- The Greater Kansas City Model Railroad Club actually is and operates two different railroads. First there is The Brush Creek & Western model HO layout inside the Kansas City Northern Railroad Maintenance Building. The second, is the G-16, 1/5 Scale Kansas City Northern Railroad, outside around the grounds. The inside HO layout is 28' x 48' and models a fictitious branch line connecting St. Louis, Kansas City, and Wichita in the 1950's through 1970's era. The model railroad was under construction when I visited and they are converting the layout to DCC.
The Kansas City Northern Railroad, is a 1/5 Scale 16-inch gauge that runs along a 1/2 mile route around the park area. This railroad is open every Saturday and Sunday to the public during the summer season. For more info check out their web sites:
