The third episode of Class also messed up the UNIT timeline by establishing the year as 2016, despite the fact that if you add up all the time that Amy spent waiting for The Doctor his “death” by Lake Silencio in 2011 and the two of them meeting Kate during the events of The Power Of Three, then that makes “the year of the slow invasion” 2014 at the earliest, which means that the modern day segments of The Day Of The Doctor can’t be taking place before 2015, and we know that Clara’s timeline syncs up with UNIT’s from that point onwards, which wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t for the fact that we see her name on a memorial in Class’s first episode, despite the fact that we saw her celebrating Christmas at least twice between the events of Day Of The Doctor and Face The Raven, making it at least 2017 when she dies.
Think Unit is around right into the far future it has a slight change of name Universe Defence Unit and is probably part of The Shadow Procumanoist and may also at one time had a close connection to Gallifrey in the future but it seems to almost alter due to the Time Wars and recent changes to the current timelines a variant Unit exists under a new title Division-Unit and a variant Gallifrey probably exists outside realities and there's Torchwood coexists in both variants and possibly there yet another exists of different aspects of Kate Stewart to. As for the mainstream BBC organisation that continues to be a variant in itself there's something infinitely inferencing in the shadows of the BBC within. The Nitty Gritty Timelines storm is coming soon something that has been happening since recently due to Sutekh's demise the other effect it may take on all relevant timelines not even The Doctor is aware of yet, but the Guardians are. Trying to get inconsistencies to fit together can be fun as well.
I've joked in the past that UNIT is an effective organization that gets things done, so the United Nations didn't want it to cause people to have unrealistic expectations of them.
the UN are a joke they never get anything done
HAD a moon base, before the egg cracked and gave birth to whatever it was..
"It was a noble effort, but fans didn't seem to notice this is what he was trying to do"
Probably because too many of them were still on their "I don't like that The Doctor's a woman now. Nothing's good in the show now. Humbug!" Train to pay attention.
Yes, I didn't notice it either despite just enjoying Jodie's time as The Doctor as much as possible, but I also didn't know much about UNIT's past in the original serials at the time either, so couldn't have been aware what that plot point was trying to explain.
But liz shaw died in the early naughtiest in the whoverse
Interesting that the United Nations actually trademarked their name & logo. Your taxes at work.
The reason things like that are done is to stop fraudulent use. But trademarks are only legally enforceable if actively defended by the owner.
if Dereck Sherwin doesn't "own" UNIT and it belongs to the BBC, then why do the Daleks not belong to the BBC?
I do know one fact. NO ONE on the team has any idea how a British military unit works, dresses or performs
Geek me: bet I did know them!
Fan of the Channel: It's Ellie, don't be daft and watch it.
I was wondering about the name change. It's incredibly stupid to tell people not to associate the UN with UNIT. At least let people PRETEND that the UN does something worthwhile for humanity outside of relief efforts.
Erm, given it's Dr Who, when you say plant...?
3:20 this looks like Australia
It does! Even more so if you pause & study it.

@@b.p.r. yeah, I thought that.
They need to shut of UNIT again.
Yay
Another show dying a death because of going WOKE!
When you think the UN can't be a bigger joke 🤦
At least it's not quite as bad as it's predecessor The League of Nations, who praised Hitler and Mussolini in the 1930s. Not kidding, look up the history. But if it wasn't for its peacekeepers and charity organisations, it would be nothing, but a toothless discussion assembly.
I tried to talk about the UN but the UA-cam bots as usual are antidemocratic.
Totally.
Don't all male Whovians brag about the size of their UNIT, and how well it's used? ;-P
I don't like the way Disney changed Doctor who it sucks I've watched Doctor who since pertee Disney spirited up
Other than the season length, what in your opinion has actually changed?
Disney didn't do anything to doctor who and they have no control. They can suggest changes but they have to be approved by everyone else.
What has Disney actually changed though, and why would you draw the line at the Disney era and not the Chibnall era?
The evil ICIT acyually appers in the serial The Volcani
Althou unit have signage on buildings, it is hinted at that they know about perseption filters. They have mentioned them asive it is a technology that is quite dull or boring asive they take it for granted.
We know they have other alien technology. Just like Torchwood.
Yay, Ellie is back. We missed you!
Unit Moonbase? Time to introduce the Purple wigs and Eagles.😁
Eagles were _Space:1999._ The Interceptors and Skydivers were _UFO._
@@julietfischer5056 Yes, you are correct. Let the fun begin.
@julietfischer5056 space 1999 are just modified versions of UFO. At least in the beginning.
But they did get rid of the purple wigs a "hot" outfits.
@@ronaldstone1285- It was supposed to be a second season, but became it's own thing.
