The Qualla Boundary in North Carolina was not donated. The Cherokee Tribe purchased it through William Holland Thomas. Thomas held the deed for the Tribe until the Federal Government allowed them to remain.

Hello, I enjoyed listening to this, my mom always told me and my 2 sisters that her dad (Samuel Daymon Goins) born march 18, 1818 in Edmonson, KY, but I did dna test on me to see if I have any native in me, ancestry said 0 percent, then a friend told me natives dont need to use sites like ancestry its why they are not on ancestry....so I do not know what to do to find out....
Check the National Archives site and check for the combined Cherokee rolls to see if one of your ancestors had a number assigned to them. Goins is also prevalent amongst both the Tuscarora and the Lumbee tribes from NC. Hope this helps

I just stood on the spot daniel boone went into Kentucky from hillsborough NC. What i learned the Shawnee made boone run the gauntlet and they didn’t honor that, black fish still sells him out for guns, boone escaped and beat black fish in the Battle of Boonesborough, with 444 native Americans and 12 British verse 40 militia frontiers men. The Shawnee God's gave black fish a slap for not following tradition

This sweet well very well meaning, lady, has done some Research, and I’m sure for her it’s been a tremendous, work, and it’s Very commendable, we can not thank her enough.
However, her speaking grammar is not, polished enough, to go truly viral, she says “ ah” as reading a coma, and “You know “ as to be assumed, “ do you , understand?” Or “understand “ it’s repeated multiple times, too many. The report needs serious editing, bc it’s fine, for tolerable sociable conversation, not more than crude, passing, for educating, with acceptable respect, to the unfortunate fact, that the public, will and, do judge, and as important as this is, it will be received by many of those people, with tongue & cheek,as “ folk lore”or, legendary tails from the old folks, back home.
