I removed and installed the crankcase ventilation valve, approaching from the left side, without removing the intake manifold. But for this you need a key of the minimum width so that it fits between the body and three torx25 bolts. The rest is a matter of technique, the entire operation is performed with the left hand.
This helped me a lot just replaced my oil separator. But you don't need to unscrew bottom plastic peace you can reach the second intake manifold screw from top if you squeeze your hand a bit. Took me about 2 hours to replace it while watching this video.
Thanks for this video!! For a E46 Touring it is possible to unscrew both the bottom bolts of the intake manifold from the top of the car fairly easy. Buy a female (with a hole which fits the bit directly without an extra adapter) 85mm long 72 teeth wrench. For the bolt closest to the dashboard remove the oil dipstick (bolt and pull it gently up towards you), electrical plug next to it, including rubber block attached to motorroom, remove bended cover panel right hand corner next to the suspension arch. It is possible to squeeze your hand in and turn the bolt slowly with a 85 mm wrench. Make sure to have 72 teeth otherwise it is impossible to turn the bolt with a minimal amount of turn. To reassemble the bolts. You can ask another person to push gently against the bolt closest to the dashboard to keep it in place. Do this from the bottom with a extended wrench, or somehting similar. Guide your fellow worker towards the bolt, and this will help to keep it in place. You don't need to hitch up the car for doing this. Once I got the mini wrench it was all fairly simple to do, it just needs some patience.
This video was very helpful. I see that you have LPG on your car, what brand is it and does it make any problems with engine's ECU? I have E91 with N46B20 engine and LPG Zavoli ecu, Atiker reducer and LPG tech injector. Sometimes engine has rough idle until switches to LPG, and when the engine reaches normal running temperature on LPG it runs around 950-1000 rpm. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Great video Need help what symtoms did you have on your car I got a e91 same engine i get blue smoke after idle but nothing else no codes but i have noticed idle is fluctuating Got told could be valve stem seals but was wondering if this could cause the same problem also there is no loss off power Cheers
Its valve stem seal issue. N46 is notorious. I had the same issue, replace the seals with erling seals and no more blue smoke. Don't bother with those oil additive. It doesn't work.

I had oil leaks from under the valve gasket. I'm not 100% sure that it was a reason but I had +200k mileage on the meter so I decided to change it.
