You could have spoke abt the reliability of a 3 cylinder vs 4 cylinder engine too, also turbo chargers impact on 3 cylinder on long term ownership?
When the car moves uphill, 4 cylinder climbs easily, but 3 cylinder struggles and feels underpowered.
It's because the threshold power is different for a 3 cylinder ,inorder to climb u have to create power in 3 cylinder and u have to rel clutch after making it 1500-1800 rpm .so it il climb easily .otherwise there il be a power loss ,bcz minimum power is 900 in 4 cylinder and in 3 cylinder 700-750 so u il see the rpm coming down fast in 3 cylinder whereasin 4 it's.not
Not at all my Citroen c3 turbo manual is good in climbing ghats like a pro..!!
3 cyls are wholly based on your driving... Even we can get more mileage or less mileage for different kind of drivings

Why do you compare 4cylinder vs 3cylinder by keeping 4cylinder as a reference?
What i mean is that the inertial rotation(60°) which you mentioned.
If we go for V8 V10 engines there will be more number of power strokes within 720° rotation of the crankshaft, then in that case can we conclude by saying 4cylinder engines are less efficient.
In the second case there would be lag between the power strokes for a 4cylinder right?

1.what you're saying is if we reduce no of cylinders we can avoid consumption of fuel rite? But still they're compensating with displacement per cylinder, so fuel consumption will be same?
2. I have Ford Freestyle, 3 cylinder 1.2 liter engine without turbo charger so as you said all 3 cylinder engine create power with turbo charger how come my car is producing 95 hp power and 119 nm torque?

Useful information. Can you compare 1 l 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine vs 1.5 l 4 cylinder normal petrol engine? Which one is effective and best?
1.5 and 1.4 litre 4 cylinder is always better. Smooth engine and more power and sounds so good. 3 cylinder feels like tractor. Vibrates like anything sounds so bad. I own 1 litre 3 cylinder and it's garbage.
