Lore accurate Mostima
Personally I love Mostima a lot and her story sounds like she's someone op, but it's sad she's not that strong in game
Hopefully, she'll become stronger in the future
Imagine if Mostima got a module upgrade that buffed her Caster Aura talent to something like +1.0 SP/s.
If HG gives operators with personalized modules then it owuld be great like just making Ch'en's 1st talent's cooldown reduced to 2 or 2.5 seconds and that would be a simple but great buff for those who use her as a support for ops like Mudrock or BP.
Skadi (alongside Passenger) is getting a second module in CN apparently if some datamines are to be believed, so maybe it is infact a more personalized module. We have to wait and see.

I still like to use her to assassinate priority target. But I'd love to see her Guard form being hailed like how her actual lore is.
You gona love the pure contrast between the lore and the gameplay, with Mostima, Ch'en and Skadi being very strong in lore while ingame they become memes.

I think the strong/meme thing about Ch'en is that her sword is legendary but she's so much more meta with a watergun
Yii, I strongly feel like you combine all the great things about this seemingly simple TD game - the waifus, the memes and especially all the complex strats and math. Thanks for being a pillar of sorts for the community and new players!
The only use I see for Ch'en's talent is occasionally to get Thorns into god mode when his lane doesn't spawn enemies until much later (like the current anni)
I actually hope mostima and dusk get better modules. I think both suffer from very big cooldowns on their skills so a buff to that would be rlly good
Skadi has been buffed several times tho, including the existence of gladiia is a massive buff to skadi. Based on those video above now she can solo tallulah without even a single healer, you only need to put gladiia anywhere on the map and then she get around 200hp/sec of passive healing

with the introduction of x and y modules, as well as lvl 1-3 modules, I think mostima and ch’en still have chances to improve. Passenger is surely enjoying the now 4th buff to his kit and Skadi is also receiving this treatment

I wish Skadi’s mod gave her increased damage and/or true damage + phys dodge against enemies with high weight as a nod to her AH association.
They announced some extra modules on CN version, upgrade the upgrade you know, and Mostima got one :)
I only have Chen out of these 3. While I won't use them in battle, I brought Mostima's and Skadi's skin just bcus i love them.
Oddly I regularly use Chen a lot in my auto deploy teams. Her helidrop can be used to spawn kill to speed up runs a bit. Other than that, sometimes I slot her in when I need to charge up Thorns faster for whatever reason and god did she trivialize the Emperor's Blade in Walk in the Dust.

Skadi can't poke, she can't stop attacks, she can't defend herself, she can't block (more than 1 enemy), what can she do?

From the 3rd anniversary it seems that 6★ Ops will have 2 Modules and in the future Module will have Stage 1,2,3 (You can see Modules in global have STAGE 1 on it so I guess that explains stuff)

The main issue I have with Mostima aside from her weaknesses as an Operator is that despite her powerlevel in lore, she does not represent her power well in game at all.
Initial SP buff works, but that's the 2nd least interesting way to buff her imo (damage is least). It's acceptable as it probably would allow for her to be actually viable, but I'd prefer they instead rework her S2 or S3 to make them worth the SP.
Examples:
Module makes the CC aspect of her S2 global. This gives her a unique niche where she can CC targets in tiles where it's usually impossible to CC them. It also allows her to support multiple lanes and chokes at once, and can give certain lanes the small push they need to survive the wave. Keep the damage in the 3x3 though.
Module that allows her S3's small force push to ignore weight levels (so like a 'true' push, but the force is still level 0), which might lead to hilarious memes. It also ensures her S3 isn't just much worse against heavier enemies. This means that now Mostima's S3 actually can function more like an alternative to SA's S3, because unless I'm mistaken, the present reason why the 2 aren't comparable is that Mostima's S3 does too little damage and doesn't CC nearly enough against heavy enemies to justify the slower start-up. Making her push 'true' also makes sense in lore because presumably she's pushing not with physical force like FEater or Weedy, but with time.
Or, just buff damage by a lot I guess but that's boring, and probably also not enough.
Yeah, I'm of the opinion that if they were going to buff Mostima, they should buff her crowd-control ability, as that is pretty much her main niche, and why S2 is more common than S3 right now. The downtime on her skills also needs to be shorter as well.
I'm curious on your idea for buffing S3 however, how far would the "true" push be? Would it be the same push as a current S3 push on weight 1 enemy right now? What about bosses? Would they be immune to this true push?
@@fireboss3658 The point is that currently Mostima's S3 is push force 0, and if the final push force after subtracting enemy weight is less than or equal to -3, the push has no effect at all. Bosses and many tough enemies in general have > 3 weight, like Frostnova with 5, so Bosses in general just don't get pushed at all. And even in the case of lesser mobs, they all have at least 1 weight, so Mostima's push is -1 without weight reduction, which is barely anything (but not nothing).
My idea is to keep the force at 0, but enemy weight no longer affects how much Mostima pushes. This not only ensures her niche isn't destroyed because the enemies decide to put on weight (which doesn't make sense since Mostima is pushing enemies with time, not force like other operators), but also gives her another specific niche in being the only operator to have true push. Which would be fun.
So what your saying is: S3 push force = weight of enemy.

