MJ shines the most when he gets a part which doesn't show a lot of moves, so he usually gets the bridge or the second chorus. i personally think they've got their best part for each members ever since "baby" era. i hope rocky would get a solo, or maybe a duo with another member just like bin and sanha. he deserves to shine with such talents.

Actually, the truth is he didn't got trained as a vocalist by fantagio, he was self trained, and that too before debuting and training of astro...
He was really into musical theater, and he wanted to make it his career choice, but his parent convinced him to be an idol, his parents have always been supportive, he knew this fact and worked really hard!!(his parents were so supportive that his mom and brother came to seoul to stay with him and his dad remained in jinju to look after his work)
