So one piece of advice I can give in regards to this fight: Focus on **YOURSELF**, NOT what the boss is doing. The golden rule of bullet hells is to only pay attention to what's immediately incoming towards you since it helps increase your reaction time considerably. Focusing on the boss purely will make it much harder to react to what's about to slam into you.

JUST GOT MY FIRST DAYTIME EOL KILL TODAY, HAD TO COME BACK TO THIS VIDEO TO REMINISCENCE LIFE BEFORE SUCCESS. Set up for EOL is: Godly Kaleidoscope, Ruthless Xenostaff, Hallowed Summoner set, Fire Gauntlet, Soaring Insignia, Pygmy necklace, Fishron Wings, Brain of Confusion, and Ninja Gear (accessories all have the Menacing modifier). Daytime EOL took me around 6 tries, hope this helped!
Tip: do the fight with a stardust dragon, it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier. But I see that you need it for the cultist. You are the reason I beat the game with the summoner class in expert mode( your so good, it works for mastermode too) keep up the awesome content mate, can't wait to see more!

I've managed to defeat her in roughly 10 attempts! What's funny is I actually forgot to equip my brain of confusion and had my terraspark boots (not even menacing) on xP One thing I'd like to add is that you can use the Empress Wings which has a ton of Upward Movement Speed and also use any Slime mount since it gives a lot of downward movement speed Thanks a lot for the guide!
For anyone struggling, I beat this on my 30th-40th attempt, and the best advice I can give is to memorize the attack pattern she has, especially in the 2nd phase. It gives you insight and knowledge on where, how fast, and how to dodge, depending on the following attack. For example, the homing stars into sun dance used to get me, but after memorizing the pattern, I learned where to go.
Did it 3rd try :0 I recomend bringing another weapon like the blizzard staff even if you are summoner, because you can do even more damage while your minions are attacking
well, guys listen, in 1.4.4 they changed how the dodge ability works, so brain of confusion, hollow armor and ninja gear wont dodge the instakill attacks
This was honestly the most fun boss fight I've ever had in this game. It surprisingly took me only 20 attempts yet I suck at dodging at every other bosses including Moon Lord
Got mine just now :p Couple tips to make this easier that i've used: - if you're playin on expert, just go kill her in a normal world, she has almost 30k less hp. It will take you like 15 mins to speedrun bosses and get to the point when you can summon her, or even less. - use as much horisontal space as you can, but don't go into space. - go for xeno staff. It worked waaay better than any other staff i tried, including raven and sanguine. - you only need 2 flasks in this fight - swiftness and 10% more damage. - for some reason i wasn't able to dodge her projectiles at all. In like 35 attempts i've dodged her contact damage. Imo waste of free damage.
sadly patched, you can no longer dodge empress of light daytime attacks. My way of getting her though is with zenith, all Accessories that would give you more damage and solar flare armour. you can also get a lot of buffs, now you only need to move out the way of 1-2 of her attacks. Hope that helps! Note : Doing this on classic mode is incredibly easy, then you can switch back to your harder difficulties :).
in my opinion, just because you have the ''soaring insignia'' doesn`t mean that you need to fight her in the air, what i recommend: is set 6 long bridges one above the other, make them of planter box, the gap between them its your decision, just dont make them too small, and last i recommed to use the ''Hexxed Branch'' monture, in this fight you need to be fast to make it more easy, and this monture gives you exactly what you need. the first phase its ''easy'' just remember her pattern, now the second phase, height and speed the attack she make in the moment when she enter this phase its easy, just stay still and move in the place where you see a gap, and now th second part its more dificult and starting this point you will use your monture, the firt move are the blades, just fly up as much as you can and let you fall making a 7, in this moment she will use her stars and missiles, when you avoid her blades summon you monture and start running in a straight line ( this is why you need long birdges) to evade her missiles and stay far away of the trails of the stars, now she will use the sun attack this is your only moment to take a breath xd, and now she will use the same blade attack as in its first phase, but there are more blades that predict every move you will make you need to move faster to te safest spot you found with every attack, if you die here don't worry you will get used to this part much faster than you think, and now the first part again but now she will use tiny missiles but they are much annoying use you monture to again but be careful because she's goin to use her blades so in the moment you saw them get down of your mount an go up use the dash if you feel that they will hit you, and finally she will use her missiles again, use your monture if you don't feel comfortable to avoid them normally, and repeat the second part.
That's true. However, I personally feel that free-falling and controlled flight is a much easier way to dodge her attacks. There is also the issue of being a summoner. When you simply run away to avoid her attacks, your summons are usually out of range, which makes the fight drag on. There are other easier methods if you used ranged weapons, but for summoners, there is really a fine balance between staying close enough to deal damage and staying far away to avoid her attacks. That's why using a proper "legit" way of dodging would be most effective for summoners. But yeah, any method is fine as long as it works.
@@Zuzucorn I now i use this method as summoner, it`s true that you need to stay in close range for your summons hit her, that`s why bats are god in this fight, i use a Glass cannon build all in damage that way your summons will not always be in range to hit her, but when they do it cause her a lot of damage, with this strategy a beat her in just 10 attemps and in less than 4 minutes.
i personaly believe that a glass cannon build its the way to go, i just use the hallow armor and the ninja suit for defense, everything else damage with all menacing modifiers, and just pumpkin moon wings. But well i fight her in Master Mode, with the +1 accesory slot tha gives you WoF that gives you it gives you the chance to put one more aggresive accesory
@@jesusbravo6593 the play style is up to the player imo some people can't perform as effectively as others if it does not match their preference. Like people who use mounts and those who don't to beat bosses. It all relies and what works for you.

