So good to hear you had a good time with your daughter Steve, and managing to get in a good few stores as well. Having you show the wee videos brings them to life - like a proper holiday postcard. I've no idea why the Comsat Angels and The Sound passed me by back yonder, so it's good to have you recommend them. Thanks Steve, all the best, Ian
Hi Ian, glad you enjoyed......well you are not alone with those 2 bands, back in the day I was not privy to them either........and I just can not believe how many bands and musicians were trying to make it and get themselves known back then. One thing I think you would enjoy is to search old poster adverts and look up the warm up and backing bands. thanks as usual for stopping by and commenting.....more to come....cheers Steve
Yes, that's a very good idea as a way to research, I'd not thought of that - I think we tend to look back at where the bands that 'made it' started out. I don't know if you've heard of The Passions or The Higsons, but I covered them and some Postcard Records bands ('80 - '82) for a Mixtape competition thing recently. Oh, and I've still got the Joy Division flexi disc that came with the NME in 1980 :)
Thanks for the heartfelt update, really nice to hear how you view SoCal. Very evocative. Treasured times spent with your daughter too. Wow, I just notice the library behind you!! Explains your depth of knowledge... Ok, Cosmat angels sounds great, really liked the Steve Roach. And Bernie sounds like a real gem, I like how you dealt with his persistence! Thanks for the dig and restaurant footage... you're making me wonder why the hell i haven't gone visited a mate who lives in San Marcos. Can't wait for part 2, take care Steve. Cheers- Dean
Hey Dean, as you always great with your words, well said. Well I kept telling Bernie how good he was.....I have to call him and tell him to watch this. If you can , get to SoCal, it makes me wonder if AU Coast is similar. Yup, got more coming, cheers! Steve
A pleasure, for sure. Folk Arts was very cool, and I have to go back.....I missed soooo much. The Floyd was one he was checking in, and said, this will be gone by tomorrow, and I said let me see it.......and replied, No it won’t.....today it will. Got more....thanks steve
Steve...you made me hungry showing that socal Mexican food. That is one of the things I miss most about California. Looks like you had a good time and got a couple of cool albums. Looking forward to part 2.
Appreciate your appreciation! The food is just killer. Had sushi all you can eat one night, soooooo good. But had to get those tacos many of the days. Yea, these were good ones, and more to come.....thanks, steve
Thanks Cameron......glad you can appreciate it.....and looking forward to making the others. Lesson learned......not all stores are the same, so I love showing them and share the stories.
Fantastic video Steve! Just loved seeing the San Diego Stores and pics..... Looking forward to the other parts. Interesting about Bigger Bang. Loved all those albums you showed, and the stories. Just great work!
That Comsat angels sounded good. Great that you got a visit with your daughter , I can imagine what it feels like when your kids leave and I'm not looking forward to it. Funny you mention the palm trees because I was just thinking the exact same thing , they are like a symbol of relaxation and it works ! When See them it instantly soothes me and that tough to do. I love the southern cal , I also love the northern cal , it's all good. I'm not to into the stones after tattoo you but I would pick up any of the later albums if the price was right . Glad the trip was good , take care.
Comsat is a good sound.....like a few other post punk bands, I think they could have done better in studio sound that would have made them get more notice. Yea, she was a bit homesick, so we are glad I was able to get out there. It is real hard to let them spread their wings and watch them leave.....but As My wife and I remember easily, we did the same back when. You get use to it as long as “drama” does not get in the way. Glad you picked up on the palm trees. I think us NE folks have that appreciation. As you said, Cal is super cool and special, and so unique with so much going on. Every spot up and down that coast. Those 3 Stones were CD purchases by many folks, and the vinyl as we know was less in Qty made. But now, hearing them on vinyl will bring them back to life for me. My concern if I don’t get them now, those $150 prices will be going up, especially when those dreadful days come of losing those guys. There are some really good songs on these, but also some duds. Oh well. Thanks Bill, best, steve. Hope to see you soon......if you want to take a ride with me to WFMU the end of this month let me know.....it is so worth it.
