  • On May 25, 2002, the Boston Celtics erased a 21-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to beat the New Jersey Nets. Paul Pierce scored 19 in the final frame to jumpstart the largest fourth quarter comeback in NBA playoff history.

      Celtics vs Lakers would of been a more interesting finals series than Nets / Lakers. Lakers would of won and probably still swept but at the time it would of at least been more interesting.

      CPGoat #3 yeah he didn’t need a super team but what was the best help that he got before the big 3? Ricky Davis? Antoine Walker? For the most part he was doing everything by himself. I remember they used to run him around 2 or 3 screens possession after possession to free him up because other teams could just key in on him because the Celtics had no one else. If he had a team like the 2005 pistons or something at that level I’m sure he would’ve won a chip earlier and have more than one.

    I'm a huge fan of the Lakers/Celtics rivalry. I wish the Celtics advanced that year. I was only 9 years old in 2002, but I was very basketball savy kid and I so wanted a Lakers/Celtics 2002 NBA Finals. Would have loved to see Kobe and Shaq against Pierce and Walker. It would have had a nice vintage/nostalgia feel to it.

      I always felt Paul was underrated throughout his entire career and it because he wasn’t dunking from the free throw line. Always my favorite player ☘️.. We could never get over those nets tho lol

    I remember in the 2008 NBA Finals the Celtics were down by as many as 24 on the road in Game 4 and came back to beat the Lakers at Staples.

    The Truth was a way more skilled player , as soon as DWades god given athleticism left he was garbage. Could never shoot like Paul, wasn't as clutch, nowhere near as crafty. If Dwade never got LeBron is he seen as better then Paul?

Not saying he was better but Paul shined in the fourth especially in his prime. And as far as buzzer beaters go, only Jordan and Kobe have more buzzer beaters. That says something.
