I think it’s an insane fact the Mike Dean worked with Mexican superstar Selena in the 80s as part of her band and would even help her mix some of her songs.
it's crazy to see how far mike dean has gone in the music industry. i remember him from back when he was working with scarface heavily in the 90's... his biggest hit for me will always be "smile" by scarface feat. tupac
@@joemomma6317 most definitely.... i went and looked up scarface albums after watching this... i forgot Mike Dean did "F**k Faces" too by Scarface.... so many hits!
Abel said he put his part of the album together in a week. It’s kind of like his clap back to all this AI stuff. I love that he’s getting to explore this side of his talent on a Mike Dean project!
Well it's interesting There's some absolute genius in there and then there's some wtf thrown in but it's expieremental and far from typical and or boring so I dig that Mike is a goat And Abel is always bringing fire His voice on A I with that Soul bit was wild and beautiful
i just get interstellar vibes throughout. i feel like some of those crazier songs need visuals for them to hit right. to have no vocals and just mindfucking synths drilling into your brain i cant deal with it
I said that a lot of this came from them just being stoned af messing around in the studio lol Some of the sounds on this is also why I want a collab between Abel and Carpenter Brut so bad.
Anyone notice the beat in Earth to Michael sounds like a slowed down version of the beat in Michael Jackson's 'The Way You Make Me Feel' at the beginning of that song? Since it's got Michael in the title of the track, I wonder if Mike Dean is paying homage to that song and Michael Jackson in general.
Sounds a lot like ALEPH by Gesaffelstein. Listen to it, it's a synth and industrial masterpiece. (and Abel already worked with Gesa for My Dear Melancholy. And Kanye did too for Yeezus and Donda, he is responsible for No church left behind and Jesus Lord)
Really hope Abel's new album replicates a similar sound to the first part of the album, ESPECIALLY Artificial Intelligence. Just sucks that this album kinda falls off majorly in the second half.
Rewind life is great sleep/study music. Rich texture and sound but disconnected (don't know if that's the right term) enough to not distract your mind with repetative pattern etc. Love it
Interesting to see how this one ages. Yes first listen isn't great but we'll see in 6 months. After some further singles and E.P it might make more sense
yo jon you gotta check out the new istasha album!!! such a wonderful fusion of trap and dance music, with a lot of really cool, dark sounds. i think you’d fw it!
I felt the same while i was listening on my own for the first time but hearing clips in this vid make me excited for a relisten. anyway a mike dean fanpage dm'd me and tried to convince me it was mike dean himself which was funny
I love your reaction videos! I would love to see you react to Sam Fender, he has plenty of good songs, he is a great songwriter. I recommend listening to his song "Seventeen Going Under"
They basically gave us a Weeknd EP within this Mike dean album
From what I read Mike Dean and Abel did this whole album in a week between Coachella Weeks 1 and 2. Just riffing in the studio every day
I need Abel’s next album to have this vibe because this gives me a vibe of if Trilogy was electronic if that makes anyyyy sense 😭😭😭
Imo the closest for now to that is after hours
Yeah right, I was getting kinda fed up with his 80's/funk songs
if trilogy and dawn fm met up together
@@Ha7nthere we go that’s a way better way of saying it 😂

@@joemomma6317 most definitely.... i went and looked up scarface albums after watching this... i forgot Mike Dean did "F**k Faces" too by Scarface.... so many hits!
I’d say he’s the best producer around now
If you liked this album I would recommend gessafelstein's aleph too another synth masterpiece

tears in the rain at the end of artificial intelligence 💚
I was extremely high on first listen. shit was insane. it sort of took me back to seeing him live. just wild
First half of the album was killer then second half was also a killer just a killer of the ears though
Rewind Life is just something else, that sax just does something to you
Music for the future is the exact kind of song that wound work perfect in Heat (1995) with Al Pacino cruising the streets at night

I love rewind life!!! It’s such a soothing vibe
Hope the next Weeknd album is called Afterlife.
This album remind me Oxygène by Jean michel jarre(1976).
If you like this type of music, i hope you will make a reaction one day.
We don’t deserve this much music from The Weeknd between Nothing Is Lost, to The Idol soundtrack, to his album coming out next year

Mate you are hilarious "maybe Abel was out the room and Mike squeezed that fucking nonsense onto the album!" Had me burst out laughing at work.
THEY TRIED TO TAKE MY SOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL
