For me, the harpsichord performance has become a symbol of Dr. Strange. While watching the recently released Spider-Man: No Way Home, I was thrilled to hear the sound of the harpsichord as soon as the sanctum sanctorum appeared.
No Elfman is crap, He has been crapping on a lot of the MUC music and MOM was terrible. Giacchino should've done Mom and I agree with the last statement
It did find it's way into popular music for a while back in the mid to late 60's during the short-lived Baroque pop renaissance spearheaded by such musical acts (and songs) as *_The Beatles_*_ (Piggies), _*_The Kinks_*_ (Two Sisters), _*_Simon and Garfunkel_*_ (Leaves that Green), _*_Donovan_*_ (Bert's Blues), _*_The Zombies_*_ (Smokey Day), _*_The Left Banke_*_ (Barterer's and Their Wives),_ *The Beau Brummels* (Magic Hollow) and many others. And I do agree with you, it is a very lovely, lyrical and evocative instrument.
What the hell is this instrument... i must say it is freakin epic... it shows adventure and epicness at the same time... idk what it was but combined well specially on the fighting scenes
The ancestor of piano, by the way. I love when some American and Japanese composers know and respect "classic" (and romantic, and so on) music and instruments, even when these instruments were used long before USA existence or before Japan entered the modern world. Cultural curiosity and learning, awesome.
I'm disappointed at Danny Elfman just totally not bothering to use the harpsichord and instead just going with the same old Tim Burton beats. I think at this point it's synonymous to use the harpsichord for Doctor Strange. Hell, they even used it in other movies like "No Way Home" to introduce him.
The use of harpsichord, an ancestor to the modern pianoforte, pairs well with the idea that the language of sorcery is sanskrit, an ancestor to many modern languages.
This is a Tierce de picarde which is commonly used by many composers in classical music to end the piece/song in a major key. And yes, JS Bach definitely liked to use a lot!
Ties de Jong, what I mean is this exact track does not play in any scene in the movie but it's made of all the same themes, chords, and even instruments as throughout the score. For example, the song that plays when he checks the zealot's pulse is "Hippocratic Hypocrite" and can be found here:ua-cam.com/video/G4oMpi0DTZ4/v-deo.html

I love the unique musical cue he gets, as soon as you hear the harpsichord you just know it's him.
That was the moment when I thought "now it's finally starting."
And then danny elfman just ignore it lol

I love that the Doctor Strange theme was done on a softer instrument :D
barbaro267 harpsichord
it sounds amazing.
I love Merlin as well

That's cuz he's a big, tough character with a soft heart. A doctor's heart.

If it ain't baroque, don't fix it.
I'd say I was sorry, but I don't want to lie.
Surprised people don't know that this is a Harpsichord.. widely used during the Baroque era
it's not a well known instrument (and not widely use nowadays) , I only learn it after I took a music course
@@oldcowbb I like your profile photo
Dude. Of course no one has heard of the instrument, it was mostly used from 1600-1700. Smh 🤦♂️
You are surprised people don't know about an instrument from 200 years ago that isn't commonly used nowadays?
That's like saying you're surprised celebrities doesn't know you

i have to say, Harpsichord sounds really magical
i cant believe the emotions this evokes within me. it elevates my mind, and deepens my spirit.
I’m happy I know what a harpsichord sounds like so I had no trouble finding this song
This is the best film of marvel ever!

I LOVED the harpsichord.
The 2nd best title after the last track master of mystic end!
Lovely melody.
this music mesmerizes me it is my favorite in the soundtrack 😍

As much as I love Danny Elfman, I did miss Michael Giacchino in Multiverse of Madness

Yes, it' is baroque style

Well I've never watched Constantine but definitely Star Trek as it is the same composer.
Same. Especially reminds me of the theme in "Into Darkness" when the parents of the dying daughter visited her in the hospital
