- In this episode I head out to Venice, Louisiana and fish with Team Finnikki aboard their 47' Freeman. Joe VT is out there as well and we have a blast on day 1. We get into a good bite of cobia and a bunch of other fish. We finish off the video cooking up some cobia with an unusual recipe!

MY GOD ? This brings back 😄 some HAPPY memories. Back in the 1970s I worked on platform 125a shell rig. The south marsh island platform was about 75 miles from Venice la. The RED snapper we caught were awesome some over 40lb.

I had a 62 pound cobia beat me to death in a 117 foot boat. He was trying to leap out of the boat and i had to jump on him with a floatable life jacket to keep from being gouged by his spikes, i had to use a wrench to calm him down,

@@StanzFam Yeah her was my friernd ex linbackerr fort SOUTH CAROLINA brook him off. and. my brother caught him. with harry's. hook still in his mouth. Bigger ones. over 100. pounds. in the panhandle and a guy surf fishing on the outer banks got. one. over. 90. He. thought it was a shark. Yes they will beat you up with those spikes.
Those are monsters! And yes the spikes are dangerous for sure

THERE IS NOTHING FISHING WISE!, i prefer than fish the Gulf for Cobia etc!!! im in Arkansas, but family and BEST friend down south. i cant watch enough! been too long for many bad reasons, but GOOD DAY YALL HAD!

Nice 160# ahi. Looks like a lot of fun over there. So much ahi coming up in Kona, fish market will only take 5 under 50# per boat. Luckily, we got a 60, 70 & 80#er. Actually jaws got 10lbs of the 60, but I got a gallon ziploc bag of shark leftovers.Tight lines

Great fishing trip! I have to best luck with Cobia by steaking it.That makes them easy to cook on the grill. Finding to separation in the back bone and cut through the cartilage that gives you a perfect steak.

while I watch most videos to come out from both StanzFam and Joe VT Fishing, what makes this one really cool for me, Lenny who was on this trip is one of my fishing buddies. No I do not get to fish the Freeeman with him and his other fishing buddies, but I do get to go out on his 31 Contender. Great video guys.

Fishing in the gulf is awesome, we went to one of those oil rigs last summer and it was a blast. We got 16 sheepshead. It was a fun day, but in the ocean it’s a lot because it’s rough.

I absolutely love your show, truly amazing . Every time you gaff a fish it’s really well done. When you take care and patience to fillet a fish and not do a butchers job. Fair winds and tight lines.
