I like Jinkx, and I want to like this podcast. I like Futurama, and I appreciate the commentary on it. I gotta say though, the annoyed comments between Nick and Jinkx really take me out of it. Sometimes it legit sounds like y'all hate eachother. Some of it's funny, but some of it's pretty cringy. Especially when it's the intro to the episode. It was way worse in earlier episodes, but it still stops me from being able to finish these. I know y'all didn't ask for my criticism, but hey, it's the internet. And who knows, maybe something I say will resonate somehow. I'm sure the world will keep turnin' either way, and Jinkx will carry on being fabulous.
it's their banter, they are friend soulmates, definitely nothing but love between them. I think it's hysterical, cause only people who have amazing chemistry can banter like that and not take it personal :)
I don't care for Nick at all. He gives off snobbish gay hipster vibes. He's too cool for everything & everyone. His comment about how he undresses across from the older mans apartment like he's doing some charity for him or something was awful & is a testament to his character. Also I just don't trust anyone who would voluntarily move from Portland to Los Angeles. He just doesn't come across as amiable at all.
I like it, but in order to like it A LOT, I wish the guests were more involved. Jynx and Nick's commentary is so back and forth (and often so niche with futurama) that it's hard for anyone to break in (other than Bob, or Meatball). Perhaps tapering guests to those who had seen Futurama a lot (or just having Nick and Jynx alone tbh) would enhance it.
