    I always love it when people make how to videos when they should not be doing it themselves. This man lacks the basic understanding of how to service a carb properly let alone instruct someone else too.

    I have an Evinrude V4 90 HP and am also off the Chesapeake Bay on the Magothy River. My motor drinks a lot of fuel and leaks fuel every time I tilt it up, so it looks I will be doing this same project later this week!

    thanks for sharing im looking into a boat with a evinrude 90hp. I appreciate you sharing this. I still need to find out how to sync and adjust the carburetors.

      good luck! I will try to upload a video of my Johnson 90 carb linkage to show you what position they are syncing with each other. They are only 2 carburetors. Each has 2 throats so they do look like 4 carbs. But, they really have just 2 carbs so one link to bind them together.

      Cool, do you have any of the service manual info for this motor? do you still have this motor?

      Ysidro Avila no manual and you don’t need it. Google parts diagram is all you need. Yes my Johnson 90 is still running strong. Just drink gas like beer. 2 miles a gallon. I am tearing down and restoring a honda 9.9 hp kicker motor so i can go 12 miles a gallon. Subscribe and see how you can do the same. Tons of no wake zone so need kicker motor to save gas and for trolling in slow speed to catch stripe bass. Big Johnson 90 will be used only when i need to cruise around and far for speed to save time.

    Okay they are a drop setting of 7/8 to 1 in that's the little tab on the bottom of the float on the rear underneath the PIN you must bend that in and adjust the float until you got the drop of 7/8 to 1 in now on the seat dimension you lay a flat 6 inch scale across your carburetor underneath that float that's the receipt dimension so bend the metal tab on the float so this is a cheese from the bottom inside the base to the bottom of that boat is 500,000 which is a half inch

    How do you remove those two silver caps?

    • @njfishing1
      @njfishing1  4 роки тому

      Use small slotted screw driver to pry open it. Or use hammer and hollow steel hole punch

    Did this fix the problem I have the same problem on mine

      yes, no more leaking. I found out Ethanol in our gas is the problem for eating away our 2 cycle outboard gaskets, I did use seaform to try to combat the ethanol but still every few years need to replace the carb gaskets.

      ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=Y7aasXx7IPM - took the old Johnson 90 out on Chesapeake bay outside of Sandy Point State Park under the bay bridge and had a blast fishing for stripe bass and white perchua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=p1ZxLDTojTg - here I rinsed off the salt water after our bay fishing trip

      Was your motor running crappy when it was leaking?

    • @njfishing1
      @njfishing1  6 років тому

      Martin Wiebe no, it was running ok but didn’t like the fuel flowing out into engine cowling.

    • @njfishing1
      @njfishing1  6 років тому

      Martin Wiebe like i said before, a tiny spark could ignite the motor or make the motor catch fire. Last thing you want fire happens when you are on water enjoying your perfect boating and fishing day. So, i just tear into the carb and fixed it. Now, it is fixed.

    Looking at the parts won't make your outboard run any better...!
