  • Kinomap is a great way to explore "riding" in other parts of the world on your indoor trainer. It's got some really cool features that I go over in this video.
    I've been looking into 4 Zwift alternatives and did an overview of them in this video:

    Parabéns pelo vídeo. Tenho usado o kinomap porém sinto que nas subidas e nas descidas o percurso não está sincronizado corretamente. Quando está pra chegar uma subida, as vezes o rolo pesa antes de chegar na subidae nas descidas da mesma maneira. Será que tem como resolver isso?

    Brilliant app and so easy to record and post your own favourite rides/ Strava segments. You can also get a family membership which is good value, it means my wife and I can ride separate trainers with our own ipads/ pc's on a course at the same time.

    Thanks Clint! I ordered my first trainer (wahoo core) so I need some app to play with. This looks great! I think I'll start with the fulgaz but this is also in top of my list. I just want to ride in different locations with real graphics. I usually ride my fatbike at outside and my road bike is just hanging on the wall. Finally, I can have some quality time in vr rides :-) Currently we have too much snow and my only option is to ride on the road with my fatty. It's not fun with the fatbike, so I can switch to vr.

    Hi Clint, I know this is a 4yr old video but I imagine your still somewhat active with Kinomap, so I thought Id ask if Kinomap has any mtb trails. Not really the bike park type, but just scenic forest single tracks etc. Also, could you recommend a few other options for indoor cycling apps that will connect with power pedals and show HD video of ride, preferably with some mtb trails.
    Thanks alot! Your videos are great. Ive been cycling for sometime but this is my first foray into the indoor cycling world, believe it or not. I didnt jump on during COVID, surprisingly. Your videos are always very helpful!

      Hey there, I’m actually taking a break from indoor riding. I sold my trainer over the summer. Fortunately I live in an area where I can ride most of the year. So I actually don’t know the answer to your question. I kept going back to Zwift when I was using my indoor trainer. I just like that it was somewhat competitive, even when I was just out on a ride, so to speak. But Kinomap was definitely a great option and I’ll probably try it again if I get back into indoor training, which actually is best during the summertime here

    • @Whoadayson

      @@ClintGibbs I understand. The COVID era was a different time for indoor cycling, it answered a call for it. Theres no magical way of bringing the enjoyment of outdoors to any indoor activity, not even VR (well until the neural implants come online lol). Im just seeing alot of inferences that this winter, here in MI, is going to be harsh, so I thought I try it. Im going to go for Kinomap first, but once I want to start doing competing, I know Swift will be next. Thanks for the quick reply. Im glad your able to get outside year around. Thats the best option!

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  8 місяців тому +2

      Honestly any bike will work as long as you have the right cassette on the trainer. There are some trainers now from wahoo that have a swift cog that’s just one gear and has an ability to shift it. Haven’t tried it but looks pretty cool.

      @@ClintGibbs that’s good to know then. I found a bike, Labgrey. It’s meant to be to be a decent one for a budget price so I’m going to go with the upgraded version of that and apparently it has access to this type of thing so happy days.

    Is there any music or sounds in kinomap? 😊

    • @MOVIE_1000
      @MOVIE_1000 Рік тому +2

      The videos are muted, but you can choose unmute before starting a route. I havent tried it myself, since i watch tv while i ride. But i would guess, it would only makes sense to have audio on, if you play the video, and not choosing "challenge" were the video plays to the speed, you ride. So i guess the audio would sound lagging if your slow or weird speeded up, when your fast. Most videoes ive tried so far, i can imagine there is alot of annoying noises "Breathing, bike sounds, gravel sounds or wind".
      I dont think there is music on the app.

    • @ClintGibbs

      I think you can if you get a Bluetooth speed and cadence sensor for your bike. I've only used a smart trainer so I don't have experience doing that but I know a lot of people do that with Zwift.

    How is the accuracy of the resistance in Kinnomap? I’m on Rouvy right now, but a common complaint is that the resistance is too hard at their 100% reality setting. I believe it’s wrong too, but the company insists it’s correct. Looking for an app where the resistance isn’t so hard you can’t turn the pedals at a 10% gradient. Curious if Kinomap is more realistic?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  4 роки тому +1

      I find on most apps you need to tone down the resistance. It's hard to say exactly how accurate it is, but I don't remember it being way off.

    • @MaryDeanDotCom
      @MaryDeanDotCom 4 роки тому +2

      I assume you have calibrated your trainer, and also you keep the air pressure exactly at the recommended level. Something I like about Kinomap is how you can modify the "difficulty" level as you go. In Rouvy, it's a setting in the menus, but in Kinomap, it's right on the screen so you can reduce the difficulty to get over a hump, then put it back to 100%, without any pause.

    • @MrRzapitt
      @MrRzapitt 2 роки тому

      You can change the reality settings in Rouvy to go below 100%

      Hey! I'm about to get a Sunny non-smart spin bike. I've already got my Wahoo cadence and speed sensor. I'm going to McGyver them up as per the DIY hacks here from youtube and find an app that has open road video (I don't think I would enjoy Zwift as much, because I won't have accurate readings). Does the heartrate monitor directly relate to onscreen readings? There's so much information to account for. I've seen about 4 videos from people who have done what I'm going to do, but haven't heard if the various apps actually sync up or if it's only Zwift that works (albiet not accurately). I'm going to check out Fulgaz right now....

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  4 роки тому

      @@sweeperbart Yes, you should be able to see your heart rate data on the screen. Some heart rate monitors are only ant plus but some do both Bluetooth and ant+. The wahoo ticker is the one I got because it's also Bluetooth. So obviously if you're using a phone or iPad you want Bluetooth.

    • @sweeperbart

      @@ClintGibbs Thanks Clint. I'll be using my Windows PC I think. It has Bluetooth capabilities. I saw one guy suggest to buy a 6ft Bluetooth dongle for PC, because the BT antenna for the PC might not be as consistent? I would use my phone as a receiver, but the big screen that I'm going to be looking at is an extra computer monitor screen that I had and not a smart screen that allows webcasting to it, so it needs a direct cable to it. I'm kinda wondering now if I should have paid a bit more for the Echelon Smart Connect bike. I would have canceled my Sunny bike and ordered that yesterday, but the Echelon bike was sold out both at Walmart and Amazon. Covid got erybody spinning! 🙃. Whatever happens I'll find a way to enjoy my cardio workouts!