Fifteen stores - wow. The record store that I go to back home, I talk to the owner and assistant all the time - but they are the exception... they love talking about music or anything, which MeanMrMayo captures perfectly in his record store videos there. My goodness that flexi is so cool. Nice Freddie Hubbard pickup.
Well.....only 8 of them I bought something.....but that is an impressive number for 6 Days. That group is surely an exception....but customer interaction is the model for stores to exist in my eyes. You gotta stand out to make people want you rather then the Internet. Yes, exactly why I had to buy that flexi.....I just recently found out about it....never knew.
Cool Stones Flexi. Bernie sounds like the what a record owner should be. The players on Sky Dive are insane. I'd spend an entire day in that second store. Wow. I like Chet Baker alot, if he is not singing. Can't wait for Part 2.
For sure, I just found out of the Flexi.......and it is funny to hear Mick with his adlib. I did not realize the players on Freddie's album until after I got it. Both stores would suit you fine. I wanted to go back to the Folk Arts store and look at that Blues section as I had to scram to meet my daughter. Check out that movie I mentioned about Chet.....great performing! thanks bro! steve
Thanks Ross, tell me about it.....my wife will do it for 6 months a year snowbirds......but now to figure out how to the $$ to buy a place. Getting an all day chance to shop for records just makes us geeks smile. My next video is an all day event..... cheers, steve
hey Steve, I'm so glad I stumbled onto this as I'm heading up to San Diego to see Dylan's show in a couple of months and will be spending alot of time in record stores...looks like Beatbox will be first on the list! Cheers mate, love your channel and Stones stuff, suerte
a real pleasure thank you. I hear the fans really are digging his show...enjoy it all! A great place to be in SD. I really love the West Coast stores to my area. Beat Box is small but real cool. The others are wroth it also. I hope I can get out there soon to see my daughter. thanks for all the support ,and glad you RnR! cheers
Cool stuff Steve, the Hubbard and the Sound ones I will definitely look into. Excellent Floyd comp, never seen that one before. The Taco place strongly reminded me of an amazing burrito joint I used to go when I stayed near The Mission in San Fran a few years ago. On that trip we did make some forays south and although we didn't get as far as San Diego we saw some pretty amazing coastline, and some even more amazing cliff-side residences! The second store you went to looked incredible, very strong on world music and blues by the looks of it. Cheers for now!
Hey James! Very pleased with these albums.....and the rest. I have made a few Bone Head buys recently, so I am getting picky. There are so many pluses Cal has, food, sun, scenery and record stores are fantastic. I did that coast run a few times, yes, breath taking. I need to go back to that 2nd store. I missed a lot. Cheers, steve
Glad you had great time. I've never seen the Freddie Hubbard out in the wild but Ill keep my eye out for it as it sounds awesome. I have that Pink Floyd album, its mostly from the Barrett era but there are some unusual tracks on it kind of a Bside feel to it. Looking forward to the future videos from Cali, that's alot of shops to get through! I would have been by myself too, not sure if anyone I know would have the patience for all that browsing! I only have 1 shop near me so I would have been in heaven. See you soon.
Hi Kurt, thank you!! That was my first time also.....but would not have taken it, thanks to Bernie. Yes, the PF is a B side, that is exactly what the fella told me at the store. At some point in the day, I did get burnt.....then I had a few time pressures so I could not relax. One shop......I feel very lucky.....at least there is online. cheers, steve
I think Michael you told me about Beat Box.....not sure....but yea, I would go back in a second, and then for fish tacos. He did play me some fun sounding albums.....but he even knew and said on several albums....."I just like 2 cuts from this album"....an he was right, and I did tell him I can not justify spending $xx just for that.....he understood.
