Yes to all you said! Thanks, love these behind the process videos. Your work is so deep in the details that I find the how-to fascinating. The grid on top of the image is a perfect example! Keep them coming 🎉🤩

I don’t think some people realise all that goes on behind the scenes, so thank you for watching and enjoying! 🥰 the grid is something I’ve only been doing for the past year and it was like a light bulb moment haha!!

I agree. Especially because you are not tracing someone else’s art, but your subject at the moment for the most realistic result. Really enjoyed the video! Cheering for you😊

Thanks Isabella! Yeah I think tracing would then become wrong if it was someone else’s art haha!😅 When it allows for the most realistic outline it’s an amazing tool!🙈

This might be a good way to practice realism and shading, but you should learn to make an "outline" yourself too. Tracing might give you a good outline so you can just do the details after, but as an artist, you should learn to make a drawing without tracing so you don't have to rely on it every time.

Thanks for your comment, absolutely I agree with you that free hand drawing is a great skill to have. But when you’re a commission based artist you need to be using your time wisely and tracing for a basic outline saves an incredible amount of time. It’s really up to the individual, I don’t think there is any “should or should not” when it comes to art.
