Great looking video. Everyone will have a different perspective on how to film a particular road and it always great to get different views from all of you. Thanks to all of you for filming.
I Think all of you guys are great at what you do and give great details about the roads & area you are in. I wouldn't let a stupid uncalled for comment get to you, Your fans knows what a great job all you do. keep it up because it's very entertaining and inspiring for all us including those who love traveling.
This is awesome work, man. I really feel like I was driving, while watching this. I think that, in time, these lanes *will* end up being utilized quite frequently, but it'll be a very gradual increase over time. I would imagine that the new lanes have helped to smooth out traffic flow in the regular lanes. On a side note, thanks to the visual distraction this video gave me, I was able to take a huge dump *and* be entertained for 5+ minutes.
It sounds like an easy task. Add a few extra lanes to a road. But when you look at that, the amount of thought and planning that goes into something like that is staggering. Good job
Excellent work as usual/ Although not the main feature of the video I especially liked the first 80 seconds showing great footage of the Springfield Interchange from lanes and ramps I've never driven. 5*!!!!!!!
I used them in 2018 (Springfield Interchange to VA 7) during the AM rush. (Medical appointments - not work) Since there were three of us, and we had an EZ Pass transponder set to Flex mode, the cost was zero. In short, an aggro saver (the inner loop in the AM in this direction is a mess) and a money-saver (no tolls due to three people in the vehicle). The first time we used them, we got pulled over by a State Trooper - because he could not see person number three in our 2016 Quattro A6 - me. Not the trooper's fault - he's doing his job. Once he spotted me, which I confirmed by waving hello - real person here, not a mannekin; yes, that's been tried - he went back to his marked vehicle and let us be on our way. There is another reason to get an EZ Pass if you are a Maryland resident - the transponder fee is gone. (As in "p-o-o-f".) Starting 1 July 2018, Maryland waived the EZ Pass transponder fees for state residents. I'm posting this in January 2020; the transponder fee is still gone. (Thanks muchly, Gov. Hogan!)
I like the way you lane change... I realize you said it was sped up but I've been know to travel at these speeds... Is there a program for embedding the highway markers in your video? I love the music! I love it!
I-495 North is actually faster of to getting to Baltimore than I-95 North/I-495 East, because going through I-495 North is actually going North. It's always faster going North then East rather than East then North.
So Tysons corner is a important city so since Tyson’s corner is the most important city in the central area there’s traffic at the i 66 exit and the va 193 exit the express lanes comes to a different change the express lanes are for quicker travel and the other is for local traffic.
Cosmo Photography, You need to do some of those mountain highways in West Virginia that have no guardrail and the local pickups and SUVs cruise at 70 to 90 mph (those same fellas from West VA freeze up on the Capital Beltway). Or the Stae highways in the Sierra Nevadas or Rocky Mountains. When I was 20 yrs old or so I would cruise from Bethesda to Fels Point in under a half hour (of course not in peak hours when it was typically half a day). I cannot believe the right of way State highways and Interstates have in Dallas (even Houston). We could work miracles in the DC area with those wide, wide swaths of lnad
Please help me understand something, some years back before the introduction of the ezpass flex when people carpool they can drive on the hov lane, now with the ezpass flex can just one person alone drive on the hov lane with the ezpass flex transponder switched to hov-on.
You can drive alone but the switch has to be hov off , if you travel with hov on and you don't have 3+ in the vehicle you'll get pulled over by a state trooper and that is a $1000 fine
This whole express lanes thing has gotten off to a rocky start. The traffic count is not what they were expecting and they lost quite a bit of money on it in the first month it was open. Very nice job with the video though.
Yes I was waiting for more of your videos they're awesome and very Knowledgeable. Can you put the Palm Beach Worth Ave on Mobile plz. One of Palm Beach best Videos EVER.
First of all, no one owns a copyright on which public roads can and can't be filmed. Second, Jmvfrva and I are part of an ever growing amount of road filmers. I don't know him personally, but we regularly view one another's videos. All of us share ideas and collaborate on future projects, and this is a stretch of road that I had been wanting to film since it opened. So no, I didn't "steal this" from Jmvfrva. We each have our own unique styles and different viewing audiences.
He did not steal anything from me. He included lots of information that I did not have in mine. We're a group of road enthusiasts that film roads that interest us and each of us has a different style of doing our videos. There's nothing wrong with having different viewpoints.
In Maryland, you can get the proper transponder (EZ-Pass Flex) at any EZ Pass Maryland Service Center (in person) or by mail (apply online at ezpassmd.com). If you apply online, it arrives by mail in five to ten business days/one to two weeks; you can also apply online, print your receipt, and pick up either same-day or next-day at the Service Center. UNfortunately, EZ Pass Flex is NOT available at retail EZ Pass MD locations - much more plentiful.
Kotsios94m - Well no...I was addressing the idiot who was trying to claim that CoamoPhotography didn't film this. The ppl who make these films work very hard on them, and they have to deal with idiots trying to tell them how to do these videos. It would be different if it was actual constructive criticism, but when people say stupid things just to be annoying when it's obvious these are good, high-quality vids gets quite tiresome and annoying

That was one slick, smooth ride you gave us Evan. You're one of the select few road geek masters!

Nice to see this area again, I lived in NoVA for some time. Now I am in Tampa, FL
every time I drive in the HOT lanes, I see a truck being ticketed.
I used them in 2018 (Springfield Interchange to VA 7) during the AM rush. Excellent video Evan.
This is exactly how express lanes should be designed. Who wants to pay toll and get stuck behind some slowpoke? 2+ express lanes are the way to go.
Great video -- how did I miss this one? Excellent work.
Hey man, nice job on the video. Good music and informative information. I enjoyed watching it.

love this series. keep it up

Are there Express Lanes that allow other drivers from other lanes to cross over?
I love everyone of your videos man! I gotta ask how do you make the highway signs that you put into the video?
Awesome video, friend! 2nd time watching and commenting on this. Hopefully you'll come back onto the scene, sometime in 2017.

Nice video!
Nice roads and video. :D
these lanes remind me of the ones on I-15 in San Diego
The speed limit is 65 on the Express Lanes compared to 55 on I-495.
Can you make video on I-66?
Not a fair statement at all, they are completely different videos.
On I-95 in HOV lanes the exit to I-95 north and I-495 east and I-495 north
Yeah, recently on the mixing bowl, they added express lane entrances and exits.
The video is sped up to 350x in certain sections...
Yeah we don't need them clogging up the HOT lanes.
freewayjim make a video of I-4 west in FL mile 132 to mile 66
That truck was illegally driving in the HOT lanes lol
you should drive around the university of virginia
do one for tampa florida
LOL if only I had a dollar for every time I had to address a comment like that :)
Gee Brent, thanks for sharing!!!!!! :\ LMAO
lol, I had to go read my old comment to see what you were talking about.
Owned. Lol.