Ahhhhhh haven’t been to So Cal since ahhhhh Lordy 88 or was it 90?? Wow to to long never the less......couldn’t agree more about the stores and hanging out and all....heck that’s what we did on the weekend afternoons in the late 60s......oh nice👌🏻Freddie is the deal!! Is Kenny Burrell on guitar?.....it kinda sounds like you had a dam sweet time there Steve ( yes I know why you were there) but still......nice Floyd pick up....now with mr Baker? You go man.........thank you Steve for getting some footage for us to see and looking forward to the next installment my friend! Be well- Lis
Hey Lis...It has been a long while for me also......but it felt like I belonged there. George Benson on guitar. Some cool albums to come about, as I made sure I did not go crazy on my first day, and had to budget. cheers :) Steve
You would like that 2nd one also.....I wished I dug more in there. Bernie played me the Leaves....lol. Chet is becoming my "go to". thanks Bo, got some more fun ones!!
Hi Steve, I just checked into a London hotel (here for work) after an arduous journey so this video will be a tonic. Looking forward to hearing about the trip.
I have been waiting for years for those late period Stones albums to be released on vinyl. There was a teaser last year, on the Stones site, that those were about to be released last fall. They weren't. I'm glad you were able to spend some good time with your daughter. Pasi
Hi Pasi, I am sure they will be done.....anything to make those few bucks by Mick. Most of us only heard the CD, so I am real curious to hearing those on vinyl. Voodoo and Bridges are $150+......and will only go up in price. So last year a teaser, hmmmm....wished they would move on that. thank you for your comments!!! that time with my daughter was fantastic.....how many 21 year olds want to hang out with their dad. cheers, steve
To be more precise, the Stones site said that for example No Security was oop, but would be availale again in the fall. I just assumed it would finally mean vinyl reissue. Whether it meant vinyl and/or cd reissue for some or all Stones albums, nothing happened.
Hello there Steve, Nice to see you first off. Second it was cool to see that you visited the one place that I would love to retire in and live out the rest of my life. Preferably La Jolla. Some of the best surf on the west coast next to Cowells in Santa Cruz. Nice to see A Bigger Bang. I bought it fortunately when it was released. I enjoyed it a lot more than I did Steel Wheels, Bridges, Voodoo or Undercover. Loved seeing Beat Box Records. Just seeing how the weather was out there made me want to move now and skip waiting for my retirement. Yeah, I am glad that you decided to grab Freddie Hubbard's 'Sky Dive'. Worth the 1200 pennies that you spent on it. El Cajon Blvd is a beautiful area of San Diego is it not? I enjoyed seeing Folk Arts. Man what a great trip. I don't get envious very easy when it comes to anyone in the VC doing or finding anything. But this video made me a bit envious I must admit. I enjoyed it to the max but I really wished that I could have been out there too. I could ask you a million questions but I will spare your typing fingers. Thanks for sharing this fantastic video~ Rob/Boston
Always great and special to see a classic Rob Paneeks comment! Well, would'nt it be sooo cool (warm) to both retire and geek out there together. La Jolla......oh yes!! My wife is still a New Englander, and my son would most likely stay here. But, my wife said she would be a San Diego snowbird 1/2 the year. So I am 1/2 way there. I forgot, and did not correlate you and SD until you reminded me now......well I am glad to light the fire back in you. lol, the seals were La Jolla's. It is just friggin paradise there. Very cool to pick up vinyl Bigger Bang back then, that was not even in my mind then. The one album is real good.....and I need to get Bridges & Voodoo and hear them on vinyl.....but that price, and these will be going up. I think Voodoo is my favorite of these 3. I listened to Freddie for 30 seconds when Bernie played it, and knew that was the vinyl to get. Outstanding! Lol, that entire area from El Cajon down to South Park is just fantastic. It was my first time in that area.....I was trying to explain it to my wife on the phone while I was driving around.....I could just hang out so easily. Most of my time in SD city was the record stores and Balboa park and Gas Light. Got more to come.....just think of it as inspiration and motivation!! cheers my bro.....Steve
