I haven't seen a comment to this effect, so I will make it. I'm an older man who grew up in Appalachia. For most of my life I have heard comments from folks from other places that are so negative about folks from the Hills. When I meet someone new and they then find out where I'm from, I can sometimes just see their expression change and I can see their opinion of me drop. Worse, I have seen the effect such attitudes can have on children from the rural hill country. I don't know if it was your intent, but for you to do this potentially changed the terrible perspectives that people have about Hill folk. If it showed even a few people that we and our children can be as smart and talented as people from anywhere else, it was an amazing and wonderful thing. Thank you SO much for doing this.
