@@yuh4829 He wished for her to always be happy, which in her words meant he needed to stay by her, he ended up getting beheaded by her fault(she was an evil queen, which she regrets, and they swapped places so she could live and escape). In the end, she isn't happy because he was taken from her, therefore the wish didn't come true.
when you discover the outcome of the whole saga, it ends with the two meeting again in the afterlife (it's kind of a battle) and in a next life, in the present times they meet again

This is the best series out there
My theory she was at a young age (14 years old) and she was a ruler of a kingdom, she was at a young age where she can be greedy. She already realized her mistakes and greed so she has regretted her mistakes when her brother (len) decided to switched places she realized that he would die not her, thats when she realized she is the happiest person she knows when she is with her brother. In the daughter of white she may or may not of killed the princess (rin) and her friend was the green princess (miku) so I’m guessing in the end she has realized her mistakes, her greed and the pain she has put everyone through including the white haired girl. She is not completely evil/bad she was just greedy and wanted everything as she was only 14 years old, and at the age she was a ruler and didn’t know how to correctly lead a kingdom so greed happened. This is just my theory so if you don’t agree thats totally fine! Sorry if my grammar is wrong English isn’t my first language but i do know words and how to pronounce just grammar is just a problem