Steve, So glad that you enjoyed your trip out here. I had a feeling you would slide right into it. Of the stuff you showed, The Comsat Angels surprised me. I remember hearing some of their later stuff (after they changed their name to "CS Angels") but it didn't grab me. The sample you played sounded much more like something I should check into. The Steve Roach sounded like a possibility too. I have to tell you about Lou's Records in Encinitas. It used to be two separate buildings full of music, one with used stuff and one with new things. The stock was amazing but the internet really hurt his business and he reduced everything to the one building you went to. I used to stop there on my way to or home from San Diego often but over the last couple of years, I haven't even bothered. You should have seen it in its heyday. Looking forward to the next installment of your SD adventures. Bob
Thanks.....I have been out there a few times, so I know what to expect, and more.....I wished Comsat had a better studio sound.....they would have been bigger. You must hear Steve Roach more if you have any interest. Very interesting about Lou’s, thanks for that insight. He seems more of a CD guy.....the albums were not the best selection, then again it is all timing. I would imagine how his store would have been a place to go, it was big just the one building. Great to hear tales of SD. Looking forward to my other showings.....maybe 2-4 more. Cheers steve
Wow man, glad you had a great trip! You sound like a great Dad! I totally get the "At your pace" bit... I can take hours or move real fast and it takes a special person to move with you like that. You also hit the nail on the head with the store owners around here in the tri-state... we should be a community in real life not just on the inter-webs... I get sometimes people are busy or have things going on, but places that we frequent, I want a relationship with these people... and it's just not there sometimes. I have one cool little place that's magic... and they are adding records by the minute!. I look forward to the rest of the trip vids... rock on brother... OH what did you mean about Voodoo Lounge... did you get one?
Thank you!! :) that makes me smile....it is great to be able to share experiences with my daughter now that she can appreciate me more. Even at shows it is tough to go with people......I tell everyone my timing parameters prior and what to expect....lol, bring a book if you want. As I read your comment about the Owners, I am glad to hear you comment about it, and get it! The success for BRICK AND MORTAR stores are the interactions and experience.....that is the model. I cringe on how these owners do not understand it. Glad you commented and are looking forward to more.....oh, Voodoo, Bridges and Bigger Bang are the more expensive Stones albums because of the limited runs......Bigger Band is cheaper of the 3.....the other 2 are $150+.......that is steep......but I will need to pull the trigger. These prices will go up! cheers, Steve
Hey Steve, I do remember The Comsat Angels, but never really heard them. I actually liked a Bigger Bang a lot and would love to have it on vinyl. Back Of My Hand is one of my favorite Stones Tracks. Pink Floyd's Masters album is the best early comp out there, another great find. I need some Chet in my collection as well. Looking forward to seeing more. Take care...
Hi Tim, yea, Cosmat Angels are one of those bands that were the warm ups for the bigger ones......but surely talented. The 3 Voodoo, Bridges and Bigger Bang are needed....I paid about $70 for BB, which is real good. The other 2, are pricey, but from the 90's.....I only think they will go up in price, so I have to make some decisions.....$150 is a lot. Yea, Back of my Hand, is one of the good bluesey ones. Chet is surely great, and his style if very cool....watch that movie I showed about him....best, steve
Fab San Diego video, Steve/FlipSideCT ! I really enjoyed it all and visiting the record stores especially Beat Box and Folk Arts Rare record shops. That Mexican food restaurant looked great and affordable. I got hungry just watching it ! That UK Rolling Stones Exile Flex-Disc is a real rarity and I'm surprised they never included it with their most recent reissue of 'EONMS.' Comsat Angels reminded me of a kinda sorta male version of Siouxsie & The Banshees musically not vocally. Fab guitars ! Steve Roach I am not really familiar with but I need to check out that 'Structures' album. Definitely Eno Ambient territory and I love that. Yep, you're right on 'Bigger Bang.' It's a good but not a great classic Stones album. Last classic album was 'Tattoo You.' I think I might've owned that 'Masters of Rock' Pink Floyd LP years ago and it is a really good collection. If you don't own it the recent PF '1965-67 Cambridge St/ation' available separately from the box set might be worth your time with the Syd Barrett rarities on it. Looking forward to your San Diego Part-2 video !
