    This is the second epise of the "How To Play Pool" series. If you have missed the first one about the proper stance in pool, check it here: ua-cam.com/video/5nLkLgtbkGM/v-deo.html
    What else should I also cover?

      Please break down every step of the game for us with a video like this! Next step: hitting the break! Details on the different break setups for 8 ball and 9 ball, what to do with a bad break, how to hit hard without messing up your aim, etc

    We just retired so I put a new table in our living room.
    Great tips for my wife and I. You are real smooth and watching a lefty on TV seems easier to follow.

    I’ve been working on keeping my arm at 90 degrees and my grip. I didn’t think about changing the position of my grip until this video . Thanks

      You over think, you'll never sink (balls consistently). Too much "90', relaxed butt grip...stop it.
      I work with an ex-Tour player 2x/month.
      After a while, we played $$ 9 ball; he wins, I pay $5, I win, he pays me $10...not now.
      We play straight up for $10 a game now, sometimes $20.
      Lesson:? I am self taught, 62, started playing April of 2023..that's right.
      I'm right there with a professional. Why? 2 golden rules: 1) Do what makes you most
      comfortable and confident at the table (bridge, tempo, etc) and 2) what gets results !
      Closed bridge for me, very long (12"-15") stroke with my bridge hand practically scraping (I tape up, no glove for me) the table. Comfortable, results and gets sarcastic comments, until they play me. Naturally, I put the time in daily and love it. Got to put in all the reps you can..and I am.Get to work, player.

    I treat the cue like a drum stick. My pinkie and ring push on the bottom up to keep it forward.

    Filmed myself the other day playing pool and realised i been holding my cue like shown at the 1.00 mark. Now im super subconscious of trying to correct this while playing pool. Im not sure if when i filmed it was due to tiredness or is a natural grip..? Im going to work on holding it with a straight wrist but my question is. If i can shoot straight with a "weird" twisted grip and feels comfortable then should i change it?

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  2 роки тому +1

      I am a fan of doing what works for you. You don't always need textbook technique to be able to shoot straight.
      Check what happens if you take it to the test, by shooting a really hard straight stop or draw shot. If you always miss (in the best case always to the same side), you have to fix something. You gotta find out if it's your wrist or something else though.
