on the planet RIP my friend and thanks for your immense contribution to 70’s music.
My God, he died! RIP as well as Tony Thompson who of course would be part of the Power Station. It's hard to believe they are still not in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. They put the Bee Gees in before "them". In the Mid 2000's the UK Girlband Girls Aloud did their homage to Chic by singing this song. Isn't it amazing they wrote this song after being rejected an entrance into Studio 54 as guests of Grace Jones. They mentioned The Savoy and has hard as they tried it couldn't hold a candle to Studio 54.
Y tambièn Marcus Miller
iu uuuk
He was Absolutely outstanding!
Bernard making that bass talk. Daaammm Beast 💪🙏
All the surroundings orchestral crazy, the girls vocals, Niles groovy guitar and Bernie's bass in the solo break in the middle is epic along with Tony's timing Drums,A perfect all-round song could be a nucleus for Supergroup status what these guys have done.
The bass playing is next level. Best ever!
Amen to that! Genius playing!
I like chic and Le Freak was a classic disco funk track. Nile Rodger's and Bernard Edward's who wrote this song was a timeless classic. The rythum guitar playing and bass guitar with the violins was top notch.
IT'S VIDEOS LIKE THIS THAT KEEPS ME YOUNG,EVEN THO I'M 56 YEARS OLD.THANKS FOR THE POST.
I am 56 too and you take the words from my mouth! Wish you all the best!
I´m 57 .... and still loving these classics ....
55 man and still enjoying this marvelous tune !
I love that funky bass!!
I love these girls! My dream in the 70ies.
This song will never die...because it is very well done and played with class. Lot´s of it. The funky guitar sounds great !
RIGHT - ON!!
What is this sorcery! No digitally enhanced sounds. Real musicians. Real talent. Lord I miss those days
Yeah few and far between now
Can’t get enough of Chic since the 80’s.love love them chic..!
I mostly am a rock person but ugh I really enjoy disco. The instrumentals are always so well thought out and I love the use of strings.
I love the use of strings in this!!!! Classy and absolutely timeless!!!
There were a lot of great disco songs. This was one of them.
Two sexy singers, a magnificent bass player, and perhaps the best guitar riff ever. The strings add a lot to the mix. The result is irresistible.
1977, eu tinha 8 anos no Jardim Brasil SP. Não dançava (porque eu não sei dançar), mas adorava escutar. Chic, KC, Bee Gees, a turma toda.
Disco, Studio 54, deep throat movie and 42nd Street night life... those memories ❤️
The bass line is awesome
It's beyond that
Great band, great song!! Deepest respect for their bass player, the late Bernard Edwards. RIP, sir!! You are still a king! :) :)
2019, 'cause this never gets old!
Agreed :3
In a hundred years time, this will still be a classic. I could listen to the instrumental section with the violins, etc. in the middle of this song, for a month of Sundays!
@@Warriorking.1963 I love that middle section too! The orchestra is my favorite aspect of disco music along with the riffs and the drums!
These timeless classics will NEVER age, even if I do.......😎😎😎💃🕺💃🕺

Nice to see Luci Martin getting some solo camera time on this promo. Alfa was beautiful, and nominal lead vocalist on this song as well as the other best-known Chic songs, but Luci had charisma, too!
I wish that Disco would come back.
The best
Amazing moves Ms Luci 🔥💃🏾