Mostima's module is on the right track just not enough yet.
I get the feeling when they made the module for Mostima, they got a bit scared that she'd be too good as she is now the cheapest aoE caster around and getting her SP buffed as well might have pushed her a bit too much. Or maybe they have other plans to do more with S3 who knows.
Quite suprised they even did the DP reduction to her, happily suprised.
Mostima Crowd-control queen will be a thing it's just a matter of.... time :)

Mostima's module could have increased her own regen higher than other caster operators (+0.6 for herself, +0.2 for others, for example) and that would have made her a lot more viable. Without uh, without breaking the game.

I hope skadi's new module would give her some sort of skill time extension. something like "killing enemies with the skill active adds X seconds to the skill duration"
What would be even better if she wants to compete with Surtur and Kalsit's Monster, give her True Damage + Range Extension. In the lore, Skadi is a fearsome bounty hunter + one of the most feared Abyssal Hunter due to how insanely strong she is and the fact that she has Seaborne blood in her (essentially making her somewhat immortal) but her gameplay doesn't convey that feeling.
I still use her along with her Skill 2 to this day, but I really wish she had True Damage + Range Extension or increased block count + area damage to give my account more diversity for helidrop strats instead of just using the usual Surtur + Aak + Skalter + Vampire Medic combo.
The Pallas event gave me that gameplay experience where once you used certain characters for stage A, they cannot be used for stage B. That is when diversity could come in handy.
Giving her S2 a double strike might step on Hellaold's toes. Giving it an self-centered AoE twirl effect would definitely step on Irene's S3, even those a twirl would follow Skadi's Seaborne lore just like Skalter's S2 already showcases.
In the Under Tide event, Skalter was shown to be agile. Giving Skadi a teleport effect would step on Chen and Guardmiya's toes. +90% dodge would be boring and similar to Flametail's Talent.
Where could you even go with such a 1 dimensional Op like Skadi?

So anyone who is longer with the game: What is HG stance on buffing heroes in this game ?
I found some older vids saying they dont buff at all, then some other less old where they claim they do buff but dont nerf... so yeah, umm anyone here knows which one it is ? Clearly the modules are hit and miss and while they help some heroes get more relevant they fall flat for others.
They "buff" but refuse to do anything that would actually be gamechanging it feels like more they only do that so people would stfu that they don't do anything than them actually wanting to make weaker units good.
I still use Skadi S2 whenever I go blind with levels as an emergency unit

eh, i use Mostima for her S2 (s3 never appealed to me) so ill be grabbing her module. the insanely long AOE stun has come in handy more than once and making her more convenient to deploy is a plus for that

As for Ch'en people sleep on her passive which is good with Blemi and Mudrock who one is among the most OP in the game and the other also slept on by many.
Mosti I still use but I would not complain if her skill costs were reduced by 20% and initial SP was really close to full. Mosti and Angelina are literally most of my magic damage though so I guess I am unorthodox in my useages.
Specter would be so busted if that's the case and the only thing stopping her would be drones

I would use skadi, but the game prevent me to use both skadi in the same team. I always use skadi alter, that the problem. I still use Chen as boss killer, so I think she is fine just need to recover skill points faster.
We're getting an update a few months from now that let's you use alters in the same team

Chen’s the only one of the 3 I still use. Her ability to deal all her damage in one big blow Instead of over time has mattered a few times (mostly crownslayer). I do wish her s3 had better starting charge though. She can’t really drop nuke bosses and has to just sit around being a brick for a while currently.

First time hearing that Ch'en is awful I like her guard form heck I can make Thorns skill activate faster thanks to her and make my farming faster thanks to her delete button.

@@ayanu8962 Arknights is a game that is really reliant on whether people know their operators well. Guard Ch'en may seem weaker than other alternatives (especially since, as Yii pointed out, the damage sometimes isn't enough to one shot enemies), but Guard Ch'en's talent really helps in a team oriented setting. I've noticed that same feature with Archetto: a team built around Guard Ch'en or Archetto is a team that hilariously blasts enemies left and right with much shorter downtimes.
If YOU find Guard Ch'en useful, that's great. I literally use Skadi frequently to 1v1 difficult enemies. Meta operators may perform better in general, but that doesn't mean non-Meta ops are literally useless (which seems to be how too many people interpret ops not being Meta)
