God raised up Constantine, moved the Capital snd established Roman Authority in its proper form, freeing Christians all over the Empire, and Constantine , and his mother Helen were also Christians. Daniel is not speaking of Rome destroying the believers in Christ. Really? In view of Constantine it would be impossible to prove. Also , Jesus foretold of the destruction of Jerusalem, and He told the Jews that if they refused to believe that he was the “I Am” in John 8, God the Son, then they would die in their sins . That’s what happened in 70 AD when Titus besieged Jerusalem. But the occasion was the rebellion of the Jews against the Authority that God put them under. They killed the Roman garrison at Jerusalem. So Vespasian sent Titus. The Jews, Herod, and not Rome were the murderers of the Messiah. It may have been by the hand of the Roman’s , weaponizing their power against Jesus. But they were not responsible. If not, then how could Jesus say from the cross,”Father forgive them, for they know not what they do “. The Jews knew what they did, but the Roman’s did not, and did not find any fault with Jesus. That was a true statement , because after he was crucified a Roman soldier said , truly this was God’s Son. If they were forgiven , then how could Daniel impute the opposite ??
