It pisses me off when they say Morrison is no longer in government so move on. The opposition is part of government. They aren't in power but he is still an MP.
It's been sad to see the demise of Waleed. I used to take interest in his perspectives. He's a useful case study of how people in his industry are corrupted by the power structures they work within.
Jordie is too Labor partisan to be considered the closest thing we have to journalistic integrity, he always ignore Labor corruption and regularly criticises The LNP for the same thing Labor do too. I still like alot of what he says but he's completly biased.

I'd just like to mention that the majority of the people of Jonestown were not convinced to 'drink the Koolaid', but we're systematically manipulated and coerced into their actions. It's a devastating and fascinating case and if you like podcasts I highly recommend Casefile's deep dive.
@@aprilbl00m If my memory serves me right, a congressman with a small entourage went to Guyana to investigate and some were shot dead at an airstrip. This triggered Jones into calling the members to commit an act of 'revolutionary su###de'. I believe Jones had some incredibly indoctrinated members stand around him and the hall they assembled at and held up guns at the other members. But I don't believe anyone besides the 'outsiders' got shot. But the part that most people aren't aware of is that by this point the people were living in terrible conditions and mostly starving, and for months Jones had been randomly waking them up in the middle of the night with sirens and essentially causing sleep deprivation (now a common torture technique). He'd then wax poetically about how everyone was out to get them and that if they really loved him then they'd do whatever he asked without question. I first came across your hero's name in the byline of a book review in 2010. He was reviewing a book by a man who was under a gag order, he was not allowed to comment on anything, even reviews of his own book, and was also barred from profiting from sale of his book. Because the USA had ordered what's left of Oz Govt to ensure this. Your hero started his review thus " All autobiographies are of neccessity self serving and this book is no exception... ' and on he goes. Have a free kick Walleed. The writer was David HICKS. The book was GUANTANAMO - my journey. It is not a bad book at all. Interesting, honest, definite attempt to record and understand what he had been through. I would recommend reading it all through rather than listening to two minutes of that smug little ***** , Mr Aly. I had thought he might well be head of the ABC by now, it must have been mere days after that review that he started popping up, but keep an eye on him lads.
Does Aly have a law background? Surely there maybe a detail that the Solicitor General doesn't know and didn't think to ask because it never occurred to him like 3 weeks ago it didn't occur to him that the former PM was super minister? Again Aly might know more but if I wanted to prevent things that are inconsistent with democracy I would want to know everything so I didn't leave a loophole for someone to slither through.
Comes down to the question,,,"Who is the worst? - The Fool who leads, or the fool who follows?" - Its up to the person to make that decision for themselves and if it leads them down a path of destruction? - its up to them,,,I`m not here to convince a person otherwise and I`m not about to start,,,make the decisions based on the information you get, and the more important you feel the subject matter is, the more information you get to make the best decision you can to better your position.