Hey Steve, thank you of course!! These shops were superb, now that I am not there, I miss them!! I will be back. I do see the flexi online, so not sure how rare it is....I think if more people knew about it, they would be bought up more. That would be a sweet addition to reissues. Yes, Cosmat has that echoey phase reverb guitar sound, and why I like them. You have to look into Steve Roach. If the Stones combined a double album of a few songs of those last 3, it would fantastic. Tattoo was a lot of left over early 70's they did not use. I love it. I am not much of a Syd B fan.....that is why I enjoyed this comp. got more vids to go, cheers, Steve
What’s up Steve, really cool video. My local record store has an original copy of Jeopardy, he wants $40 for it. I think that’s a little high but I might try and talk him down a bit. That Comsat Angels sounded excellent! I’m not familiar with them. I’ve spent more time in the Bay Area but I did visit So Cal once when I was 18yrs old. My father lives out in the Bay Area and the problem with California is the cost of living. Everything is so damn expensive! After 30yrs out there, my father is seriously thinking about coming back to New England. As always, great video 👍🏻 and take care bud.
Hey Erick, sorry for the delay here......well if it helps any, I paid $19 for the reissue of Jeopardy. Comsat is up your alley for sure.....I just wish they had better guidance in the studio. Oh yes, that cost of living is thru the roof there.......I would spend 6 months here and there if the plan goes perfect. Thanks for all...all my best, steve
The only time I saw the Stones live was for the Bigger Bang tour. It was a great show, but like you said, the newer songs were below average. Crazy energy on the guys though.
At least you saw it......75% is hits. That is why I prefer not seeing it especially for that price. Yea, energy, that is why Mick is the best front man.
New sub like the channel. I am also located in CT. Milford. Love Cali mostly been to northern California. San Fran, Napa valley, Sonoma, and silicon valley Sunnyvale . I always wanted to do southern California. Naybe next time. Nice finds and great channel cheers.
Hey Flash, welcome....and cool to be close by....I’m am just over in Fairfield Cnty. We have a few locals......hope to meet you at a show. Yes, the northern Cal is fantastic also, amazing scenery. I am just tired of the cold. Thanks for commenting, enjoy, more to come, steve
Steve; TONE here. ....as I mentioned before, Come to L.A.!!..... we’ll see who keeps up. Haha 😉 Glad you were able to experience the camaraderie in the record stores out here on the west coast. I would agree that you don’t get that on the east coast; most record store owners I’ve experienced on the east coast are afraid to leave the counter, or open their mouths to recommend stuff, or show you records. AND, I don’t know why you took that Steve Roach album home; it’s just gonna cost you more to send it to me than if you would have just met up with me in Cali and handed it to me... Oh, wait a minute, you didn’t get it in Cali. Ahh well, you can mail it to me. Haha :-) The owner of Beat Box sounds like a gem. And MANNNN, that Freddie Hubbard record is PHENOMENAL. Excellent buy. I’ve been to a ton of the shops in The greater San Diego area but not that one. There are also a few reallllllllly good shops in north San Diego county (about 45 min to an hour drive north). M-Theory records is a great shop! That Folk Arts Rare Records is a really cool shop. Been there too. We have a shop with a curated selection that’s similar here in Los Angeles called “As The Record Turns”. Lou’s in Encinitas normally has a great reputation. Yes, a lot of CDs I know BUT, I love CDs too so maybe it’s a different experience for me. A lot of rare hard to find imports on CD at Lou’s. Sorry you didn’t have a great experience there. Excellent video my friend. Glad you’re home safe. -TONE
Hey There Tone, thanks for the comment. I would love to hook up in LA. Yea, what a difference of personalities and approach from coast to coast. I am fed up with the “don’t care bout you” attitude. Just pure wankers, and they deserve what comes to the them. That Roach album just speaks wonders.....I have seen his UA-cam live videos and they are just great. This is the style I want to play. Yes, just impressed all around with the stores. It may have been timing at Lou’s, as I seriously came up with 0. Except for one album from Walter Lure. Thank you for all.....you will enjoy the other vids.....best, steve
There is always a “yea but”........that continuous habit of his surely mellowed him to the lowest point possible. Give a watch to Born to be Blue movie. But your answer is......next to Keith, possibly yes!
there are always albums I see that I passed up when I tape these stores or shows......oh well......Enfield is a bit away....but if you ever can go to Redscroll Records in Wallingford....worth the drive.
