Fantastic reaction! This is a very well made fan video. Personally I would say this version is better then the version Queen released in 2014. There is actually an original version, where Michael and Freddie sang the song together in Michael Jackson's home studio, Freddie Mercury played the piano and they just sang. Search on youtube for *Michael Jackson&Freddie Mercury - There Must Be More To Life Than This (Original Vocal Mix)*. In this fan made version that you have just watched they have removed some of Freddie Mercury's parts. They also made Michael Jacksons voice louder, and they made Freddie's voice lower in the mix. Which is fine, Freddie Mercury had a very overpowering, loud and big voice, so I do understand the choice, but it is still interesting to listen to the original where Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson really sang the song together. This song was written by Freddie, they also sang State Of Shock together (which can also be found on youtube) that Michael wrote.
I do like Michael Jacksons voice on this song, his vocal performance on this song reminds me of his song Little Susie. It is nice to just hear Michael Jackson sing without all of the extra bells and whistles. Little Susie is one of my favourite Michael Jackson songs.
It could be tricky to do a live duet with Freddie Mercury, he could often just overpower other singers. another example of this the very last song and live performance Freddie Mercury ever did in 1988. It was a duet with fellow British singer Cliff Richards, but Freddie's voice overpowers his voice. (Cliff Richards was one of the first singers who did rock 'n roll in Britain, but he and his band were never big in America).
Check out, Freddie Mercury & Cliff Richard - It's In Everyone Of Us - Soundboard audio.
Queen actually asked for permission from the Michael Jackson estate to complete and release There Must Be More To Live Then This, but personally I really don't like the version that Queen released.
THANK YOU for that awesome information, I will be looking up those recordings!
....and I AGREE about how nice it is to hear Michael just singing a "simple" song. "She's Out Of My Life" is one of my favorite songs.
@@marciebulsaraorcutt She's Out Of My Life is a good one as well!
Freddie put the song, his version on his solo album, because they didn't have enough time to finish the duet since both were touring a lot without a chance to come together again. Another song I think called Victory was released by MJ on his album where Freddie was repleaced by another rock legend, Mick Jagger.
That song was "State Of Shock". The demo with MJ & Freddie is available here on YT, and it's AWESOME.
@@marciebulsaraorcutt Thanks Marcella, I wasn't sure in it at all.
Hey my friend. There is another song that FREDDIE and MICHAEL collaborated on too its called STATE OF SHOCK. Also the song VICTORY too was done by the 2 of them but FREDDIE didnt finish it MICK JAGGER did. Thank you so much for doing QUEEN videos. Take care. Your friend, QUEEN BEE.
State of Shock was the song that ended up with Mick Jagger because Freddie couldn't get to the studio and Michael wanted it on the Victory Album. Victory is out there in the Jackson archives but never heard because the Jackson estate kept it.
Thankyou dear, love this song!! Not many reactors checked this One out. Much bless and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!!
There's someone in the comments that usually goes into details about this , I hope they see and fill you in, basically they were planning on collaborating but always doing shows in different countries they were just never able to get it done, God rest their Souls, yes its beauty and 😊
GREAT REACTION!💕
Now you'll need to react to the demo of "State Of Shock" by Michael & Freddie; it's here on YT... YOU. WILL. LOVE. IT.
No idea why it says featuring Freddie Mercury as they wrote it together. Michael was a great fan of Queen, and it was Michael who said to Queen they should release Another Bites The Dust as a single. Michael used to attend Queen concerts The HotSpace Tour. Apparantly Michael's next album was influenced by Queen at this time.
State of Shock was the song that ended up with Mick Jagger because Freddie couldn't get to the studio and Michael wanted it on the Victory Album. So Michael asked Freddie if it was OK if Mick Jagger did it instead. Victory is out there in the Jackson archives but never heard because the Jackson estate kept it.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS COMMENT ALWAY GOOD INFO
Hat off to you, Finally, someone playing this , God Bless,,,love it🙏❤

mercury best
Thanks for reacting to this! Of course it would have been ideal if they'd had a chance to put together a real recording together, but since life didn't allow that to happen, this is what we have and let's enjoy it for what it is.
I totally agree!
pretty song. I think Queen has an actual copy of this song in their vault. This is an actual recording, I am not sure about the video. Freddie and Michael wrote and recorded a few songs together but I don't don't think they were ever released while both were alive. I know it took a long time for Queen to get copies of those songs what with all the probate and such on Michael's side of things and people trying to figure out who should get what. But since Freddie left his entire catalog of music to Queen, they had reason to be at least co-owners of the recordings. I think it would have been so nice to release this song shortly after Michael's passing in tribute to both he and Freddie and the friendship they shared.
Well said!
Nice ! Two great artists thx
They are!
I don’t care for
Michael’s voice on this song or his version of this song. IMO Freddie’s version is so much better. I believe it’s on his Mr. Bad Guy album.
They were supposed to record this as a duet but had issues getting together and/or being in the studio together.
