Glad to be of service. I make a point of cleaning the brew head (as shown on the video) every time I remove the tray. This does seem to keep the clogging problem under control. The other thing that needs frequent attention is the cappuccino frother. An interdental brush is good for the small holes in this.
well done , straight forward and informative - i also use an extra drip tray to catch any water or drops out of the spouts. saves the chrome from peeling and the trays from staining - you look after it and it will look after you
Not sure about what questions you had but you are welcome. Two other points: if you use the frother in the 12 o'clock position the drink is not hot enough and it will need a 15 second "kick" in a microwave. Also, the "clean machine" function will still leave you needing to do a manual clean as shown in the video as the machine is still filthy inside.
All Jura machines, in fact, every automatic machine cloggs up with pre ground first. Even my c5 does. The reason is the structure of the decaf coffee. It tends to stick together and thus can block the brew group. I used to make 4-5 cups with beans and 2 with decaf, but now I make 6 cups a day, but make the last two weaker with more milk.
The layout on your machine is different to mine . The part where your milk bottle is displayed is on the opposite side , and my machine is also a j9and I have a display screen (nothing like yours ) now confusion reigns .
Thank you for your complimentary comments. My machine count in now over 1000 coffees so I guess I'm getting used to it. Just a bit more advice; if you are planning on making a number of drinks at one time prepare first by filling, cleaning and emptying everything regardless of whether you are prompted to do so or not. This will stop you being interrupted by the machine's frequent demands in the middle of your party.
I think your question would be best directed at the manufacturer or a retailer, but as far as I know it doesn't turn on by itself. You can set it to power itself down after a period of non-use. However, since the machine can go from 'Off' to producing a cup of coffee in about 3 minutes is it important that it turns itself on?
Thanks for your comments. Your point is noted but I have not, as yet, missed the water tank with the contents of my (thoroughly washed out) milk container. I feel I am preserving the seal on the water tank by only removing it a few times a year for a good clean. Its location does make removal of the tank awkward.
i loved your detailed review, am not sure about using a milk container to fill water that way, the machine is only ipx1 type waterproof, so i ya overshoot, you'll damage a very expensive piece of equipment .
If you just rely on the drip tray built in to the machine you will be constantly emptying it and clearing up the splashes on your work top. Perhaps I should have used the work 'receptacle' as mentioned on pages 14 and 15 of the manual (and probably elsewhere). This is not provided with the machine but I think it is more essential than the milk container which is provided. The container I show in the video is ideal as it is non-abrasive, covers all the nozzles and would hold a litre of liquid. For the record it is the box in which a SCUBA mask I purchased was delivered.
Thank you! Best video I’ve found on how to use the machine- and only one that addresses the preground bean problem!

Thank you! Your video answered some questions I had about the Jura J9.

Does this machine have the ability to turn on/off by itself? Thanks.
I don't understand why you say it doesn't have a drip tray. isn't that it with the silver cover?
