The pervy sage who travels all over the great Nations and writes, his war orphan students from the Hidden Rain , the mistaken child of prophecy, and the initial days of the Akatsuki, when everything was still nothing but that's when it was the most beautiful - vulnerable, struggling , blossoming, desolately. I remember how I fitted it with my own life because when I watched this arc it was always raining too here in my city, and around the time I fell in love with this song and it got stuck in my head, my mother bought me a pair of green tennis shoes on a really rainy day. It was all that mattered. No big decisions. Just the poor selling book author and the three war orphans, this song and my green tennis shoes.
I remember watching these episodes while I was in junior high with my siblings. It's funny how the war and Nagato and master Jiraiya dying all correlated to dark times in me and my siblings lives but watching Naruto was always away for us to escape our reality. This would forever be dear to me.

A lot of people bash the naruto vs pain fight and I get why, but when you think about it its meant to encapsulate the feeling of rage and insanity as well as how Naruto lost his village, his master, his sensei and his childhood friend/love interest. I think it makes sense when you dont look at it of the perspective of "EvErYtHiNg HaS tO bE PeRfEcT"
When I saw this fight in the manga I had such a great satisfection for Naruto stepping up to be what we knew he could be.