I finally got Empress of Light daytime (first time doing Empress at all, actually) using the Cute Fishron mount in the rain and switching to an archery build (tsunami + chlorophyte arrows). I didn't realize her teleports after dashing are consistent relative to the dash until watching your vid, thanks! Edit: Nice, I got Kaleidoscope first try!
If anyone is farming it post moonlord for some reason, use the celestial starboard with the soaring insignia. You will dodge her with the speed of light :)

for anyone who wants to do this in normal mode make sure to be using master ninja gear and hallowed armor build a long asphalt runway which really helps to dodge attacks and use a good pair of wings you can do it without defeating golem though it does provide the xeno staff which helps alot if your still struggling then defeat the cultist and take on the star dust pillar to get the star dust dragon staff which just destroys the empresses health

A good setup is also: Remove soaring insignia and wings, replace with witch's broom mount. Remove MNG and Brain of Confusion (dodging doesn't work anymore). In lieu of these accessories, your accessories should be pygmy necklace, papyrus scarab, necromantic scroll, sorcerer emblem, and hercules beetle. Wear Tiki armor, use kaleidoscope, and sanguine staff as weapons.
For first time it took me a 145 tries. Now im going summoner again and im looking forward for my frustration once again. Discord staff saves u a lot also. :)
This video is a year old but- I managed to beat her on my 20th attempt! I used the UFO and staff of discord for mobility and the xeno staff for the summon. Turns out you dont need fancy mobility options when you get used to her attacks. You would think it would be a downside but the UFO's slower movement allowed me to really learn how to weave through everything a lot more precisely. After my 20th attempt she was a breeze afterward! Amazing gold farm selling Terraprisms.
gg, got mine around attempt 70, such a long grueling process. after memorizing the patterns and taking advice from this video, the boss becomes easier.
I just get terraprisma myself today but I rely on kinda clunky dashing + unicorn mount to dodge the homing beam and a stardust dragon, after watching this video I surprised u can dodge it all within midair with fishron wings + soaring insignia which 2 accessories I already have, and u did it pre golem as well with sanguine, I wish I've seen this video first but maybe will try this method next time and I definitely want to say u a great player and have been so much help in my summoner playthrough, thanks a lot for all these videos u made!
I was practising for two days with my friend. We managed to beat it during night... Today i decided to give it a try during a day just for lulz, didn't expect much, tbh. And ya know what?? I shredded her first time w/o hollow armor, ninja gear and brain of confusion! True no hit, omg im so proud of myself...
I did a melee playthrough and allowed for use of summoning as well as just a aid. I destroyed the empress during the day with the Zenith. It was my second time I fought her and the first attempt for the day time fight.

As someone who doesnt really get how people do things, it's really nice to actually see what goes on in a boss battle
step 1:defeat the eol
Step 2: defeat moonlord
Step 1: be a Touhou player and Osu! Player
Well I mean daytime empress is treated as a different boss, as normal eol has drops that are good for daytime, like kaleidoscope and soaring insignia

Y’all..the blade staff is underrated for this. As long as you have an ichor flask and a durendal, it hits like a TRUCK.

The wiki told me her attacks could instakill you. It never mentioned that her attacks go halfway across the map and will slaughter your NPCs.

for anyone who wants to do this in normal mode make sure to be using master ninja gear and hallowed armor build a long asphalt runway which really helps to dodge attacks and use a good pair of wings you can do it without defeating golem though it does provide the xeno staff which helps alot if your still struggling then defeat the cultist and take on the star dust pillar to get the star dust dragon staff which just destroys the empresses health

A good setup is also: Remove soaring insignia and wings, replace with witch's broom mount. Remove MNG and Brain of Confusion (dodging doesn't work anymore). In lieu of these accessories, your accessories should be pygmy necklace, papyrus scarab, necromantic scroll, sorcerer emblem, and hercules beetle. Wear Tiki armor, use kaleidoscope, and sanguine staff as weapons.

I managed to beat her on my 20th attempt!
I used the UFO and staff of discord for mobility
and the xeno staff for the summon.
Turns out you dont need fancy mobility options when you get used to her attacks. You would think it would be a downside but the UFO's slower movement allowed me to really learn how to weave through everything a lot more precisely.
After my 20th attempt she was a breeze afterward! Amazing gold farm selling Terraprisms.

I just get terraprisma myself today but I rely on kinda clunky dashing + unicorn mount to dodge the homing beam and a stardust dragon, after watching this video I surprised u can dodge it all within midair with fishron wings + soaring insignia which 2 accessories I already have, and u did it pre golem as well with sanguine, I wish I've seen this video first but maybe will try this method next time and I definitely want to say u a great player and have been so much help in my summoner playthrough, thanks a lot for all these videos u made!
I recommend having necromantic scroll instead of summoner emblem(better in every way when you think about it)
I was practising for two days with my friend. We managed to beat it during night... Today i decided to give it a try during a day just for lulz, didn't expect much, tbh. And ya know what?? I shredded her first time w/o hollow armor, ninja gear and brain of confusion! True no hit, omg im so proud of myself...
I did a melee playthrough and allowed for use of summoning as well as just a aid. I destroyed the empress during the day with the Zenith. It was my second time I fought her and the first attempt for the day time fight.
