This must be the most insightful interview of Lilly. All of her hollywood interviews have been not about her real persona. This reflects her in a better way. She herself is impressed by Rajiv's research regarding her. That's what a good interviewer does. Rajeev is a great guy. This conversation is everything.
Loved the question about how Lily retains her authentic self despite being surrounded by ‘zillion’ people telling her what to do. Even Lily thought it was a great question. Have to give it to Mr Masand for being an brilliant interviewer and coaxing another side to Lily that we rarely see 😊
Love this and she's growing. I'm so glad Trevor Noah has her back. He also received lots of criticism when he started and people have grown to love him. She's such a genuine person the TV world will catch up. I Stan a queen Lilly Singh a.k.a iiSuperwomanii
What a phenomenal interviewer. The questions are beyond amazing, he's extremely engaged, and, like Lilly mentioned, he did a fair amount of research to make this a success (which it was). Very impressive. :)
Minhaj is not an Indian. He was born & brought up in California. His only connection with India is his parents, who are from UP. Simlarly,Lilly is also a non-Indian..just that she made trips to her relatives & would thus know something about India.
@@sagarsaxena6318 Understood. But they are of Indian descent and hence there is always a connect- of which they speak openly, acknowledge, uphold and criticise- like any other Indian born and brought up in the country. Their perspectives might be different, of land they may rarely visit or know less of; yet that doesn't make them any less Indian, or so I feel 🙂
Keep being authentic Lilly! You have paved the way for aspiring (minority) women to succeed in the talk show arena. All your hard work, grit, perseverance and the willingness to stand out in the crowd is paying off. Good Luck!
Look how she is talking. So, articulated and not talking just out of her mind. This is how Canadians educated. Other UA-camrs from Asia, they never talk about learning, constructive feedback or telling how she is aware of herself. I have seen the same with other normal people in Canada too. I feel bad for our education system that we are given certificates but not empowered by education
@@tirthshah1580 this is so wrong to call Ms. Singh an Indian. Ask her- she said India was her second home. She is a Canadian and her parents are from India. If you live in Canada or other parts of the world, you will see how people become offended when they are called Indian or Chinese just because their parents are from certain countries. The entire research on citizenship and identity depicts this issue. Did ever Lilly Singh say that she was an Indian? There is difference between being Indian and Indian origin. Also, my concern is about the quality of Education that Indian institutions provide. It's not a personal comment or not intended to demean Indian UA-camrs. People also had issues with Colbert, Fallon, and Seth Meyers when they first started - they were still given the opportunity and time to cultivate their voice, style, and show - so I hope people do the same for Lilly. I personally enjoy Lil Late, but am excited to see it grow and improve also.
It's a common thing that happens to a tonne of people, lol. A lot of us mirror accents that we hear in the moment without it being a conscious decision that was made. It's not an Indian thing, either. I remember Cate Blanchett (an Australian actress) admitting she does the same.
Very very very nice interview! Excellent interview questions and Lilly spoke really well too. One of the nicest interview I’ve seen in such a long time.
Such a great interviewer and great well prepared questions! Deeply enjoyed it. I feel like whenever Lilly is on an Indian channel the discussion gets really deep and constructive.
@Dd J what's happening above is Indians calling the American accent funny, because the way you speak is foreign to us in a way that the language itself isn't. Let those discussions happen without your expert commentary. The English language isn't your personal property, ya know?

Why is he so nervous talking to her, sure she's looks intimidating but she's super chill. He needs to chill a little bit, its so embarrassing to watch. These Indian interviewers interview an international personality and go crazy, start behaving weirdly around them.

The biggest UA-cam channel in the world is Indian. And Lilly Singh is also an Indian first.