Reading "Atlas Shrugged" does not count as studying philosophy. 🤣
Literally had the exact same thought haha
No, it's an exercise in masturbation.
What do you expect from someone who went to Wesley?
Just because he has the gift of the gab doesn’t mean what they say is right or have any logic. It is amazing how journalists are not chosen to do this work. Bolte is another example. He may have been a cadet but that doesn’t really make him a journalist.
He doesn’t even have the gift of the gab. He just talks like he’s a pseudo intellectual who always thinks he’s superior to everyone he meets and literally no one listens to his shite
i lost it at the junkie mum
This sounds like all the arguments that were used to try to stifle the banking enquiry …
“Oh, they’re banks, they look after our money, they are all good chaps, from what we know about them, their is no reason for any trouble, what more could an enquiry tell us ?”
Followed a little while later by :
“Oh god, these banks really have been total self interested bastards, isn’t it great we had an enquiry or we would never have known …”
Are they holding his family ransom to write stuff like this? Because no real jurno would consider publishing this crazy talk.
You say that like Waleed is a real journo.
Well he’s not actually a Journalist! He’s an ex lawyer!! Make more sense now?
It pisses me off when they say Morrison is no longer in government so move on. The opposition is part of government. They aren't in power but he is still an MP.
It's been sad to see the demise of Waleed. I used to take interest in his perspectives. He's a useful case study of how people in his industry are corrupted by the power structures they work within.
Well said.
I think he’s more just another example of a douche doing what murdick dictates! Literally! 🤮
Sometimes i forget how good jordies' impression of albo is.
Round of applause for the Brutalist joke.
I love Jordie but always disappointed he's the closest thing we have to journalistic integrity.
Watch Michael West.
Jordie is too Labor partisan to be considered the closest thing we have to journalistic integrity, he always ignore Labor corruption and regularly criticises The LNP for the same thing Labor do too. I still like alot of what he says but he's completly biased.
@@raphaelkoch1573 Fight fire with fire.
@@reecerox2 As someone who doesn't like either major party I can't see someone who is clearly 100% biased as having journalistic integrity even if they do have some good critiques and viewpoints. Hyper partisan views are one of the major problems we have with out politics.
That's a bit of a stretch. A millennial shock jock at best.
I'd just like to mention that the majority of the people of Jonestown were not convinced to 'drink the Koolaid', but we're systematically manipulated and coerced into their actions. It's a devastating and fascinating case and if you like podcasts I highly recommend Casefile's deep dive.
I heard that those who refused to drink were gunned down. Is that right? (I really should google it myself but it's late and I'm tired lol)
He'd get them to randomly drink stuff and tell them after that it was poison. So much manipulation and coercion.
What ever happened to Gladys Berejiklian ICAC?
Still going.
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns It's gone very quiet.
The results were meant to be out by the end of February.
Also she has secured a nice little earner with OPTUS.
Waleed getting kickbacks from Voldemort?
“The jolly heart attack” totally cracked me up… keep them coming hahaha
The logic of Waleed is astounding. Effectively he is saying that a scandal centring on lack of transparency is not helped by any sort of transparency through an investigation.
Google Waleed Aly. The very first picture that comes up just summarises the whole thing
Ahhh that's actually a top hat 🎩 lol
Waleed is the gift that keeps on giving....
Love the Waleed article narration.
Anyone telling you not to dig into something probably has skeletons in their closet
Murder includes not stopping someone from grievous harm when knowing it will occur from a certain object so he would have to prove he didn’t know it would or at least defend that point
Waleed Aly and Joe Hildebrand really do get under my skin and live rent free in my head.
Don't they just? Joe fucking Hildebrand is a candidate for retrospective abortion in my opinion, the guy is a hard right fuck knuckle who tries to disguise himself as a moderate centrist.
They might not be paying *you*, but the cost to them certainly isn't free. They still have to wake up every morning to the horrible realisation that they're Waleed Aly and Joe Hildebrand and always will be; a fate much worse than death.
The UTS building gag had me in stitches
Or that one of the reasons We Voted for Labor to Hold Morriscum and the lnp held accountable!!! …. Is there any chance, we could have some actual Journalists in our Media?? 🤦♀️
Aly isn’t even a journalist. He’s a qualified engineer and a lawyer not a journalist.
Modern journalism is not a profession but a popularity contest.

Waleed is a sophist.
All those who worship entropy are! They abrigate accountability, that is what floats their boat.

Nothing wrong to turn Australia into a "Sultanate of Australia" 😂

"It's not technically illegal!"
Said by lots of people who shouldn't be in charge of anything more high-stakes than a Bake Sale
Nothing's illegal if you don't get caught i guess
I wouldn't even put them in charge of a bake sale, they'd skim the cash drawer and replace the flour in the muffins with cat litter or something.
They're not even fit to judge a wet t-shirt competition.

Under supreme leader Kim Scott Morrison it wouldn't be illegal for him, that's all you need to know
Now go to gulag
lol "Scott Morrison and the Secret Ministries" - You're an autocrat, Scotty!
I think Waleed's reached his use by date especially on The Project!
It's been years since I watched "The Project".
Is there anyone on the show who's any better, or will the show just get even worse?
More like the “use immediately after opening” variety of personality.
Coming from the man who "doesn't hold a hose"...he sure loves to hold a lot of ministries under his ever watchful gaze...

A while ago I started to wonder if Waleed was being blackmailed into his new pro-rightwing, pro-LNP perspective. What else could explain his total 180?
Has anyone asked Waleed about his prophet taking a 9 year old girl as his bride, and later flying to ‘heaven’ on a winged horse. Maybe such beliefs might put things into perspective. And then of course we have SLOWMO and his beliefs….
I wonder if ScoMo’s secret portfolio grab has anything to do with his belief in the Seven Mountains mandate where evangelicals take over every aspect of society to impose a theocratic state in prep for the “end of days” nonsense.
You'd think after Lisa Wilkinson's sub judice that the Project people would stop projecting.