Known in the US as CS Angels - political problem with the name Comsat - I would suggest for you Time considered The BBC sessions - great stuff - may take a a little just a little to get into them but the material is really classic once your there
Give it a try - they did 3 Polydor albums all of which have gems disbanded and after reforming the last album they made was called The Glamour which is a Psych throw back - again well worth a listen
I have to start off by saying I really dig watching your videos. They're a lot of fun! We have a lot of the same tastes when it comes to progressive rock like Crimson and early Eno, Bowie, and the CBGB's scene like Television and Richard Hell & The Voidoids, and bebop , but i just have to say, (and please don't take this the wrong way, Maybe someone's said this before, and it's just the way you choose to pronounce it) I cringe every time you pronounce "Ambient." I believe it's pronounced with a harder "A," as in Ambrose(as in "Bierce"), not the softer "a" as in Alms(as in "for the poor"). The way you're pronouncing it refers more to something like mood lighting or a certain look, not the mood music created by Eno. As far as I know, and have grown up pronouncing it. Now I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. Just wanted to let you know, Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, again, I love the videos, and will of course continue to enjoy them as long as you put them up. Thanks Steve! Keep it up! Vinyl rocks!
Hey Jeff, thanks for the comments and watching....glad you enjoy it.....The 70's to me was the best decade. It does not bother me with you mentioning Ambient.....well you know the Tomato or Toe Mott Toe. Maybe this will shed some light.....in our store, which is about creativity..... I work with the lighting to create the proper ambience on products. Been saying it that way since late 70's.....I will probably never be able to change.....OR, then again I might catch myself in a video and say "Am" cheers, steve
Hi Micke.......you would not have anything to do with Mickes Serier CD & Vinyl would you? thank you. I was in Stockholm in 77'......but did not go vinyl searching. I actual. remember how cool the train station was.......you can pick an album and sit in a nice chair and listen with headphones. It was my first time hearing PF Umagumma. would love to see a store there....cheers steve
Micke I would pack up and visit tonight if I could. Anytime, .....it is good to know I have a guide. My dad passed away in 77’, my brother was in the peace corps in the South Pacific for 4 years....he came back for his burial....and my mom wanted both he and I to bond together, so she assisted with this Europe Eurail/youth hostel trip for 2 months for us. I was 16..... so no girl involved. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing part 1 of your trip. That Folk Arts store looked impressive. Nice pick up on the Pink Floyd. Looking forward to part 2.
A pleasure, for sure. Folk Arts was very cool, and I have to go back.....I missed soooo much. The Floyd was one he was checking in, and said, this will be gone by tomorrow, and I said let me see it.......and replied, No it won’t.....today it will. Got more....thanks steve
Looks like fun. Love going in old record shops. Can spend hours just looking
it is a blast, and I suck up every minute of fun I get to spend. It is a total geek thing us geeks can related to. not all can appreciate it. thanks
Yea, these were good ones, and more to come.....thanks, steve
great Photos, cool Clips of the record stores! Thumbs up! Trish
thanks Trish.....so glad you enjoyed it, makes me smile with thumbs up!! steve
Hi Steve, this is a fun way to tour the area's stores with you as our guide. I look forward to the next video.
Always a pleasure, and thanks for your kind comments. Glad you watched it, and yes, Bigger Bang is what is. cheers.
That Comsat angels sounded good. Great that you got a visit with your daughter , I can imagine what it feels like when your kids leave and I'm not looking forward to it.

