I really liked learning your tip about the color grading for the moist chocolate cake. Good to find out about the green slider needing to zero-out and the yellows to change to a bit more orange. I liked how you showed us you can use the color grader to pick any color- say red and find out how much of that color is in the photo and where. Plus the tip to use the overall color grade to lessen the green and yellow again throughout the whole photograph to bring out the rich appealing browns of the cake.
Great video - thanks a lot 😊 I'm actually having an account on IG which is all about chocolate and particularly making bonbons. I'm using a technique, known as "max shine" and it can be quite challenging to make the photos. Naturally, I wanna show how shiny they are but at the same time I'm having a lot of issues with light. Using a ringlight is a no-go as all of the LED-lights will be showing in the bonbons as well. I'd love to see how you'd solve this problem using artificial light. I don't always have a lot of natural light to work with 😉
I know how you feel! It can be challenging with light. There will be an element of using Photoshop to remove some of the reflections and shine but it all comes down to how you position the light. I'll definitely keep this in mind for future content. Thanks for sharing.
Great advice, Rachel. Thank you :)
I'm so glad you found it helpful. Which tip did you like the best?