Check out that movie I mentioned about Chet.....great performing! thanks bro! steve
Hey steve, does seem like nice place retire....and loads record shops too....paradise.....i love a all day or 2 dig as well...thx for sharing🙈🕪
The Cosmat Angels sound awesome, wow! Thanks for sharing your San Diego adventures! Peace. ~Hanna
Hi Hanna.....Cosmat is a cool band, and give The Sound a sampling also......you will like that. Appreciate your comments!! cheers Steve
Comsat Angels are bad ass - it’s cool to see you building your post punk collection with each video another gem! Take care Steve
I figured you were onto them.....yea, there is some cool ones coming ahead......and wonder if you know these...yup some gems. thanks Brandon!
Sounds like a great trip! Great finds and sounds like great stores.
TB
Thanks Tommy, yes, a great one!! Great stores for sure..... cheers Steve
Glad you stopped by Beat Box. I tend to be more of a psych acid rock (aging myself) guy myself so found more there.
First store was cool. That Leaves record is garage goodness. Sweet Chet Baker score. Can’t wait to see more footage Steve.
You would like that 2nd one also.....I wished I dug more in there. Bernie played me the Leaves....lol. Chet is becoming my "go to". thanks Bo, got some more fun ones!!
Looks like lots of fun Steve , Nice to hear you got some quality time along with some record shops. Thanks for sharing.
Dustin
Thanks Dustin.......my daughter is a rocker, so she did not mind going with me into 2 stores, so double bonus. a pleasure to share!!
Hi Steve, I just checked into a London hotel (here for work) after an arduous journey so this video will be a tonic. Looking forward to hearing about the trip.
lol, well at least you don't have to pay for that Hotel......enjoy that, and your adventures there.....one of my bucket lists. cheers. steve
Hello there Steve,
Nice to see you first off. Thanks for sharing this fantastic video~
Rob/Boston
Comsat Angels - BIG BIG BIG Fan this end bring it on - brilliant album
I knew I would hit home with 2-3 geeks!! very cool!!
Steve; TONE here. ....as I mentioned before,
Come to L.A.!!..... we’ll see who keeps up. Haha 😉
Glad you were able to experience the camaraderie in the record stores out here on the west coast.
Was Chet the coolest human ever? Possibly Yes!
There is always a “yea but”........that continuous habit of his surely mellowed him to the lowest point possible. Give a watch to Born to be Blue movie. But your answer is......next to Keith, possibly yes!
Comsat Angels were great. Check out The Chameleons, especially "Script of the Bridge"
thanks for the watch Thull.....see a few videos ago.....finally got that one.
Hi from Wales. The flexi was given free with the new musical express music paper.
Hey Stephen....thanks for clarifying that for me.......that now sounds familiar.....I think it was a great promo to do, even if it was not needed.
I would of been all over that Alice Coutrane LP. I have family in Enfield.
there are always albums I see that I passed up when I tape these stores or shows......oh well......Enfield is a bit away....but if you ever can go to Redscroll Records in Wallingford....worth the drive.
Flexi was part of music magazine
yea, I think NME, and it FREE....go figure......should have been in the reissue.
Known in the US as CS Angels - political problem with the name Comsat - I would suggest for you Time considered The BBC sessions - great stuff - may take a a little just a little to get into them but the material is really classic once your there
That sux with a name change, after all the energy put in. The BBC I see this is CD only and not vinyl. I can still listen on YT.
Give it a try - they did 3 Polydor albums all of which have gems disbanded and after reforming the last album they made was called The Glamour which is a Psych throw back - again well worth a listen
Folk Arts Records is in the North Park area.
yea, I was not sure....got a few areas mixed up. Liked the South Park.....as mentioned in #141.
Thanks for the reply! Keep up the good work! Rock on!
Hi again, if you need vinyl from this side of the world just send me a list cos we have great vinyl stores in Stockholm happy easter!!
FlipSideCT No but that store is still in business, 77 was a good year, concerts, saw pistols, blondie, television but missed out on ramones argghh..
How come you visit Stockholm in 77? I guess a girl! Time to visit again, accommodation and guide is free.))
Thanks!
Should of picked up that james lp u flipped past.
there are so many I should have picked up......I think that was where I got my Wire albums.
Wire pink flag is a classic, had it on vinyl yrs ago, still have cd.
